How did you depart Nigeria to the USA?
I finished my registration from here only to realize my courses are online, I don't know how CBP are to people entering the USA just to do online courses. Is it safe for me to travel with my courses completely online, I already have my student visa.
My school also has available in person classes which am trying to get at least one so I can travel.
I will appreciate responses to anyone that has answers to this questions.
Deegayes:
I finally heard the words “ welcome to America “ yesterday . After the hurdles faced since the start of corona , It was like music to my ears. Guys don’t give up yet , if your dream is to study in the US then keep pushing .

If Nigeria doesn't open up their airspace by the end of July or beginning of August, how can one go about it. like bus to take to cotonuo and the name of flight one should book to arrive in the USA.
Thanks

sheke01:
Hope for the best (Nigeria airspace reopen for international flight) but expect and plan for the worst (airspace doesn't open).

If by month end the airspace situation has not changed, move yourself to Contonuo and travel from there. My sister with Canadian immigrant visa had to do so recently.

I must warn you, that route will be freaking expensive so budget likewise

The US repatriation flight scheduled this month stated for only residents and citizens, how possible can a student follow through with the flight.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Legit215(m): 9:59am On Jul 14, 2020
So those of us with student visa that are stuck here due to flight. What's the best way to go about this, what type of flights are people using to leave as air space is closed.

Started this journey back in 2018
First attempt was hell so much denials that day/month. The VO was like whether to give me the visa or not... In essence be prepared.

First Attempt in November

VO: Name them
ME: I did
VO: How many rejects

ME: New York is the home of many tech giants and schooling there ……. Can’t remember much again
VO: Have you paid your I20 fee
ME: YES (but I had no clue of what she said)
VO: Can I see the receipt

VO: Who’s paying for this trip
ME: My dad
VO: What does he do
ME: He is an ***********
VO: What do you say he does
ME: Repeated it again
VO: Can I see his Statements
Me: Passed it over
VO: I will be verifying this to know if its false and if its you will be banned from the US should I proceed *looking at me straight in the eye (asked me twice) *
ME: Yes Ma, No problem
VO: So why school in the US
ME: The USA is the leader in many areas of technology and research especially in STEM courses like my major computer science. It is one of the most prestigious top ranked higher education systems in the world, and going to the US at this stage of my life will teach me how to be responsible and gain experience that will prepare me to face challenges anywhere in the world.
VO: When did you graduate from high school
ME: 2017

ME: Told her
VO: There’s no much inflow here
ME: That’s his savings account
VO: This statement only covers funds for one year
ME: Couldn’t say anything as I got confused, she was expecting 2 years or more
VO: Gives me a yellow paper, circling bank statement, I will be needing more statement
ME: Told her I have a letter from my Uncle as well stating to support me
VO: Let me see it
ME: Passes it over *an official letter*
VO: You stated that’s your dad sponsoring you not your uncle *a bit angry*

Let’s skip all this long talk without visa to the D-DAY
Second Attempt
Abuja Embassy
7:30 am
Visa approved: 28/02
Visa issued: 02/03
Passport collected: 03/03
Left home earlier than my previous interview 6:20 I guess, since it’s a 25 minutes’ drive but GOD had it planned out road was closed by the military I don’t know if our president was passing for them to close the road we were in a traffic jam till I guess 7:20, 10 minutes to my interview. I had to alight from my dad’s car and cross to the other side of the road where I saw a motorbike that helped me beat the traffic till I got to where was free from traffic to take a cab. Finally, got there by 7:45 on arriving those people where disturbing my passport is small bla…. Luckily again dad just arrived as they have opened the road, WOW. Went in for interview when it almost got to my turn I realized I haven’t done my biometrics so I was sent all the way back again…
Let’s fast forward to the main deal
VO: Why are you going to the US
ME: I am going to the USA for my bachelor’s degree in computer science at Jackson State University.
VO: Wow great answer, so how many schools did you apply to?
ME: Eight (cool Schools
VO: So, who’s paying for the trip
ME: My dad
VO: What does he do
ME: He is *********
VO: why didn’t he use ********* to fund your education since he works there
ME: It doesn’t work like that
VO: So how does it now work, have you tried?
ME: Honestly No
VO: So how does he intend paying
ME: Through his Salary
VO: Typing (he was just typing throughout the interview)
ME: smiley (kept smiling)
VO: What’s his grade level
ME: Told him
VO: Brings out the white paper, then said hold on (continued typing)
ME: longest two (2) minutes of my life
VO: Finally gives me the white paper circling the F1, go to window 4 and pay your reciprocity fee then come back here with the receipt and passport
ME: Thank you very much Sir, cheesy

Honestly don't know any excuse for not posting here earlier even though I was busy, visa approved last month February, undergraduate studies.

I guess my punishment I gave to myself is to compile the whole of visa transcript from the previous thread part 14.

So for the Undergraduates I know we have been following silently, but any questions be it evaluation, transcript, sevis, e.t.c I will gladly answer that's my way of giving back to this community.

Never forget even if it's undergraduate degree you are going for still come prepared as that's what they expect from you.

That's up to you to figure out... If the company you are working for is willing to write a statement of purpose of your trip and also stating that a spot is going to be kept for you awaiting your arrival or as you said before it will help in your promotion... All this only matters if you have a well paying job and worked with them for a while.
If you have an immediate family back here that's a plus one again.
Adibebenny:
please can you elaborate more on the family ties part,I don't understand how am going to do that...on the I-20 it's showing my father's name while in the statement of account its showing his business name

OK as far as it doesn't contradict the sponsor stated on the I20.
But try to work on family ties and re-apply

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Legit215(m): 12:42pm On Nov 04, 2019
That was a huge deposit made before your interview.
You have also a sibling I guess in the states.
So I guess your application is lacking family ties the VO was trying to see what will bring you after studies. That's why you where asked if your company is sponsoring you, how long you have worked there e.t.c.
So work more on your family ties and also why such huge amount deposited recently.
Thanks.
Adibebenny:
please house anyone with any idea what went wrong and if I should reapply...Good morning please I need your advice,I was denied my visa at the embassy this morning

He requested for my I-20 and passport

ques1:Why are you going for masters I said that am on of been promoted in the company as the corporate consultant and I also want to enhance my skills and knowledge as I have experience in sales and marketing and I want to boost my skills,he further looked at my passport and asked why didn't dubia stamp my exist and stamped only arrival ,I was shocked by the question but I said when I was leaving it wasn't stamped but it was stamped at the airport upon my return he said at where I said in Lagos.
ques 2:he asked how long i spent there i said 1 week he said am I sure I said yes and further said it was 5working days although I went Jun 28 and left July 5th 2019.
quest:Did you take any test,I said yes what's the score 272
quest 3:He said is my company willing to allow me leave for 2years I said yes he asked how long have i been working there I told him I started working in 2015 he said is it the company that want to sponsor me I said no but my father he said what does he do I told him he has his company he works for ministry of housing as a contractor and a supplier of solar panel he requested for the bank statement which I gave to him although the bank statement is for 4 pages but my dad had money inside although my brother in USA sent 5million to the account last week with his name the guy checked the first page,2nd,3rd,last and 1st page again before typing plenty and giving me the green slip....i just didn't know where I went wrong although I have applied for visit visa 2years ago i don't know where I went wrong, should I reapply? am confused.
