The poverty line in the U.S.A. is not arbitrarily defined, mind you. poverty get level Some1 earning above 200k per month in Nigeria that's 125$ per month is above poverty standard in Nigeria.. But someone earning 1,200$ per month in USA about 2m naira is in stinking poverty |

ivandragon: Good God... what is wrong with you people?
Can't you people stay on topic? Dangote and the government are justifying an increase in pms and dangote is using Saudi Arabia as an example and doing conversions to dollars to support his position.
My point is that currency conversions across countries are misleading and analysis should be done on peculiarities of each country independent of the other.
So what is the issue?
If you want to convert SAR to dollar, then convert dollar to Naira, then convert Naira to SAR then conver SAR to Naira just to determine if fuel is more expensive in Saudi Arabia when compared to Nigeria, that is your headache please.
When you go to Saudi, you don't earn in Naira, so such comparisons are exercises in futility. you where actually the one that changed topic bcus u found out that PMS is a little bit cheaper in Nigeria.... see abeg leave me, stop showing me shege online, the one Nigeria and Tinubu is showing me right now is enough |

I barely made $300 each month at that time but I saved up to buy that car since I needed one at the time. I had work and school, and there was no true bus system in the town at that time. 🤔
What part of that decision makes you think I had to have been a kid? 🤔 that is why I said only kid still eating mummy's food can do that na... when u r in college that u bought a car with barley making 300$, are you not eating mummy dash me |
Politics › Re: Is Petrol 40% Cheaper In Nigeria Than In Saudi Arabia As Claimed By Dangote by Lekan239(m): 7:26am On Sep 28, 2024 |
ivandragon: 1. Are there more public workers than there are private workers in Saudi Arabia? What is wrong in using the minimum wage applicable to majority of the population in a country? And I termed it 'average minimum wage is about...' so what's wrong with that?
2. The minimum wage of 70k I used for Nigeria in my write up, when was it increased? 1940 right?
3. If you don't understand analogy, then don't comment on things you don't understand. You expect me to start analysing rice, bread, cost of transportation in Saudi arabia for you when the topic was directly in relation to pms which I used accordingly? What stops you from doing your own analysis of the other goods and services in Saudi arabia and compare to Nigeria?
4. Where in my comment did I say the global economy is bleeding or not? It was a simple and straightforward analysis so that people like you are not deceived by all the talk about something being more expensive in another country and then start doing senseless analysis with conversions.
5. Read to understand so that you don't end up making comments that show a glaring absence of comphresion. minimum wage in Saudi is better and more improved than Nigeria's own that's fact.... but u are thinking it's better for you bcus u r in Nigeria. If u interview Saudi resident today u will also hear them wail about their minimum wake not okay to sustain their expenses. |
Politics › Re: Is Petrol 40% Cheaper In Nigeria Than In Saudi Arabia As Claimed By Dangote by Lekan239(m): 5:52am On Sep 28, 2024 |
Kobojunkie: Anyone can do it is the simple fact here! No need for the overcomplication of that which is simple. any1 can do it, but it's not expected... why would any reasonable person thinks getting a car on 1,200 dollar earnings per month is an ideal plan. Only kids does that.. Are you 1? |
Politics › Re: Is Petrol 40% Cheaper In Nigeria Than In Saudi Arabia As Claimed By Dangote by Lekan239(m): 5:47am On Sep 28, 2024 |
Kobojunkie: Says who? People on minimum wage can also save up to buy a car as well. yes some1 earning minimum wages who does not have any other responsibilities, or some1 who is still leaving with his parents can actually save up all his money and get a car.. and also continue saving up to maintain the car. |
Politics › Re: Is Petrol 40% Cheaper In Nigeria Than In Saudi Arabia As Claimed By Dangote by Lekan239(m): 5:32am On Sep 28, 2024 |
ivandragon: Hmm...
Most of these analysis that requires conversion from one currency to the other are often misleading and negate what truly matters, which is the purchasing power of the common man, primarily, the least paid workers.
A straightforward analogy which makes more sense is how much fuel can be bought with the minimum wage?
Also minimum wage that government The average minimum monthly wage in Saudi Arabia is about 4000 SAR. PMS averages at about 2.3 SAR per litre. So 4000 SAR gets you about 1700 litres of PMS.
In nigeria, with minimum wage at N70000 and pms averaging N1000 per litre, your minimum wage gets you 70 litres of pms.
Case closed. Any other calculations or conversions are just exercises in futility because the purchasing power of the masses in any country is what matters most.
Look at USA. Average minimum monthly wage is about $1200. Average pms price is $1 per litre. So minimum wage in USA gets you about 1200 litres of pms. good, but is the minimum wage meant to buy fuel alone,.. calculate other expenses too.... well some1 earning minimum wage any place in the word is not even expected too own a car Also minimum wage Saudi Arabia government pays is 3,000 SAR. Which was actually increased to that 3,000 this 2024... try too read well and gove accurate fact so people who are trying to japa won't think every other countries is heaven..... The global economy is bleeding.
