u ve been decieved already. i pray the Lord opens your eyes to know the truth and be free
meji.inc:
Am surprised people still find time to sit in debating and analyzing God's Prophets. What do they know about sin? Is God after the mistakes you make as a born again Christian or does He look out for the rejuvenated you, seeking to bring the lost back into the kingdom? I only have this question to ask you: Are you born again and do you have the Holy Spirit live in you? If yes, then there wouldn't have been any need for this long mind-confusing essay, which will only end up winning souls for the kingdom of darkness. Do a serious rethink about this, stop being sin conscious and give righteousness a chance. Its not by power nor might but by the spirit, says the Lord.

tot u hv sth to offer but u have simply sounded like one of them
philip0906: All y'all questioning y the students r protesting should understand these;
1. The protests is a pointer 2 a larger discontent among Nigerians who would seize any opportunity 2 vent their anger on any perceived enemy.
2. There r more important issues 4 jonathan 2 attend 2, we have no light, bad roads, unemployment, poverty, corruption yet this man has time 2 change d name of a university.
3. the choice of unilag, is contentious. We have eagle square, aso rock villa or even one of the "proposed new universities" to choose 4rm, yet he chose Lagos. MKO and Unilag have no r/ship unlike Adekunle ajasin uni and OAU whose had something 2 do with their respective unis.
4. His actions smirks of politics @ work-gearing up 4 2015.he prolly wants 2 win d hearts of d south-westerners.
5. Its their school. If they don't like it, they have d RIGHT 2 say no.

Big brands have changed names before and they are still relevant haba

Nissan Motor company was Datsun
Accenture was Andersen consulting
Panasonic Corporation was Matsushita electric industrial
Oracle Corporation was relational Software
LG was Lucky and Goldstar Co limited

dont you still know this brands aint they still relevant.

you are simply not a student. pls get violent and bear the associated treatment. when u say "we" what do u mean? are you the SUG president, Alumni President, Senate president or who? the REAL students are now at home while touts are still hanging around!
gameaddict: @leomax: "An unjust law is no law". Why ask them to vacate the skool? To create disunity amongst the protesters. We shall display civil disobedience till Jonathan stops being a liar claiming to love democracy yet scoffing it.

Now that we are peaceful, nobody is listening. If we become violent, the failed leaders will start asking for dialogue. When will Africa wake up and do things right?
EducationRe: Police Sprays Tear Gas In UNILAG/MAU: Gunshots Too by lawak: 2:37pm On Jun 01, 2012
The University is meant to be a place of character formation but these days, we have touts and clowns parade themselves as University students; else, what will get a serious and focus minded person into blocking 3rd mainland bridge not to talk of staying back on the campus after being ordered to vacate. It is like staying beyond a curfew period for a "justifiable" reason - There can never be a good reason for doing the wrong thing. If changing the name has any negative effect, IT IS OBVIOUSLY not for the current "students" to fight. The Alumni association, the governing council, the senate,NANS, ASSU,etc should have been the ones engaging the government while the "students" face their studies, watch the drama and learn as it plays out. In summary, those peope in the hostels are NOT students. A well worded petition and intellectual engagement would have painted a better image for them and possibly achieve a better result than what they are currently doing.

PoliticsRe: Subsidy Removal: Jonathan & Back-Stabbing Governors by lawak: 4:04pm On May 08, 2012
Chanchit: I find it hard to make sense out of all u've typed, are u tryin to say we should stop calling "retardeen" names, he is even worse than an slowpoke, when all he knws how to do is increase everything down to electricity dt we don't enjoy, after news makin rounds suggests dt d subsidy is a scam, he still has d guts to come out and say they r increasin' what we don't have..... Any way d new tarrif will apply for people like u, cos we don't pay for electricity in my estate, we just got a 3m naira waver in ma bloc alone, not to talk of the whole estate, they stopped bringin bills, dt everybody should pay 2k per month, if they perform, we will pay, if they dn't, jona sef no go fit help them..... Mtcheeeeew!
Whether u like it or not, What the former dude u r castigating said is 100% correct. We all paid the price of GSM revolution and that was what saved us from the pangs of NITEL. NITEL staff and their cronies tried also to sabotage the nation the same way NIPOST and NEPA (PHCN) are doing presently.
I support the move to open up the power market...let's pay the price once and get it right again. It will not be an easy deal but am glad that the is set to do it. Generator importers alone and their allies in the Power ministries are set to kill this idea soon. we are watching
PoliticsRe: Andy Uba Declares For 2014 Anambra Gubernatorial Poll by lawak: 9:32am On May 08, 2012
I only chose to comment because I love my state, Anambra. What I see here is a political situation where individuals are busy routing for their respective candidates on purely selfish grounds not on competency. I am not bothered about party affiliations but on the sincerity of the individual. For some of us here in Lagos, we know that Fashola (not minding his human limitations) has proved that a man with a personal vision outperforms the man who is governor because he has enough thugs and money to dole out.
I'll rather not name candidates yet until the primaries are held and we know who is flaging which flag. Most of the names I have seen people mention here are the same old folks who have selfishly and wickedly made Anambra State ungovernable; all thanks to Ngige who sacrificed to break the jinx.

You might not agree with me but I know that times have changed and people are wiser now. clothings, salt, Rice, money and other lobbying tools will no longer be used as a yardstick for voting any more.

I was in Kano state during the last election and I can assure you that the Man who single handedly funded all his party's elections still lost the governprship ticket inspite of the amount of dollars he inherited from his Father's loot.

PoliticsRe: Femi Fani Kayode Replies Sls by lawak: 12:13pm On Jan 18, 2012
Its only in a country like Nigeria that people like Fani-Kayode can still make open comments in public opinion poll. , imagine!! and he was even a minister of this country 2 times, no wonder we are in this mess today.

I still believe that God will reward us all accourding to our deeds
PoliticsRe: NLC/TUC & FG Fail To Reach Compromise: Strike Continues by lawak: 12:50pm On Jan 15, 2012
its just unfortunate that many of us argue along with the crowd without clearly seeing the end. there has to be basis for ny arguement; else, u'll end up the same old way.

I support the removal of fuel subsidy 100% (if at all it exists), like every other project that i have reviewed , the major worry here is the faulty implementation plan. those who understand project implementation know that there is always a backup plan or roll back plan and that is what the FG team is lacking because it is obvious that the managers of the Nigeria project do not have any sort of roll back plan.

again, if after all these stress we are made to go thru and we are able to achieve ONLY reduction of fuel price, then we are the true losers.

The protest leaders seems to be losing sight of the state governors who are also co-actors in the GEJ game. I am yet to get the committment of any state governor on how he intends to dispense the portion the subsidy gain to be given to the state.

What about the legislators who earn more than the American president even as DUMB as they are. Its only in Nigeria that such touts earn more than university graduates. Do you know the total annual pay of any Nigerian legislator? why MUST we have ministers of state? why Must we have ministers from every state? When is the cost of governance in nigeria coming down?, these are more reasons why we have to be on the street and not fuel subsidy removal alone,
PoliticsRe: Chief Femi Fani-Kayode Thinks Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Is "The Problem" by lawak: 3:45pm On Jan 05, 2012
Unfortunately!!!! It is only in a country like Nigeria that people like FEMI FANI-KAYODE can still comment on public issues and be listened to after he and his cohorts looted Nigeria without any result during the obasanjo ero.

very soon, Bode George, Alameisigha, James Ibori, Andy Uba, etc will make comments too and we take them serious.

I support the protest because of the wrong timing not because it is evil to remove subsidy afterall, there was no subsidy all the while. we were just funding corruption and nobody protested.

have u wondered why senate and house of assembly are still playing hide and seek?

PoliticsRe: Post Election Violence: No Life Was Lost In Kano, Says by lawak: 5:12pm On Apr 27, 2011
Very painful how people sit at eh comfort of their sitting rooms, read lies published anywhere and send mails defending the lies. i might not have pictures to send but i can assure you that lives were lost in KANO. How come there was no official statement from Kano state govt last week monday?

I was already at work on monday when it started, some of us who are strangers ran to either Sabon gari or any of the Military barracks. 3 of my colleague had their homes completely burnt. It will interest you that people were killed even insisde the police station where they ran for safety. Anybody who knows Hotoro and Yankaba axis will not bother reading this thread.

In Hotoro for instance, electric poles were pushed down to block the road and restrict vehicle entries while they loated and killed innocent strangers.
we thank God for using the millitary to scatter them later in the day, left for Police alone, they were ready to burn down police stations and kill anybody that tries to escape.

the summary is that people were killed in Kano and nobody can accurately state how many they were!
PoliticsRe: Do Non - Northerners Support Buhari? by lawak: 4:12pm On Mar 26, 2011
I am glad that people are becoming politically aware now and also beginning to reason beyond, ethnic and religious lines. the only thing left is for us to stop looking at parties but individuals because we don't have political parties in Nigeria.

Obasanjo was able to achieve the much he did not because he is PDP but because he is naturally a strong man, pls get me right.

Before now, I have always advocated for Jonathan to be given a chance until i took time to analyse his personality. He seems not to have a personal vision for this country.
We have seen Buhari passionate about corruption once with WAI (he might not have got it right 100%)
We have seen Ribadu passionate about corruption once @ EFCC (He might not have got it right 100%)
Has anybody seen Jonathan passionate about corruption?, even with his parleying with Ibori, Bode george, etc

CORRUPTION is the root of our problem in this country and anybody serious bout rulling Nigeria must tackle it headlong, pls let your vote count, vote wisely against corruption.

She was the only person who stood for the truth when others (both men and women) were scared to do so.

Christianity EtcRe: Abortion: Same As Murder? by lawak: 12:53pm On Feb 24, 2010
let's be careful guys, the devil has several ways of distracting some people from getting to know the truth. sometimes he uses some folks to change the topic and people waste their time and energy in argument, abusing and cursing others instead of discussing the topic, the truth is this: ABORTION is pure cold MURDER,

the human life begins at conception; as such, the human SOUL joins the body at conception and any termination of such life is cruelty and murder of innocent, harmless and helpless life.
BusinessRe: Shocking News! Bankphb Sacks Over 1,000 Staff by lawak: 8:09pm On Feb 23, 2010
, I feel the hurt of the guys who were affected. I was once in that class when UBA laid off staff in Dec.2006. The good news is that I am happy today. All i can tell the affected guys is to move on and look up to God for a better tomorrow; Him alone makes the difference. Self pity has never helped anyone.

the version of the story untold is that PHB's severance package is still the best so far among other banks that sacked their staff recently.

Cheer folks, better days r ahead,
