SportsRe: Ronaldo Can Win Euro 2016, Bt Messi Is Still The Best by legendte(m): 1:27pm On Jul 09, 2016
DesChyko:
Making excuse in advance. Ronaldo is a proven player. Messi's a Barcelona player. The question is this: Why is the magic only in Spain? It took Ronaldo about two years after arrival to become Madrid's talisman, yet he passed Telmo Zarra's 50+ year old landmark of 251 goals, just months after Messi passed it. Note that Messi had already played in Spain for at least five seasons before Ronaldo made his Spanish League debut. Coupled with the fact that the only major title he doesn't have is the European Cup. He has won every other major team and individual awards for the two biggest leagues in club football today. I'm not even talking about the Euros.
Good point but you are not fair to Messi and football in general. forget about this prove it here and there. The most important question is or should be if he is competing at the biggest stage. Ronaldo is older than Messi and started football career before him. It is like judging kelechi Iheanacho from now. It is never easy for lads to compete and gain promotion from clubs like Barcelona who fight for trophies every season. Staying at a club or travelling from one club to another is no excuse. Does it mean that Benitez is better than Ferguson who stayed at United for 26 years? What do you say about Ryan Giggs or Italian legend Maldini? Does it mean that the travelling Varmelen is better than John Terry who has not played for any other club.
Again staying at a club for a long time is no guarantee that you will be a success. Arsene Wenger is still not better than Pep Guardiola.
Ronaldo is a very good player no doubt but please Messi is far better. ...at least by the records.
We have preferences as individuals, there are some games that I would choose Ronaldo over Messi because of his amazing athletic gifts and strong desire to win. But then, just as the writer said, you can't describe Messi. You just have to watch him. Messi is both a play maker and a goal scorer.
Messi is just the full definition of football and I could remember Wenger describing his style as play station style. Ask coaches and soccer legends who are not doing business with Barcelona or Spain and get their opinion or better still, you can check their highlights.

PoliticsRe: Kasimu Abdulkarim Takes Over From Jude Egbudom As GOC 2div. Nigerian Army by legendte(m):
The problem is not Buhari but the zombies from brown roof and stinking Republic (BRSR) who keep deceiving themselves.
They will be like: I don't care about his tribe but his competence.
My question is this: don't we have competent and credible men from the 17 states in southern Nigeria? Are our founding fathers foolish to bring up federal character in appointment? If the southerners are corrupt, does it also mean that they are less competent than their counterparts in the North? Since when did the North start to send their kids to school? How can we promote education catchment area to favour north and quota system to also favour north? What is the faith of the increasing number of southerners that enroll in the university?
Well just like the Pope said, who am I to criticise.

PropertiesRe: Is This Quotation For Roofing Ok? by legendte(m): 10:28am On Jul 08, 2016
Never give the job of getting those materials to the guy that brought the quotation. This is a wrong and dubious quotation. He didn't specify the type of wood to be used (hard or soft). While cost of materials have unimaginably gone up, you shouldn't be too lazy to visit the market or invite more people to give you there quotation. I am not saying that you should go with the cheapest and compromise quality. Ask questions like the type of wood to be used. Things like nails do not need an expert to know what to buy. The guys in the market are also there to rip off your money. Take more quotations before you visit the market. Ask for specific items like: I want obeche 2×4 wood. If the least price is say 500 naira from the quotations you got, start pricing from 300 and I believe you will get a better discount. Move round the market and get the best price.
Now after getting the estimate, renegotiate for the price of labour. Select the roofer you want and go to the market with him. Never allow him to go alone because he might pick low quality materials to make up for the prices you slashed.
From an Engr who is doing his project and have worked in an aluminium firm.

Don't rush to condemn Baba, he is the one that created jobs most. The consolidation in Banking sector by Soludo under Obj created a lot of jobs. Then came telecoms under him. Dangote saw more light and created jobs during his time. Infact the unemployment started with Jonathan and when I thought GEJ was bad, another higher clueless man came with no sign to address the issues. More job loses since the coming of CHANGE.

This is coming from a PDP supporter. Nigerians decided (whether by rigging or not) that Jonathan should give way and it seems we came from frying pan to fire.
Zombies will say that he refused to save. Yes he didn't save and he was shown the exit. Americans remember Roosevelt because of what he did during their recession. We didn't vote for Buhari to tell us reasons why we can't grow.....to blame GEJ. Any mad man can equally be voted in and waste one year blaming GEJ.
With Buhari, Nigeria is ECONOMICALLY FINISHED.

Strength: strong political will, not a fan of tribalism, good vision, political guru.

Weakness: power drunken, corrupt and egoist.

All in all, I would choose baba over buhari and Jonathan. I would choose Umaru over Baba.

Baba Obj introduced technocrats to the Nigerian politics.
Soludo, Dora Akunyili, Okonjo, Ribadu and others.

Baba is keeping fit.

PoliticsRe: Should Saraki Resign Over Forgery And False Asset Declaration Cases? by legendte(m): 4:14pm On Jun 29, 2016
dancewith:
In a normal situation the honorable thing here is for the SP and DSP to resign. But this trial is anything but normal. Saraki would be well aware the intentions of those behind the trial is to achieve his removal, whichever way that comes. In this regard his resignation would be a victory for those bent on ousting him from power, for whatever ill they feel he committed against them

This in mind, I do not see him willingly resigning. He knows, just like everyone else do, that the executive is orchestrating this plot and his political life depends on how he survives this. Winners are not quitters, quitters never win, comes to mind in a case like this

This also reminds me of the celebrated case between Atiku and the then president OBJ. Atiku was put on a moral bind and similarly asked to resign, for the integrity of the VP's office. He knew it was not about doing what is morally right (a situation that would have made him an eternally laughing stock) but a political fight, to the death, where fangs are bared and no prisoners taken. All is fair and just in war. He fought to the end and emerged a stronger foe. History would record this as a strength, rather than a weakness of morality

Saraki may be anything we despise and don't like but when the executive descends into a bowl of unsalacious grapes, and scraps around to bind and silence an important institution that is meant to check their own abuses, at least in theory, the society and justice should be on notice and wary. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely
I couldn't have said it better. What a submission!!!

What is the achievement of FASHOLA when you compare it with the huge revenue that comes to the state. Lagos is the former capital of Nigeria with huge local and foreign investors. I am anti APC but in all sincerity, Amaechi is the most competent minister in this administration.
Count down to May 29th, another one month has passed and all they achieved was bullying legislators with something that has no economic or social advantage to the Country.
From one drama to another.
Well in other to appear reasonable to zombies, I will join in the tag line.
