that's not true brother go back to your books northern Nigeria is a tectonic area which is associated with high temperature and crude oil and high temperature do not exist together, secondly there is oil in the Chad basin but it is a half garben where the sloppy side containing the crude accumulation is deep into Chad and not in our reach so it is a waste of resources. Who told you that because of temperature, no oil there.what you are going say about Ilullemmeden basin? where the Nigeria part is the sokoto basin, Chad basin(Bornu basin Nigeria part).
I have been to those areas not only reading from books.
Please! after you read, go to such area and confirm! that's science for you. Am from the south but spend much time in North than south.

Prof. Esther Ajakaye(1st female geophysist in Africa) was in charge (petrophysics and seismic survey)then. While Prof.Zarbosky had done sedimentology ,biostratigraphy and structural geology of the area.

People like professor Zarbosky have done alot of research on northern Nigeria sedimentary basin......
