Where did buhari see the 1trillion he spent on refineries without results?

Is there any country in the world that has enough money?

Do they all implement SAP because they don't have enough money?
Or where did OBJ see $16bn for power project that was wickedly embezzled?

We fail to agree that corruption, nepotism (which breeds incompetence) and explosive population growth are the major causes of Nigeria's problem.

'we are not making enough money, yen yen yen'. The little we have was mismanaged, so what's the guarantee that the freed up funds from all subsidies removal will be judiciously used?

Jesus said, "he that is faithful in little, will be faithful in much. He that is unfaithful in little, will be unfaithful in much'.

Solomon said, "when goods are increased, they are increased who eat them'

So it's clear that corruption is Nigeria's main problem, whether she has little or much.

Nobody is talking about population growth.
This is a very big concern bros. And nobody is talking about it.

Economy grew by 5% under IBB according to the article, but the population increase of 3% made the effect of the said growth insignificant.

festacman:
Tuition fee never enter the list. So it will still increase more.

It is important to state that the student loan scheme is a ploy to introduce tuition to Federal Universities to free up more money for politicians to spend. It is never an act of improving human development. It is all about money.

By the way, unless the economy picks up real quick, this Student loans scheme will likely end up like petroleum subsidy. Millions of unemployed and unemployable graduates who are beneficiaries will be unable to repay the loan. Ultimately, the World Bank and IMF will 'advise' FG to stop the loan scheme because trillions of Naira remain unrecovered.

NB - We don't have to copy and paste other countries programs. Let us develop home-grown ideas to meet our needs.
Unable to pay up which loan? I doubt a good number of students will have access to it in the first place.

grin grin

I find it largely amusing how you nairalanders always sit in the comfort of your homes and confidently speak rubbish on things you have no iota of idea about.

That is, you get mind come online dey argue my village and state with me? Are you bloody serious right now?!

Use this pitiable sense of confidence to go research the region I explicitly mentioned. No Governor has ever dared to stray beyond the limits of his office to the kingship stools of not just Ugep, but all the other villages in Yakurr LGA. Decades ago, an Army barrack was situated in Ugep, military officers began to be irresponsible and highhanded, the entire barrack was dislodged from the village by the indigenes and the State Administrator then could do nothing.

During Buhari's first tenure, Okoi Obono Obla who's a son of the soil, feeling he was wielding gigantic political influence at the Federal level, made the mistake of attempting to invade and desecrate the palace with the DSS and Mobile Policemen, the invasion was not only resisted, but he was put in his place to the point he crawled back to the palace on his knees seeking forgiveness.

Oga, make una dey argue wetin una sabi! Certain monarchies existed long before even colonisation was ever conceived by the perpetrators. And the sanctities of those stools still linger to this day. No Governor can ever desecrate or balkanize the royal stool of my ancestral home!
I hear you loud and clear oga.
CultureRe: Ifa Doesn't Pick Yoruba Kings, Only Governors Do - Oluwo Of Iwo by LeopardX: 4:20pm On Jun 17, 2023
Buddha3:
This is why certain monarchical stools in Nigeria hold no societal relevance.

In Yakurr LGA of Cross River where I come from, the Obol Lopon (King) of Ugep is picked through a sacred traditional ritual that is performed by the Chief Priest and Kingmaker. The three maternal clans who have historically been christened for the stool are gathered, and whether there be 60 people in attendance, the chief priest throws the coronation towel of the gods that floats until it settles on the shoulder of the one who's chosen.

Once that's done, no single soul utters a word in argument or defiance. The king is crowned and can be on that stool for 50years or more, depending on what the gods deem fit, according to his well rounded earthly behaviour and handling of the stool.

No governor or political leader has a bloody say over who sits on that stool. The only time the Governor does the selection based on popular votes or opinion is when one king is to be crowned the paramount ruler of all other village kings in my LGA.

All these 21st century half-baked monarchies being decided by politicians is the reason people like Ganduje can wake up and disgrace a whole Emir, then balkanize his kingdom.. huh. Tomorrow una no go allow us hear something with nonsensical bragging!
Oga i put it to you, that whether appointed by the gods/oracles or not, any traditional ruler that go against the state government and incite the crowd also, will not last.

Sanusi simply bit more than he could chew versus Ganduje, overestimating his importance in the process. We know how it all ended.

Go figure, no traditional ruler goes against state government, regardless of party.

In the last decade, only Sanusi tried it and we know how it ended.

Lol. I'm not saying they won't be paid. I'm saying the time of the next payment and the duration of the programme itself is no longer predictable.

Last week, you said you knew someone on the inside who told you payment would be made this week.

Hello! Today is the last day of the said week and no show.

Summary of all I've been saying so far: C2 will surely be paid quite alright. But no one knows the time. Not you, not Ezenwaez, not the social media handlers of NPower, not your guy on the inside, and definitely not me.

Help me tell them! Nigerians talk like the UK and US are the only countries in the world with examples of good governance. They feel that because governance in those countries is expensive then it must be the same in Nigeria. Health care in most EU countries is cheap. Health care in the middle east is free for their citizens. Even Latin American countries like Brazil and Argentina have free health care. The aforementioned countries also have subsidized tuition free education for their own citizens but Nigerian will never look at those options. They are focus on the UK, US, Canada or Australia that are very capitalist in nature . Nigerians need to think for themselves and stop with this copy cat syndrome.
It's sickening my bro. They just want us to be blind supporters of government policy. And i can't be a party to that.
Christianity EtcRe: Deeper Life Pastors Destroying My Family by LeopardX: 12:07pm On Jun 14, 2023
The Church's (Deeper Life) doctrine on marriage should be reviewed, especially when it concerns things that had already been done before the convert became a Christian and/or a member.

King Ahasuerus in the bible divorced Vashti before marrying Esther the queen. We keep quiet on that.

We know Moses married an Ethiopian woman before he married Zipporah (a Midianite). Life goes on.

The church should not interfere in marital history of new members provided there are no obvious issues between all parties concerned.

The first wife has moved on. The man has moved on. The children have moved on. Even God himself may have moved on and may not lay those mistakes to his charge.

So why creating problems again?

it's for his own good.
Restituion must be made as God only acknowledges the first union and your dad and his first wife are one in God's sight.
If your dad has truly repented and come to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ then he will and must go back to the first wife irrespective of whatsoever led to the divorce.
I don't know much about the fate of the second wife
I'm a deeper Life member myself and personally, i don't think this is right.

There's a saying that "if it ain't broken, don't fix it.". If he's content to live with the second wife and at least try to make the ex-wife comfortable, then so be it.

If God wanted him to do the 'right thing', let Him reveal it to the man himself and not pastors coming to dabaru everything.
