Johnkay01:Kogi (verb intransitive): To withhold or deny earned wages and allowances of employees. "We'll kogi anyone that insists on joining that trade union", said the MD |
happney65:A Trump wannabe perhaps? |
GrabHisBalls:Okay, serial philanderer then. Are you more comfortable now? |
drinoayo:Good analysis, "judge". But you can't say oral evidence would be discounted just because they are coming from relatives? Who else would a teenager turn to if she falls into trouble? and, if I recall correctly, she mentioned a couple of other church leaders who also intervened at that time, one of them even falling-out with Fatoyinbo. By the way, is Fatoyinbo saying it was consensual? I thought his defense is It Didn't Happen? You may be a judge and I'm just a layman, but I detect a conservative, patriarchal mindset here. We are talking here of abuse of a girl-child by some towering, mentor-spiritual-guide-father figure, and modern justice systems in most civilized climes are getting sensitized to do their best to protect our vulnerable children. You are also wrong about how your corollary (the boxing glove case) would be decided elsewhere. In America, I can bet you that that husband would have been a jail bird - and the police would have produced the gloves in court for sure. |

Hi Johnson. A friend of mine recently imported a 2014 camry through Grimaldi RoRo and the key got missing there. Suspected stolen by a driver that drove it off the liner. They had to tow the car to his house and he spent a greet deal of money making new keys. Is this a common occurrence, and do you have any solution to the problem? |
I'm in the market for a Volvo XC90 now. If you have any more stock, post here please Sakaslim: |
naijanaso:Your update please. Did you eventually buy this SUV and if you did, is it all that you expected? I'm seriously eyeing the Volvo xc90 too. Problem is not many available in the market. Looks like models '03 to '13 are the same basically. |
Many people would argue that the growing rash of ritual killings for money in this country is a result of growing poverty. But one notes that poverty is not new in our land. We had a lot of poverty growing up 30, 40, 50 years ago. But I can't recall a single case of ritual murder for money in those years. What is new is that there is growing gap between the poor and the rich - due mostly to the rich growing far richer than they used to be. Also, due to greater mass communications, people pick up quickly on whatever is being propagated or what is "trending". What have been trending a lot these days are yahoo yahoo, kidnapping, ritual money (murder). But ritual money is underpinned by aspects of traditional belief system which claim that things could be procured through spiritual or "voodoo" means. People haven't actually SEEN any evidence that it happened, but stories abound and many are ready to wager their right arm in defense. Some people even believe that to impugn this belief system is to deny our African roots, even when it should be obvious that they are not doing us any good. They resist to take a world view of things. "This is Africa", they say! Some people capitalize on the intriguing phenomenon for material gains, and these include all the traditional medicine men and, notably, Nollywood. Nollywood has played a pivotal role in refocusing the minds of the masses on this black magic thing. Without Nollywood, the younger generation would be generally oblivious of the subject. They smile to the banks, that is what matters to them. It's so shocking the way Nollywood continues to propagate these dangerous superstitions. The way the industry appears to relish and thrive in those "black power" concepts, without any effort to redirect the minds of viewers that it is all fiction and NOT fact, is irresponsible and dangerous for society. We all see the result. It is also sad to note the regulatory authorities don't seem to see anything wrong with it. In a sane society, Nollywood films may contain those negative stuff, but every one of such films should end on a note disabusing the minds of the young and the gullible on the reality of what was depicted in the film. Vast majority of the audience are ignorant, and gullible. They soak up whatever they watch on tv and whatever their clerics feed them. I am equally shocked when some law enforcement people publicly address the issue of ritual homicide. They condemn the criminals when they are paraded, but they make no effort to dispel the notion of money ritual killing as a way to make money. Which suggests that they themselves believe it is in fact real, but only unlawful. Which brings me to the aspect of Leadership (Government). Our leaders seem to limit themselves to a very narrow scope of responsibility to society. People in authority in this country fail to provide real leadership in many areas, this subject matter being one of such. Good leaders wont allow their societies to drift into crisis, and when crisis ensues, leaders must delve into the root cause(s), and take action to solve the crisis. In this case, the reason people are being hacked to death is because of the superstitious belief in ritual money. We should see our Police, LG Chairman, Governor, President come out and dispel the notion that you can make money by killing a human being (or any being for that matter), and taking the body part to a stupid wretched looser hiding away in some bush, who lives by the little money he can crook out of you. Nollywood fulling the crisis, Government in a conspiracy of silence; that's where we are. But then, leaders must be people who are truly enlightened, forthright and able to rise above primordial mental fixations like such superstitions' That's my humble opinion. Say yours |
Shukusheka:Very true. It's so shocking the way Nollywood continues to propagate these dangerous superstitions, and even the regulatory authorities don't seem to see anything wrong with it. Nollywood films may contain those negative stuff, but every one of such films should end on a note disabusing the minds of the young and the gullible on the reality of what was depicted in the film. The way the industry appears to relish and thrive in those "black power" concepts, without any effort to redirect the minds of viewers that it is all fiction and NOT fact, is irresponsible and dangerous for society. I am equally shocked when some law enforcement people publicly address the issue of ritual homicide. They condemn the criminals, but they make no effort to dispel the notion of money ritual killing as a way to make money. Which suggests that they themselves believe it is in fact real, but only unlawful. If we carry on like this, the scourge will continue to grow. More lives will continue to be needlessly wasted. This is why Africa is still so backward. When the vast majority, including the leaders, can't even free their minds from primordial mental fixations. So sad. |

Offer-Up, Let-Go troubles continue to frustrate. Please, experts in the house, recommend me the surest VPNs - free or paid - for Windows desktop to access OfferUp, LetGo permanently. All these Opera VPN and Puffin stuff don't seem to work for me on Android phone. Thanks in advance |

LexngtonSteele:You're right. If she actually "confessed", then it was under duress or she's mentally sick. Investigate those she's supposed to have "eaten", you'll find they died of illness or other causes, not witchcraft, which doesn't exist. |
Vickiweezy:You're a fool too, because from your comments, you too believe it works. And I bet it won't take much to persuade you to try it. Op, please be properly guided; MONEY RITUALS DO NOT WORK. Only ignoramuses would believe it works, just like they believe every other rubbish like sowing seeds, love charms, odeshi, magic, witchcraft, etc, etc. Take it from me, you're on the right path of cultivating a clear, uncluttered, free and futuristic, universally oriented mindset. I'm a senior, and I've been like this since chdhood. And I come from one those notoriously "diabolical" areas. I was less than ten years old when I started questioning and testing everything, after the native rainmaker failed to hold back rain for my great dad's funeral. I've also caught people burying fetish objects on behalf of pastors, only to arrange a paid prayer mission in the near future to "divinely" locate and unearth them. You'll know that these things don't work by the way the western world regard us when we make noise about them. They laugh us to scorn, because they themselves overgrew such centuries ago, when science was in infancy. Some people would tell you, ah, this is African o! As if it's not the same natural laws that rule the entire universe. Evil is in people's minds, nowhere else. It's natural laws that are in effect in everything you observe, except when evil minded people act contrary. |
Joshmedia1:I'm interested. What's your rate, and how do we proceed? |
Hate speech is terrorism. So said our Ag. President. I like that categorization. |
UnchangeableGod:Hate speech is what it is - hateful, and dangerous and detrimental to peace and national cohesion and harmony. If you don't have any good or helpful thing to say, keep the fvck quiet. If you are aggrieved about something, take your issue to the appropriate authorities. |
ikorodureporta:That's overdue already. Too many hateful mofos loading N100 recharge card to spew rubbish on the social media. They should not only be banned instantly, but their IP and SSID should be displayed to identify their sorry ass. |
