LordKO: His action is in order (almost every other country has a cyber security department, which is normally under the ministry of either communication or technology). . . At least it's better than outlawing the use of internet, especially by the populace (like in North Korea), in the country.
Small-minded people should know that freedom of speech doesn't mean approval of abuse of those in power in particular and others that hold contrary view to their parochialism in general. chai ndi afonja who do una dis thing going by dis post den lai mohammed and bmc should have been proscribed cuz no nigerian president even shagari was insulted like GEJ but then again dats afonja for u smh |

Factfinder1: Bukola Saraki's Daughter Marrying A Christian Man Is A Sin(facebook User Claims
As shared on Facebook by a Muslim Facebook user
For Tosin Saraki, the daughter of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki to marry a Christian man that simply show that Tosin has been following the religion of her mother (Toyin Saraki) before now and its haram for any Alfa in Ilorin to coordinate such marriage, unfortunately, Alfas Ilorin are more to money than standing for Islam, however, with this marriage, Bukola Saraki has proved to the northerners that he is more of a southerner than being a northerner and this marriage will have consequences on his political agenda even am sure some northerners politicians will make mockery of daughter's marriage, Since it's impossible to see a Muslim northerner politician to marry off his daughter to a Christian man, even he can't allow his son to marry a Christian lady, though Islam permits this but didn't permit a Muslim woman to marry a Christian man.
In the north, marriage and religion have a strong tie with their political system and with Tosin Saraki's marriage to a Christian man that will make it very very difficult for Bukola Saraki to be adopted by the northerners politicians to be the presidential candidate for the north coming any year. HungerBAD: *Coronation Anniversary: Obaseki Salutes Oba Ewuare II, lauds inspiring partnership with Govt *Oba Ewuare 11 a bridge builder-Oshiomhole *Lagos still enjoying blessings of Oba of Benin-Oba Akiolu
Why I will soon embark on national and internation tour-Oba Ewuare 11
By SIMON EBEGBULEM, BENIN CITY –
GOVERNOR Godwin Obaseki of Edo state has said that the relationship between the state government and the Benin Monarch, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, in the last one year, has improved the quality of life in the state. Meanwhile, the Oba of Lagos, Rewanu Akiolu, has said that the developmental strides being witnessed in Lagos State was because of the blessings given to the state by a past Oba of Benin.
Saying that Lagos state has continued to enjoy that blessing, Oba Akiolu said he was happy to be present at the anniversary of an Oba ‘who used to be his brother but is now his father.’ Also, immediate past governor of Edo state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who congratulated Oba Ewuare 11 for his one year coronation anniversary and birthday, described the Oba as a bridge builder and a blessing to Edo state and Nigeria as a whole.
Both Governor Obaseki and Oba Akiolu spoke at a Gala Night to mark the one-year coronation anniversary of Oba Ewuare II, in Benin city, Friday. The governor described his working relationship with the monarch in the one year he has reigned as inspirational and unique, noting that the cordial relationship has been instrumental to the successes recorded by his government in the last one year.
Obaseki said that the collaboration has helped the government in addressing some of the concerns raised in His Majesty’s coronation speech last year, which resulted in the state government’s new law which outlawed the activities of Community Development Associations (CDAs) as well as the development of the Gelegele Seaport.
We as a government have collaborated with his Majesty and have put a law in place to deal with miscreants, who still engage in CDA activities in the state. For the Gelegele Seaport, we set up a technical committee on the development of the seaport and the committee has submitted its report to us,” the governor said. He congratulated Oba Ewuare II on his birthday and one-year anniversary on the throne and thanked him for being a source of confidence to those in public office by his actions.
Obaseki said that the state would be hosting the Alaghodaro Investment Summit in Benin City in November to open the state for investment to secure the future of Edo people, adding, “In less than a month from now the first edition of Alaghodaro Investment Summit will hold in this great city. Our objective is to showcase sectors that global business players can invest in, namely, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, tourism, real estate and sports to mention a few.”
On his part, Oba Ewuare II urged traditional institutions to partner with government for the good of the society, declaring that he will soon embark on national and international tours and hopes to use the opportunity to build stronger ties that will benefit Edo. Oba Ewuare II thanked the state government for acceding to his request that CDA activities be criminalised in the state, noting that the new law has brought sanity to property management in the state.
The event attracted dignitaries from within and outside the shores of the country and was spiced with musical performances by Nigerian artistes namely, Tu face Idibia, Davido and Majek Fashek.

Ofemannnu: Funny but real facts..
BiafraAngitator : Other tribes insult us because they're jealous of our success. We control 90% of the industries in Nigeria We are very intelligent and resourceful Fun fact: We're pigs but our leader is a Cow named Kownu I find great pride in being a P&I, so I made my own profile. Read and enjoy: Kingdom: Animalia Phyllum: Chordata Clade: Synapsida Class: Mammalia Order: 90% Artiodactyla 10% Primates [90% Pigs and 10% Gorillas] Family: Suidae (90%) & Hominidae (10%) Tribe: Gorillini Genus: Sus and Gorilla Habitat: Mud huts and dirty ditches Diet: Soups that look like human shiit. We're also cannibals and we enjoy eating human flesh Relationship with humans: Very anti-social Culture: We have none. We have no idea where our ancestors came from. In fact, we only started wearing clothes in 1921. Lifespan: Our lifespan is usually cut short by executions in Malaysia, China, Indonesia, India, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries we have developed. Intelligence: We are low animals with very poor IQ Description: 1. As a pig and idiot myself, I have a large flat head and big nose. 2. We are known to be savages and low-IQ animals. We're also domestic animals who are slaves to Southwesterners and Northerners. 3. Cannibalism is very common among us. Young piglets sometimes go savage and kill their parents. 4. Sometimes it's the other way round - Mothers pigs attack their piglets and devour them raw when frustrated. 5. We are very low on the food chain which leaves us vulnerable to predators. 6. We are known to be cowards and weaklings. I grew up watching my hairy mother beat my father up many times. 7. We're very irresponsible and love blaming others for their shortcomings. 8. Our women are special breeds for prostitution. Its why we occupy 99% of the brothels in other regions. 9. The only god we worship is Money. It's why we engage in Baby factories, rituals, drugs, kidnapping and many other things. 10. Our female Pigs can be identified with hairy chests, yam legs and very horrible mouth odour. 11. We are the dirtiest species walking the surface of this planet. Even God knows this and it's why he blessed us with red mud lands. We love swimming in our mud. 12. Our population is dwindling by the day. Adult male pigs are being killed in different parts of the world everyday. We're on the brink of extinction, please text "Save The Pigs" to 247419 to help us out. 13. We don't know who our ancestors were and we still don't have our own country. In other words, we're pigs of no nation. 14. We're the rejects of everyone. Even Israel disgraced and repudiated us when we claimed to be jews. 15. We're very anti-social towards our hosts and it's why we're the most despicable people on earth. 16. We're parasites who contribute nothing to our host states. We're tax cheats and lowlife criminals. Our survival depends on other regions. 17. We can't survive without our western and northern neighbors. We can't provide for our families without their money. They're very important in our miserable lives. 18. We're known to shiit where we eat. We're ungrateful bastards who can never appreciate favors. 19. We're ingrates and uncultured bastards. 20. We like forceful attaches. We like claiming to be what we're not. Yesterday, we were jews. Today, we're gorillas and pigs. Tomorrow, we'll be worms who evolved from the faeces of Daenerys Targaryen's dragon. Our story changes constantly. 21. Some of us are light-skinned because our yam-legged mothers were riding the dicks of white people when they first visited our lands as missionaries. 22. We discriminate against our fellow pigs even though we're all slaves. 23. We're cowards and weaklings. The only weapons we can wield are our mouth and keyboard. We can never put our words into actions. For example, we threatened Fulani herdsmen but hid in our mud huts like rats when they brought the fight to our doorstep. Thousands of our hairy yam-legged women were killed and raped brutally in Enugu, yet we did nothing. Oh wait, we did something - We ranted on nairaland as usual. we all know d dirty cowardly spineless tribe cant survive without d gambaris n afonjas yet dy are asking for a referendum if i were u d silence of igbo leaders on secession will jolt ur brain but then once a slave always a slave |

WetinConsignMe: No Nigerian politician living or dead has more controversies attached to them than the person of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
What are the basis of these controversies? To what extent are they justified?
Let this be the definitive thread on Awo's controversies. So, even if you've presented your arguments elsewhere, present them here again for the record.
POLITELY present your points. Try to be courteous and respectful or at least avoid personal attacks on anyone. No bigoted tribal posts please.
Please remember, Awo is a hero to most Yorubas and like a god to some, so try to be respectful.
Here are Chief Awolowo's controversies in chronological order:
1) That he introduced tribal politics into Nigeria in 1951 by, overnight, convincing a staunch NCNC allied Ibadan party to switch allegiance to AG in other to prevent Zik from becoming first premier of the West. As Unongo put it: Zik’s party produced a Zik premiership in Western Nigeria and in the night, Awolowo went round to convince the Yoruba that, ‘you are a tribe. Your tribe is called Yoruba. Zik’s tribe is called Igbo. Do not allow this to happen. Whether you like me or not, it is better to have a Yoruba man to rule over Yorubaland’. Unfortunately, I feel, this was the starting point of our problems.
2) That he tried to orchestrate the first coup in Nigeria in 1963. For this he was sentenced to 10 years hard labour by a Yoruba judge after a long trial. A co-conspirator, Enahoro, later escaped to Ghana and confessed they were indeed planning a coup.
3) That the January 1966 coup plotters intended to release him from jail and install him as prime minister.
4) That only Ojukwu could have released Awo from Calabar prison as Gowon never had authority in the East and was never in any position to order the release of Awo or any other prisoner in the East.
5) That Awo promised Ojukwu personally, and later said publicly, that the West would secede if Biafra seceded.
6)That he encouraged the starvation of Biafrans durring the war. That he made the statement: "Starvation is a legitimate weapon of war."
7) That he was the architect of the 20 pound policy after the war, which most Igbos considered cruel.
That he commited suicide by poison in 1987 after a co-conspirator gave Babangida a tape of them plotting a coup.
As Adebayo Adeyinka, a staunch Awoist, put it: “Papa Awolowo was invited for a meeting with President Ibrahim Babangida who was then staying at Dodan Barracks which was the seat of power as at then... He gave Papa some options and that was for him to be ready to face a court martial, be ready to go to a prison, or better still go on exile At this stage Papa felt instead of allowing some ambitious khaki boy to mess him up he should just pack it in and call it a day, so Chief Awolowo decided to commit suicide so as to save himself from the ignominy of going to prison for the second time in his lifetime ."
9) That he was corrupt.
As Adeyinka put it (in trying to praise Awo); “He was stupendously wealthy during his lifetime, infact there is no company at Oba Akran in Ikeja, Lagos, where he does not have at least a five percent equity. Dideolu Court in Ogba alone cannot be valued at less than N10 Billion, that was the place that he had in mind to be his Seat of power if he was elected as Nigeria’s President. He owned Shonibare Estate but the man he was using as a front and who later went to prison over some issues which Awolowo himself was privy to eventually laid claim to the estate" "“He got all of this wealth due to a great measure of goodwill and tax waivers he gave to investors whenever they come to establish their business. Anytime you buy a bottle of Coca-Cola you are enriching the Awolowo Dynasty." He listed these blue chip companies as places the Awolowo family have commercial interests just to mention just a few: Dunlop Nigeria Plc ,Guinness Nigeria Plc, Neimeth Pharmaceutical Nigeria Plc ,May and Baker Nigeria Plc ,Vitafoam Nigeria Plc ,Wahum Nigeria Limited ,CAP Nigeria Plc , International Paints of West Africa [IPWA], Berger Paints Nigeria Plc ,Berec Nigeria Limited ,Kabelmetal, Nigeria Bottling Company Plc ,Leventis Nigera Plc ,West African Portland Cement Company,[Lafarge ],Wema Bank Nigeria Plc, Scoa Nigeria Plc ,CFAO Nigeria Plc, Cadbury Nigeria Plc ,Wemaboard Estates, Odu’A Group, Livestock Feeds Nigeria Plc , Nigerian Breweries Plc ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
