PoliticsRe: A Better Name for Nigeria? by legs(f): 7:43am On Sep 07, 2005
rename nigeria?

reminds of tinubu's first term when he went around renaming streets, estates and even the lagos state anti-robbery squad; no prizes for guessing that the streets are in even worse conditions and that the police are even more pathetic...

CareerRe: Can Lawyers Practice Without Lying? by legs(f): 8:12pm On Sep 02, 2005
personally, i think almost everyone who has posted here has been watching too much matlock or something, i for one think that real law as practised, is a lot less far-fetched than as you guys imagine it to be.

shuwepps? huh seun? why did u generalise comments by women as pettiness and back-biting I'm certain most of the ladies on this forum admitted that Okonjo is really a remarkable woman; and everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. They had already admitted that she is doing a great job towards improving our country's financial situation and that she could just extend her hand of improvement to her wardrobe.

For some people her looks may be irrelevant while I guess for some, its simply a case of "the-eye-eating-before-the-mouth" there really was no need to go local (spitting on the floor, I found it a bit amusing though)

Seun I do not doubt that; (neither do I doubt your ability to roll out some statistics in support at the drop of a hat! wink) so what exactly is your point? Cos I clearly remember stating previously that women who will take matters into their own hands are likely to go ahead and do it without giving prior warning; I definitely did not mean to imply that the percentage of women who are victims of d.v is neglible!

I want a man who will always make me laugh; a man who will always make me smile and [glow=red,2,300]glow[/glow] from within. A man whose presence will make my troubles melt away, a man I can fight with and make up with. I want a man who will understand me, a man I can express myself to, but one who will understand me even when I can’t. I want a man who will think I am still sexy after years of marriage, after I have borne his children. A man I can turn on with a smile and who is [glow=red,2,300]amazing in bed [/glow] (and out of it… wink). I want a man who can knock boots till I am in a daze, someone who will stay on my mind night and day.

I want a gentleman with a streak of fun and adventure who will woo and court me all through our marriage. I want a man who will stay close to me during childbirth; so that I can feel the same love I felt when we conceived the child. I want a man who will cuddle me and his children, a man who will be his children’s friend. I want a hard working that will wash plates if that’s what it takes to feed me and his children.

BUT THEN AGAIN WE ALL KNOW THAT IT’S NOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN LIFE THAT YOU GET!
FamilyRe: Wife Beatings in Africa by legs(f): 9:46am On Aug 17, 2005
@ seun maybe u should consider the fact that d women who r not likely to tolerate battery from their husbands are also not likely to tell u what they would do if it happens. Do u think the woman that smashed her husband's kneecaps held a conference to discuss whether or not she should get back at her husband; and d exact sort of torture she should mete out to him? She just did it!

so seun dearie, its about action not talk; if a man is waiting for his wife to start threatening him before he stops beating her, he might just wake up one morning wondering why his crown jewels are not in their usual place.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Gender Inequality ("Men Always Like To Be Domineering") by legs(f): 3:36pm On Aug 16, 2005
Just a little question?

I believe in some parts of Igboland women are not allowed to participate in decision making. Not just in the household but where family decisions on matters such as burial ceremony arrangements, bridal dowry discussion, etc are being taken; such that a little boy may have a greater say than an older man just cos he is a boy.

In these times why should such decisions be restricted to men alone? Shouldn't women be allowed to indulge in the same decision making process; even in the presence of these men?

IAH u are just mischief itself grin

@ seun that was a bit harsh sha o! i am sure it was just a bit of clowning around, certainly nothing to warrant the general criticism against women.

but abeg i was hoping that the person that started this thread would be able to supply some more info on her, i would certainly like to know more about her.
