I had some issues with my boss and wanted to pay back. first, when the bank wanted to sack, they were asked to donate names and mine was among the ones he donated. when they gathered to take decisions, he was unable to justify my inclusion in the list; i was delisted. Though it was meant to be confidential, I later got the gist. Next, he planned and transferred me to the northern part of Nigeria. I was based in Kano and covering our Northwest regional offices. After a while, the environment became too charged and I needed to quit; at this point, i resorted to Holy mass and the Rosary. It was not long before i was posted back to Lagos. it has never happened that any transfer was reverted within one year and till date, all my colleagues believe that I know somebody who knows somebody at the headoffice. It is certain that the op is among the Managers that went on that trip. As a manager in the bank, if you think that road transport is not alright with you, you could have taken flight and the bank would have appreciated the cost saving of 80k too.
I also work in the bank and our management gather all Managers in Nigeria and other African subsidiaries to Lagos for monthly meetings. Majority of the manager prefer road transport and some others complain that the bank is risking their lives by using the flights.

For whatever reason that Ecobank decided to use road, some other people would also have complained too.

@Op, you simply should have tendered your resignation instead of descending this low to run down a bank that pays your bills.

I have read through all the posts and i noticed a big assumption here: Most people assume that the vehicle impounded by LASTMA commited an offence. The offence was never mentioned and it is simply assumed. EVERY driver in Lagos will agree with me that LASTMA is unnecessarily overzealous and always get away with almost every injustice they show to Lagosians. let me give u a summarised version of my marriage story: When I was convinced and fully made up my mind to get married, I scouted for some years for the right person and finally settled for one. The major killer stroke she used was her open mind; even when her friends and folks were suggesting the hard to get style for her, she chose to be docile and that singular action stood her out. I proposed to her just one week after we met for the first time ever and we got married after one month. am sure some of those suggesting the hard to get style are still waiting to hear stories (they might have to wait for ages). The ones who played hard to get for me later came back but it was already late. In summary "playing" hard to get is not good.
