Business / 5 Amazing Business Ideas For Getting Into The Wedding Industry by leMuhito(f): 5:11am On Jan 09, 2018
For a couple, tying a knot means the beginning of a new life that promises utmost togetherness. But for an entrepreneur, this may mean some serious cash!

If floral arrangements, event planning, bridal registries, and all things filled with glamour attract you, why not turn this passion into a profitable business?

Starting your own business in the wedding industry is a lucrative idea. However, you should know which of the wedding businesses suit your expertise the most.

Can’t decide which business idea to choose from a myriad of options?

Let’s explore each one in detail.

1. Set Up A Fitness Bootcamp For Brides-To-Be

Getting ready for the “I do” moment may seem as easy as saying “yes” to the wedding proposal. But for brides-to-be, it goes beyond this. And they have a reason for that: feeling confident while looking their best on their big day is a dream of every girl.

For you, it’s a business opportunity.

Come up with a 4-week fitness bootcamp that is specifically designed for brides-to-be. Once you create a workout schedule, you can advertise about the bootcamp via social media channels.

2. Design Unique Wedding Invitation Cards

For choosy couples, creating a lasting impression on the guests is what wedding planning is all about! If you aim to cater to this niche, designing unique wedding invitation cards is the trick.

However, customization is the key. If you’re into graphic designing or simply love playing with colors, designs, and text, this is a great business opportunity to showcase the creative side of your personality while ensuring consistent income. To begin, get an idea from different wedding invitation templates

Phema:

Hahahahahaha. We (hubby and I) just couldn't be fooled one bit. Their aggressive marketing is top notch. The way they coin their words and make 1million naira look like 10kobo eeeehhhh. Like they can even afford it. cheesy cheesy. We kept insisting we didn't have money and the marketer attached to us said "but the form you filled says you work with ***. Okay, we could spread the payment over months with check".

We insisted we didn't even have our checkbook with us. The man suggested online transfer cheesy cheesy. I couldn't hold my laughter. My hubby was practically begging me not to make them look silly. We eventually left the conference room with me laughing my heart out and the said marketer following us. He followed us to the car and said "you say you can't afford the package but you use this kind of car". We didn't even respond as I continued in my wicked laughter. cheesy cheesy. And to think the said marketer was a man in his 60s. Obviously, a retiree trying to make ends meet. The very reason I did not give him a piece of my mind.

Have you noticed their agents ask you what you do for a living before they invite you? cheesy. Hunger wey go beat those people dey do press up.

Thanks for the heads up Phema. I for enter once chance with my hubby today if not for your post.

Quick fix is not always the best solution. Gained.

Mrpelumi1:
I beg you all to read this to the end, it might be of use to you!
I am actually a Young blogger and i started it in 2014 after i left secondary school... i worked for one person or another and i end up getting stories or getting scammed.. i then decided to stay on my own but nothing worked out because i bought several adsense which got disabled... just when i got an adsense account from a genuie source and i made my 2 months earnings $1300+ i got disabled again while waiting for my pin! that was in August 2015

I never loved betting, infact i hated people who do it i never knew i would fall a victim! in september 2015 my schoolmates introduced me to Bet9ja sport betting and the very first day i attempted it, i played with 1k and won N14,000 Little did i know that it was a welcome Notice! I used half of the money to buy a new pair of shoe.... and i took the rest the next day!
within 1 hour everything was taken away from me! I felt bad that day and i went back to my hostel. i kept on playing and loosing all my feeding allowances, food money, borrowed money, & hard earned money. The highest money i have ever won was 28k
Last week my uncle decided to send me 100k from USA through western Union and i decided to go and boost some of the money... i keep playing this thing not because i am addicted, but because i thought i can recover all the money i av loosed! and i see some people turn to instant millionares through bet9ja... Olamide, lilkesh, phyno and crazeclown supports it as been ambassadors to this bet companys!
I took 30k from the 100k my uncle sent to me to the bet shop last week and everything wooped away. i went to withdraw another 30k... it all went within the twinkle of an eye again... i went ahead t
o withdraw the last 40k and i only had 1k left to go back home. it sounds like i am the biggest fool of all time , but till now i cannot explain the spirit that pushed me to do so. I was just regreting and there was nothing more i could do.
Today Tought me the lesson of my Life! on wednesday my mom gave me 15k to keep for her when she travelled to ilorin she told me she was going to come back next week monday... so on thursday again, i was forced to go and play this thing.. i said within myself that i wont play with more than N1000 no matter the case only to find myself loosing the whole money as usual. then unfortunately, my mom called me that she was coming home on friday that i should get the money ready as she needs it to fuel her car and buy stuffs as she was going for a wedding i couldnt tell her anything because she trusted me and that is the only reason she gave me the money to keep! i started sending out messages to all friends on facebook 90% ignored me probably because i had one issue or another with them, i started selling all i had ...pages, groups, i even sold my phone at 3k just to raise money. finally i was able to raise N7000 ... My mom asked for her money this morning and i told her that i kept it in the bank that i was going to withdraw it from the bank... i went to bet9ja again to see if i can raise it to 15k and give her all the money without any stress. Everything went again as usual. That was when i knew that i am addicted and it is more like a curse i can break.

All i need is ADVICE! Should i forget all the money i have lost!

Treasury Bills Rate In Ghana Vs Nigeria

For those discouraged by the low treasury bills rate currently obtainable in Nigeria, Ghana might just be the next destination. Treasury bills in Ghana for the first week in January was 23% for a 1 year investment, 91 day yield is about 22.79% and 182 days yield now 24.35%.

Just like Nigeria, Ghana has been battling with a commodity bust that has made its currency one of the worst performing currencies in Africa.

Treasury bills rate in Nigeria has plummeted since the CBN changed its monetary policy stands and reduced the CRR to 20% and MPR to 11%. 90 days treasury bills rate in Nigeria 4.04%, 182 days 7.86% and 365 days 8.14%

Number 5, 6, 7 and 8 are completely FALSE.

Let's face it, Alexa is a business. They are owned by Amazon, and are more concerned about profits than rankings.

I'll give you an example:

If you have a ranking, say around 3-4 million, then you subscribe to Alexa's advanced metrics plan at $9.99 a month, you will see your ranking go from millions to under 100k within 3 to 4 days.

Do you imagine your traffic has simply exploded overnight? Nope! It's simply that their algorithm favors paid subscribers.
If you doubt it, feel free to pay for one month and see what happens.

They have the ability to offer accurate traffic tracking, but they refuse to do so, except it is paid for.

Very true

Billyonaire:
Please, where in the write up did it state that the naira will be devalued ?

leMuhito:
CBN to review banks’ dollar position

The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday said the central bank would review the amount banks could hold in dollars as their trading positions in the foreign exchange market.

Emefiele stated this in a telephone interview with Bloomberg.

He said the CBN had in December stopped banks from holding any amount of their shareholders’ funds in dollars to curb speculative attack on the naira.

The CBN governor, however, said the measure was only a stop-gap action to stabilise the naira.

He added that the central bank would review the amount banks could hold in dollars as their forex trading positions in due course.

Emefiele said, “There will be a review in due course. But I can tell you categorically it will no longer be one per cent. It will be less than one per cent. The reason we put a stop to one per cent is because we felt that it was too large to be held by banks as a trading position.”

The governor also said the CBN had no plans to change another rule adopted around the same time that dollars bought in the interbank market should be used within 48 hours or sold to the central bank.

He said the naira is “currently appropriately priced” and no new measures were being considered.

Emefiele added, “We are satisfied with the current adjustment that’s been done. It remains a free entry and free exit market.”

The naira has been battered by crude prices, which have dropped more than 50 per cent since June.

The naira depreciated almost 11 per cent in the past three months, the most among 24 African currencies tracked by Bloomberg.

The CBN had last month introduced several measures to bolster the national currency.

On November 25, the central bank devalued the naira by eight per cent and raised the benchmark interest rate by 100 basis points in a bid to stem capital outflows and defend the naira

It also increased private sector deposits Cash Reserve Ratio from 15 to 20 per cent, i

However, analysts have said the measures implemented by the regulator had made it difficult for foreign investors to exit their holdings.

The Head, African strategy, Standard Chartered Plc, Samir Gadio, said, “There’s a risk that these measures last as long as the central bank feels it doesn’t have the ability to control the exchange rate,” he said by phone from London yesterday, before Emefiele announced the review.

But Emefiele said, “That is news to me that foreign investors are unable to exit their positions.

“If any foreign investor needs to exit its position, he should make a demand to a bank. If the bank cannot find those dollars to buy in the interbank market, the central bank will provide the dollars.”

It was also learnt that the CBN might devalue the naira after the elections in February

But the CBN governor said, “The elections have nothing to do with our decisions. We look at the economy, we look at what’s happening in the banking system and the foreign exchange market.”

Business / How To Use Difficult Employees To Increase Your Business Revenues in 2015 by leMuhito(f): 11:00am On Jan 01, 2015

The Yorubas of South-Western Nigeria have a proverb: omo buruki l’ojo t’ire meaning “every bad person has his own day.” This proverb underlies the fact that some people could be incurably bad and difficult, but there will be a day when they badness will be the saving grace that people around him need.

Hold on! If you have a very stubborn and steely child, would you throw him out to the dogs? Would you disown him and leave him to injure himself because he is bad news? Of course not, you would find a way to manage him and even explore ways to help him channel his energies into more positive things. A difficult but brilliant employee could be so helped to be of value to the business if you’d only manage him and teach him to channel his energies to the good of his organisation.

What then do you need to do?

1. Give them a target to achieve: You may not realise this, but stubborn and difficult people have a steely determination to exert themselves and have their way in everything, and you only need to set them a goal to get them ticking away like a clock. Give a difficult employee something of challenge to do and you’d see him eager to prove himself. Difficult people are not necessarily unreasonable, they only want to do things their way and you must help them see the need to help your business in this light.

5 Ultimate Money Managing Tips For Students

Money Managing TipsMoney tends to finish too fast – I have no doubts you have long since noticed that. No matter how much or little money you have, one fine day when you least expect it, you realize that you are short of cash. Students, who are for the most part not financially independent yet (and at the same time, too young and inexperienced to handle their limited funds properly), are somehow more prone to those unexpected shortages. But I hope that older people whose school days are far back may also benefit from these money managing tips.

1. “Monitor and control”

That was the slogan that Vladimir Lenin, the leader of Russian revolution, proclaimed in one of his works devoted to Russian economy reconstruction and management almost a century ago. And he was right: his tip still works. What’s more, it applies to your small scale home economy as well. Try to write down and then analyze all your daily, weekly, monthly expenses, and you’ll be surprised If not shocked to find out how much money you spent on things you do not really need or could easily do without. Now, cut down those expenses, and here you go: you’ve got a few bucks you can spend on things that you really need. So, what are the little secrets that help you make your money last longer? Please read ahead.

2. Plan ahead

Yes, do it: make up your mind on what you need, make shopping lists – and follow them strictly. Plan how much money you can afford to spend on food, clothes etc. – and don’t go beyond the budget. Never carry more cash that you plan to spend when you go out: you know how people are, they see some piece of clothes or something else and decide that that is love at first site and that they must have it, and have it NOW. But once you bring that much-desired object home, you find out that you don’t like it all that much somehow, and that it was a mistake, after all, to buy it – you know the situation from your own experience, don’t you? Please don’t misunderstand me: I don’t call upon you to become yet another relation to Uncle Scrooge. Life’s too short, so do allow yourself those little treats that make it worth living when you really want or need them: buy yourself that ice-cream, or chocolate, or beer, if that is what you want. Or go out with your friends. Only that, make sure those self-indulgence sessions do not repeat too frequently or cost you too much. Or better still, plan them too, like, that’s the amount of money that I can afford spending on trifles this week – and never go beyond your treats budget as well!
