Christianity Etc › Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by LauraB1: 9:57am On Jun 20, 2008
Hello Friends, Please be careful when it comes to men of God, even if you don't believe, just keep quiet. God is not a man, he can do all things, even things so unimaginable. is only our faith that determines what God will do for us, because he said that if you have faith in him without any atom of doubt and you say to a mountain be thou removed, it will be removed.

Have you imagined how Jesus turned water into wine, raised the dead, die and resurrected, and he said also greater works shall we do than him. so why doubt God. I believe that any thing can happen to me as long as I believe God for it. Look at Abraham and Sarah, at 100 and 90 repectively they gave birth, I mean what proof do you wanthuh?

My sisters and brothers in Christ, lets not worry over these men of God because is only God that knows they that are his. Concerning GO with OBJ, Jesus dined with the sinners because he said he came for the sinners. And also , with God anything can happen. Watch out and see, who knows, OBJ making heaven and you are there judging him. To whom he will have mercy, he will.I rest my case.
Family › Re: Is It Wise For Parents To Bath With Their Young Children by LauraB1(op): 8:40am On Jun 10, 2008
As long as a child is above a year old, things the child sees is of great impact to the life of the child. And if a child at that early stage grows with such, it has a deep impact on the child socially and morally.

Don't under estimate these children, cos they are sharp and learns quickly at that stage, funny enough learn bad things easier. So Parents be warned and also make sure your house help is not doing same in your absence. Is simply not good, not healthy to bath with a Child

Example, a child that is used to seeing older people's naked body, when do you stop him/her huh huh huh at what age ( the ealier the better)

Ndipe:
Which kain question be all this?
Because a lot of parents out there do such a thing and assumes that it is normal and part family thing, so lets hear people's opinion if it is actually good and why and how does it educate these young children.

Personally, am not of the opinion that such act should by any means be displayed before children especially above a year old. Because I have been in a home where the parents are so loose with their son that he knows pretty rubbish like kissing, and always wanting to stay around when someone is undressing, to even saying aunty let me see your ass.

So what do you thinkhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh?

Is it healthy for Parents to sleep with their young child(ren) and there and then makes Love? Or may be we feel that they are asleep, but you can never say.

Or better still, Is it good for parents to display some Love making attitude(smooching, romancing, etc) before their children

I suppose teaching a child about the parts of the body is quite different from having your bath together with the child. Or always have to change your cloth in his/her presence.
And even in teaching a small child about the parts of the body, must you remove your cloth and stand nude before the child and be pointing this is this , And you should know that you body is not same with a child's own, at this stage.

Is it wise for Parents to Bath with their young children

Please what is your notion about a mother bathing with her child, where the child is allowed to see his/her mum or even his/her Daddy’s naked body?

How do you react to such, do you welcome it? You sincere opinion is welcomed

Its really a pity, But  I have some questions as to understand you better.

(1) You said you were abandoned at the care of your grand parents? Please is it your maternal or paternal, this grand parents of yours, are they in the village or in town because does it mean that your so called parents (be it mum or Dad regarding whose parents you stay with) don't go to see their parents? (2) When your grandma died, didn't they come for the burial or she just died. (3) Don't your parents have sisters and brothers, I mean your Aunty and Uncle, Have you met with them? Since you stay with grand parents, am sure  their other children (your aunty and uncle)  come visiting them. (4) What have they said about the issue?

Is very bad that they are alive and treat you this way especially your mum, But the truth is that they are still your parents. And no matter how you want to forge ahead with your life, the feelings will still be there, My Dear, I tell you, there are things you have to do in other to have peace. Getting married will not solve that problem completely.

Until I get the answer to the above questions, then I will know what more to say as regards what you may have to do
Events › Re: How Necessary Are Big Weddings? by LauraB1: 2:22pm On Jun 03, 2008
Good topic, wedding preparation and all that is not an easy one at all, but too great minds think a like. Mine was a wonderful wedding. Simple and cute, lasted from 9.30 to 2.00 including church, snapping of pictures and reception. It was beautiful and simple lots of protocol boycotted. One thing is that we planned it within our resources, we didn't involve our families who would have made it more difficult, we had only one source of contact, the cake, food music, decoration, hall, food every thing at a place and of course, the church was near by the hall.
We invited just a bout 100 persons though the people that came were more than that but not too much. No need of sending bus to the village to transport the entire village after all, they were there during the trad, every body was given same treat and they were very comfortable,

There is beauty in simplicity, believe it. Just make sure every body you invited was well taken care of not inviting the whole world that will vex for you for not providing food for them. More over, if you want a simple wedding, just be time conscious, don't do it into the evening that will save you a lot. If you don't plan well, you will end up sending so much over nothing and plan on time, don't give contract to people are very far away from where you are. If you can avoid some family folks that will bring their friends who are in to this or that to ruin your wedding, just do it your own way.
Family › Re: Me And My Husband by LauraB1: 1:31pm On Jun 03, 2008
You are married to your husband and his family. Do you ever think of old age, when your sons will have their own wives and homes, and then their wives will say they don't want you aroundhuhhuh? cry cry cry, what so ever you sow, same you shall reap. You should be able to love your in-law as longer as you love your husband, though some of them can be annoying, but I have come to understand that some times, is the married wife that usually initiates the problem.  These are people who in one way or the other helped in building your husband, their love, support care, money and all that, so why will you deny them of that now? His sisters and brothers may have in time past forsaken one thing or the other for him, his mum may has given him all her salary despite other people's need, yet they all suffered it and now here comes a woman called wife who was never there from the beginning to state Just me and my husband.
Please try and have a rethink and retrace your steps now that it is day, even if they offended you, try and forgive them and make peace with them, Bible says pursue peace with all men. I encourage you to have a change of mind. It will surely be well and pray for God to give you the grace to assume all responsibility no matter the height and depth of it.
Family › Re: Why The World Is Full Of Unmarried Big Girls by LauraB1: 1:11pm On Jun 03, 2008
The write up is a good one, to she who has ears, let her hear the advice. Though some ladies here already said that they prefer being single and not all the ladies will like to marry, yes I agree with them, but the truth of the whole matter is that 90% of ladies world wide will like to get married and have their own home. Then if we want to do a further studies on who actually want to get married, amongst most unmarried big girls, you will be shocked that 95% of them wants to experience it even if be it that they will later get out of it someday.
My dear sisters, marriage is good no matter how you see it. why some people see it as terrible is because of their choice of pattern, more over, is more fun when you quarrel and stuffs like that, it makes the bond stronger.
So if by any way you as a lady think that marriage is not sweet, probably your past relationship or even your parents’ attitude is time for you to throw away that feelings and carry on.
How will you feel say 30 to 40 years in marriage, and then you have successful children and grand children. These are seed you sow now. Then how will you feel when you are 50 to 60 years old, just you alone? You see your friends and sisters families and all that? Then you will know what it means.
What so ever you sow, same you shall reap, nothing good comes that easily. But we have to carry on.

Romance › A Weapon Called Silence by LauraB1(op): 9:12am On May 30, 2008
A weapon called silence

If you are a woman, married, or single or in any form of relationship, read this and reflect over it. If you are the one, how will you handle the issue? Do you think that retaliating will do you a favor or do you think that you will simply walk out of your marriage or relationship for a cheap rat? There are times in our lives we don’t need to be vague nor fight over issues; JUST SILENCE will fight for you. But be wise to know when to be silent.

I felt it the moment I turned the knob. The door was unlocked, but that
Was not unusual especially because his car was in the parking bay, where
It usually sat when he was home. What I felt was a knot forming in the pit
Of my stomach - the kind of feeling you get when you hear movements in
The house when you know you are alone in the small hours of the night.
Every second Friday of the month, I travel to Kampala to collect Fabric for
My vintage business in the city. On this particular Friday, I left home
At dusk as usual, heading for the city centre to catch the 8 pm Akamba
Bus bound for Kampala . We waited for three hours and then it was announced That the buses had been cancelled due to a technical hitch.
With nothing else to do in town, I went back home. The lights downstairs were on and so was the music. The English Premier League was showing on TV, so why wasn't my husband, a die-hard Arsenal fan, watching the game?
Sometimes a woman's instincts can be so sharp that she can smell last year's perfume on the shirt of her philandering man. My instincts were on edge. Even though there was no actual perfume in the air. In fact, there was nothing really that I could put my finger on. Just this odour of violationthat ripped my senses like nothing I had ever felt before. Perhaps this feeling is what kept me from calling out to my husband. And it stayed with me even as I tip-toed upstairs, heading for the master bedroom. Nothingprepares you for anything like this.

They had not even bothered to shut the door. I simply walked in and there they were, my husband and this woman, naked save for my purple flowered bed-sheets partly covering their entwined bodies. It took me a moment to realise the high-pitched cry that cut through the night was coming from me. The bewildered pair scrambled to cover their unclothedness and stared at me blankly. They said nothing. My heart was beating so loud I could almost hear its echo in the Next room.

Trust is a fragile emotion. Like glass breaking, it can be shattered in an instant, never to be wholly recovered again. In that instant, my trust for r this man was lost. "Why don't I go downstairs and make you some tea? "Did I just say that? I had just walked in on my husband and another woman, and all I could do was offer them some tea! I slowly made my way back downstairs. In the kitchen, I switched to auto-pilot, fetching a packet of milk from the fridge, lighting the cooker, placing a pan of water on to boil, bending to remove mugs and the flask,  All the while, my mind was abuzz, humming a tune I did not recognise. This must be how zombies feel.

It went on and on, the tune seemed to imply that I ought to be in control, that I ought to keep breathing so that I may stay sane. The tea was ready and placed on the table. Three bright blue mugs sat neatly on light blue place mats. I waited for the "guests" to come down as I sat motionless, staring sightlessly at the television. They came down my husband first, dragging his feet like a prisoner counting his final steps to the gallows.
He sat on the love seat - the two-seater on which he had cuddled and kissed me passionately just the night before. She followed, hesitating for a moment near the same seat before moving to the furthest corner of the room, near the door, a safe distance from me. I began talking as I poured tea into the cups. I rattled on and on about the transport crisis and the difficulties of traveling at a time like this. But instead of reaching for a cup, the woman stood up abruptly and headed for the door. For a brief moment, our eyes met. She was not young. In fact, she appeared quite mature, maybe even married. I heard the gate open. My husband was still rooted to the spot. "Why don't you see your visitor off?" I prodded gently. He didn't move. I sighed and started talking about the African Cup of Nations Championship and how sad it was that Kenya had lost to Burkina Faso . When he did not respond,

I yawned loudly, said goodnight and went to bed. Sleep evaded me like the mosquitoes that buzz through out the night. My husband did not come to bed with me - he opted for the couch. By the break of dawn I had painted my mind red with all sorts of possible revenge, thinking of the ultimate pain to inflict on him for the anguish he has caused me. But my heart grew haggard on the prospect of a physical confrontation. I was going to fight this war my own way and at my own pace. Last night marked the beginning of a cold war, not confrontation. I have heard of, and even seen, women go after "the other woman" with a panga. But my reasoning was, this woman was not the only player here. My husband probably seduced her. Other women go so far as to attack their husbands, but then again, I thought: If a man is fed up with me, he will let me know. If he wants to have an affair, that is his business. Strange, I know, but silence was my weapon - and a very vicious weapon it was. As far as I was concerned, that was the end of it.
I went about my business as usual and did not say or do anything that would suggest it had actually happened.

Two weeks later, I was waking up and was surprised to find my husband sitting at the foot of the bed, sobbing deeply. "I am sorry,  so sorry. Please forgive me, please, just say something, don't shut me out, just say something,  " I looked at him calmly, my heart frozen. My face showed feigned surprise and innocence. "What are you talking about? Sorry for what?" He sobbed even louder, sinking to his knees, his head buried in his hands. "Say something,  shout, scream, anything, but please don't be silent. It's killing me, please, I'll tell you everything,  ."I smiled. It was the smile of a woman who has just tricked the devil into getting down on his knees and praying. It was the smile of a woman who had won.

I had left my peace with God and He will deal with them in Time. At the end I remained the Lady he had married, and the other women was just another lesson for me that made me the better person I am today
