DomPerignon: A few years to independence, there was a great clamour by minority peoples wedged under the suffocating embrace of the "Big Three" nationalities to have their own respective regions carved out from the three existing regions.
The British only considered the plight of Western Cameron who argued that they were never part of Nigeria until after WW1 when they were partitioned from German Cameron by both the British and French following the Treaty of Versailles.
The fate of the other three conglomerate minority groups were ignored by the British and told to sort themselves out in a post colonial Nigeria.
These three heterogenous minority movements were:
1. The Middle-Belt movement
2. The Mid-West movement
3. The Calabar-Ogoja-Rivers movement.
Out of these three , only one succeeded in being granted autonomy and that was the Mid-West region.
The Middle-Belt and COR movement agitations were vehmently struck down by their respective northern and eastern parliaments.
Sir Ahmadu Bello of the northern region had already spelt out his Fulani agenda for his inherited colonial territory and had sworn to restart his grand father's jihad to convert the then so-called pagan provinces of the middle belt to Islam and total subjugation to the Sokoto Khalifate. The Sardunna defended all his desperate moves to frustrate and quash the minority agitation to be granted leave from the north by asserting that the so-called pagan provinces were his to conquer. He even coined a phrase that was until Buhari's second misadventure , very popular in the north which was "one north".
As for the most restive and most divisive region to the East, all attempts by minority groups in the COR movement to be granted leave from the colonial lumped assembly fell on similar deaf ears .
But to the west , a referendum was granted and a plebiscite reached by the minorities to leave the then western region.
The motion for a plebiscite was even moved by a Yoruba parliamentarian first in Ibadan and after the decision was reached read on the floor of the federal parliament by another Yoruba parliamentarian.
So why out of three regions , why was it only the Yoruba dominated western region that heeded to the plight of their minorities ?
Why did the Ibo dominated eastern region refuse to even have the motion debated at Enugu ?
These are the stories that were never told the younger Igbos by their parents. They only told them emotional stories of how they have been done badly by Nigeria. They have 1/4 of the picture. The full picture of the events that played out between 1950s and 1970s showed that these young guys have been misinformed.
God1000: Tribalism is the reason such thing cannot happen in Nigeria.
It was only during the Endsars protest nigerians came together to challenge government, though not the entire country.
The CIA, other agencies of US, France, etc funded that EndSARS. I was part of the revolt but did not realize that many of the influencers were sponsored by the so-called western countries. They wanted to cause an insurrection that cannot be tamed in Nigeria. It’s now happening in France.
RenaissanceGuy: Tinubu would have made one of the biggest blunders of his administration if no person from the SE was appointed. It'd simply embolden IPOB to win more Igbo people over to their side, like they did during Buhari's tenure.
Even at that. They still believe the guy isnt Igbo enough!
This one just wants to be unfortunate. Madness is sitting deep in the bossom of some people. I am full blooded Yoruba man. Sometimes I have my misgiving against some other tribes and others have against mine. Within those differences, I have found love to be the only thing that breaks all the wall. So why should you hate? Go to jail and receive the reward of haters. Nonsense!
LagosFirstSon: I remembered how former president Muhammadu Buhari media aide, Femi adesina used to castigate the Igbos at any given opportunity just because he wanted to please Buhari. But today, Buhari is no more to employ him and guess what, An Igbo man has employed Femi adesina in his newspaper company as vice chairman. The name of the Igbo man is his Excellency, the former governor of Abia state and a high ranking serving senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Mr Uzor Orji Kalu.
This life is so unpredictable .. so we must all be careful not to offend the Igbos because one way or the other, they will save your ass .
show us the times that he demonstrated hatred for igbos. You guys should stop this kinda of victim mentality. So all the Yoruba, South South, Middlebelt and Northerners that castigated Buhari about his style of government, and that received backlash from Femi Adeshina are also igbo people? and for your info, I don't like Femi Adeshina because I feel that he has compromised his integrity and professionalism by attacking those that genuinely criticized the govt constructively.
mexioni: This car is too clean Nothing to fix And YES Accident free Owner needs to clear some cars in a few days and needs to sell off Call or WhatsApp 08034019399 Location is lagos.
casualobserver: This Obi is a dunce? You sued INEC, you joined them in a suit how can they be “neutral” when they are a defendant?
As in, I am beginning to even question his source of wealth. You know why? He is too shallow to be in control of billions. That guy thinks like a secondary school dropout.
Paperwhite: See how shameless INEC has become in this dispensation?
Are you normal? You joined INEC into a case, you accused INEC of not folllowing process, and you expect them not to back their conduct of the election. You expect INEC to say they didn’t do well? How did Peter Obi bring you guys into idiocy?
Oakshire Realtors brings to you, this MASSIVE parcel of land at Awoyaya, on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, Nigeria; measuring approximately 667sqm in a fast developing and COMMERCIALLY VIABLE environment. The owner intended to build a beautiful bungalow on it. This 100% dry land which is free from any issue, as can be seen in the video, comes with a big building - yet to be completed; and the space left in the compound is still massive enough for the would-be buyer to maximize for other profitable uses.
This sale, occasioned by an urgent need for cash by the owner; is a golden opportunity that may not linger for long in the nearest future for properties in that location. The simple reason being that, the price of a plot land in that location far outweighs the price on offer here. So yeah, It's the best opportunity presented by Oakshire Realtors so far, for the year (2023)!

This is why I told my friends supporting PO during the election that is being innocently deceived to think that PO and his backers don’t have an agenda. Do you think this is an organic protest! OBJ had advised these crew to lead protests and lead youth to believe that they have got to shutdown Nigeria. It’s a conspiracy, and even the media isn’t helping matters. And it’s a game plan:
1. Attack INEC servers. INEC became weary to upload immediately cos of attacks. 2. Next stage, criticize the process because uploads wasn’t done immediately. Condemn the election and make the youth believe Obi has been rigged out. 3. Obi and Datti should shop around media houses discrediting the election and the candidacy of Tinubu. 4. Submit petition to tribunal, tarnishing the image and the credibility of Tinubu to stand for election 5. Lead an army of influencers on social media to condemn the election, criticize and criminalize INEC chairman, Tinubu, etc. 6. Raise people to lead protest beginning from Abuja, Benin, Lagos, PH. Watch out… it’s going to get there. 7. Until the country is ungovernable.
At this rate, Obi May go to jail if these things are established against him and OBJ by DSS.
Tinubu had 25% of total vote casted in 30 States out of 36 states and FCT
.
Don’t mind them. I just don’t know how Obi took their brain away. The administrative head of FCT is no longer the minister of FCT but president (what a joke). It’s just as if these clowns have rabies and the infection rate is high! Unfortunately the media space isn’t regulating these rhetorics. Young people are swimming in the belief of lies all over the place because the mainstream media also accommodated the narratives! Quite unfortunate.
rabzy01: Thank you for been part of this discussion.
I want you to tell me categorically who spoke the words in Romans, 1:16. Was it God, Jesus or Paul?
When were the disciples persicuted and went to Phenice, Cyprus and Antioch (Acts 11:19) and why did they restrict their preaching to only the jews. Were they ignorant of Romans 1:16 and Johm 3:16?
Back to John 3:16, for God so loveth THE WORLD..... Which of the worlds? Cos there are many worlds eg one can say 'the world of soccer', 'the world of the jin', the world of magic, the world of the jews, the arab world etc and stand correct each in its context. The WORLD in John 3:16 is a definte article refering to a particular world which should be read in context with other verses like the ones in matthew to mean the WORLD OF THE JEWS or the jewish world.
Lastly, you should know that by its context, John 3:16 is neither the spoken words of God nor those of Jesus but of a third party who may just be expressing his opinion. This opinion may be right or wrong.
Thank you once more.
Let me drop this before I go to church. God bless you!
In all your analyses, Jesus was referring to his ministry while on earth. The ministry of Jesus after he left was undertaken by his followers in obedience of his instructions. Read these scriptures. They are the words of Christ himself:
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Luke 24:47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Matthew 24:14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Mark 13:10 The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
On the Samaritan woman, Jesus used her as a means of reaching others in Samaria. Samaria wasn’t only occupied by Israelites. There were gentiles that had also mingled with the jews. That’s why they always refer to the samaritans as unworthy. See the response of the people that heard Christ in John 4.
John 4:42 and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Please go and digest the prophesy of Isaiah below: Isaiah 49:6: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."
I am sure by the revelation of the Holyspirit, it will come alive with illumination in your soul! I would like to give you more scriptures but that will be later. Sorry I missed replying this the entire time.
Kobojunkie: 1. So, in your mind, his disciples rejected His teachings, the very teachings He talked them to teach others in the world? I am afraid I don't follow at all. None of the verses you quoted speak contrary to what Jesus Christ declared, so I am not certain where you are heading at all.
2. Samaritans are actually descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh, the very first God promised to gather back of His Israel. So, I am not certain where you get your claims from.
3. He told you that the world which He came to save is the one which consists of the sinners of Israel... somehow you think He was bullsheeting instead. How come?
You are obviously disillusioned about the scriptures. You didn’t even speak to the scriptures I quoted which are direct instructions of Christ to his disciples to reach the world.
Kobojunkie: The one you responded to was actually wrong! Jesus Christ said it Himself that He was sent by His Father only to the Lost sheep of Israel meaning that the world He was sent to was one that consisted only of the sinners of Israel. And before you go on, Jesus Christ also warned His followers not to give that which is Holy to the dogs aka the Non-Israelites. So when the word gentile is used in reference to those who were to be given the gospel, it referred to those who were of the House of Israel but have been cursed and cast out, made strangers by God Himself for their sins against Him. So yes, Cornelius the gentile was an Israelite. The Samaritan woman Jesus Christ preached to was also an Israelite.
In your analysis, Jesus was referring to his ministry while on earth. The ministry of Jesus after he left was undertaken by his followers in obedience of his instructions. Read these scriptures. They are the words of Christ himself:

All the conjectures in the media are the result of his overbearing attitude and lack of discretion and understanding of time when he went to do an interview with that failed journalist just to spite his club.
You can’t call for negative attention to others, and expect the positive attention to follow you… he has to live with it. No one can eat his cake and still have it!
Brendaniel: The noise on this blue rail line is getting too much, can they just finish the work and let people start enjoying the service, it is like the project is now been used as a campaign tool instead of serving the people, this is one reason I preferred Ambode's government, he doesn't make noise with projects, you just see the project done without media hype and ceremonies.
Ambode is still the best Lagos governor since 1999 - but Tinubu removed him because Tinubu wanted to steal more for himself and his cronies
On the contrary, Ambode was the one arranging increased money for Tinubu both as account general under Fashola and as Governor.
Ambode messed with the party structure and destroyed many contractual agreements with Lagos Contractors in order to bring his own contractors on board. That is what cost him his job. Those politicians were not push-aways so Tinubu listened to them when it became obvious he will lose their followership if he continued to back Ambode.
The facts are there… you may want to dig to know more than stay on the surface.
DadaHammed: The phrase 'awa lokan' is full of tribalism.
Emilokan was not about tribe. He was talking to his party members and said he has pushed many people’s agenda and it was time for his party men to rally him. So don’t even go there. They are two different thing.
Foolish youth like you will be mentally folded by the likes of Atiku.
