In a just society, this kind of deceptive marketing strategy should attract severe sanctions. Imagine my disappointment when I walked into a GoTv rep at Computer village and they told me I was wrong about the advertised price. That the package was N2,900 and one-month sub N1,500. I then told the guy that came to N4,400, not N4,500, and he rudely said "take it or leave". If it wasn't Christmas eve and if I hadn't promised my kids, I would have left. On my way home, I searched the web on my mobile, and still saw it clearly, whole package + 1 month GoTv plus sub, for N2900. This morning, I got a call from GoTv and the lady was still trying to convince me that the advert said GoTv decoder only for N2900. We are in a country where anything goes; the govt is inflicting and exploiting on its citizens, the corporates are inflicting and exploiting on the populace, and there is no advocacy for the common man. |
onitshaigbo:Far be it from me to insult, so let me just describe a; Genus: capra Species: hircus Gender: male Notable feature: long beard ![]() |
What did Tinubu smoke on Sunday? ![]() |
laykorn:No mind him. Wait and see reactions from places like China. Im for just maintain "don't ask, don't tell". "Get Over It" |
okosodo:It is NOT muslim-muslim that will govern Nigeria if they win - it will be Buhari-Fashola. The one a strict disciplinarian/anti-corruption crusader, and the other a great strategist/planner/organizer. I don't see where religion comes in there. You have christian-muslim now, are we any better for it? Wise-up Nigerians, before we sink!! |
You are abolutely right, and I don't know why nairalanders are not commenting on this post. It is really exploitatory. The messages are superfluous and annoying sometimes. Some give you weekly, monthly reports whether you like it or not. Change this government to a more responsive, people-caring regime. That's the crux of it,because the masses have no voice, and the leaders are too busy lining their own pockets to care. |
Dottune: Which Controlled Demolition? So they planted explosives you you say? Then why the building collapse and not Explode?Slip of tongue - he meant to say "implosives" were planted. That's why the building did not explode but "implode" (collapse)! |
jedisco: It's funny when people say Buhari/Fashola ticket and ask people to be logical all in thesame sentence.Your position on Fashola strengthens the proposal - or do you know that he'd be offended by an offer of a VP ticket? On your second point, you speak for yourself. Buhari is known across the length and breadth of this country, and he has come the closest to winning than any other opposition candidate. Even in the minds of the PDP juggernauts, the mention of the name Buhari raises palpitations, because of what he is known to stand for - see the analysis made earlier above by beopened. Take someone like me; a Xtian Ibo, late 50s, apolitical (at least non-partisan), but wants what's best for my country and for my children going forward. I have seen and lived through a lot, including the Buhari/Idiagbon era, and I have no doubt in my mind that we have narrowed our problems down to bad governance (to wit, indiscipline and large scale corruption). I also know that no one has all his being focused on tackling this problem more than Buhari does. It should make no difference if he is Fulani, or Tuareg,or prays to a tree or doesn't pray at all, as long as we are assured of his devotion to that singular task. And there are signs you'll know someone is so denoted in that regard; you'll see it is his demeanor, in his lifestyle, his acquisitions, his pastimes, his family's public profile. Fashola may reflect good governance, but he hasn't acquired comparable reputation in that regard. He is a bit of an establishment man. But he has lots of other complementing qualities that would make the duo dynamite. Granted, the current Northern insecurity hasn't helped Buhari's public perception, but i tell you, if we miss the opportunity again this time, we'd miss the train for a long long time. Pity a lot of people are beclouded with sentiments, emotions, unfounded perceptions and prejudices. But, unfortunately, the only ones who seem to see through it all are the very perpetrators of bad governance. |
cktheluckyman: A muslim-muslim ticket will never fly in today's nigeria!!! This is not 1993!! Too many blood ave been shed in the last few years on religious crisis in the north not to mention the ongoing boko haram crisis!! Flying a muslim-muslim ticket in 2015 will amount to political suicideIn practical terms, religion is absolutely irrelevant. Christians and moslems are co-conspirators in looting the treasury, and undermining national institutions. It's only the poor man on the street who thinks religion religion! Buhari/Fashola will be a terrific challenge to PDP, and a ray of hope for our dear country. I am non-partisan, a Xtian, andabove all, a patriot. |
Mintayo: This singular act of Pastor Chris- divorce and seperation of couple can make him lose eternity-heaven!That's crux of the matter. All these great "men of God", they know something you the flock dont know ![]() |
dipo2much: the guy dey shag other women. Man of God. BastardB4 nko? All that frying of hair and bleaching and $1000 suits na for wetin? Wife wey dey yonda? The dude is flamboyant and vain. Wont be surprised if he has ho.s in every area code. I saw this trouble over 12 years ago when I allowed my wife to drag me to that church. On the few occasions she visited I saw that the poor lady struggled for his attention, and was somewhat sad. And before you knew it she would be heading back to UK. I told my wife that something was amiss with that marriage. Am perceptive like that. But great multitudes still flock to his feet, including my own other half, and that is what tortures me. |
tomiobj: It's true there are chemicals used to stop rain(refer to google). Just like the Chinese did during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The problem is that m nt sure if they do it in nigeriaThere are chemicals used to CAUSE precipitation (rain of snow-fall), not to stop rain. The only way to stop rain is to cause precipitation in a particular area ahead of the time you don't want rain there. That's what the Chinese did for the 2008 Olympics opening, and during the events. Now "rainmakers", just like ritual money doublers and multipliers, are fraudsters who prey on the ignorance and superstition that permeate our society. They do not know a thing about the subject, and CANNOT do a thing about it. You need an aircraft or a rocket filled with Silver Iodide or some other cloud seeding agent to achieve that, not chanting abracadabra from a rickety hut. I am village born and bred and I have seen it all. Julius Berger or any engineering firm worth its name would never go that way, rather they go the Met office and subscribe to detailed dynamic weather forecasts for their area of operation. It's disturbing that an overwhelming majority of us still believe these things. Enlighten up, people! |
Symphony007: We have list of richest actors,musicians,royals,buisnessmen,etc....but there is something deeply troubling about pastors having a rich list. What will christ who had to bless five loaves of bread and two fishes to feed thousands say? It's just the same as in any business - top dogs always climb to the top of the food chain. It's only their followers who are in the dark about this basic fact - that they (the followers) are FODDER! |
Obynowhite: Something is not just adding up 1st sanusi accused the government of fraud to the tune of over $49 billion and in less than two weeks he hurriedly recanted his statement after been pressured by powers from above now in less than a month the president is querying him. Let us see as the story unfolds. Just thinking *witch hunting tins*Thought I read somewhere in that post that the query was issued and replied to in May. Or are u so much in a hurry to comment that u don't finish reading the post? |
Last-minute subscription: BBUM3 didnt work on my droid, but BBUM worked. So 6Gig wasnt possibe. Only 2Gig N1,500. Going out to shoot crackers! |
Pąρǃ_T℮℮zy:Somebody had earlier advised that some people may not be able to renew, and he said to test it out one should do a small subscription like the N100 BB plan, and check where the data goes; if it goes into Account A10, then it would work (*123*123#). I did and checked mine, and the data went into A9 instead. So I am afraid to commit N3000 now. Please can you let me know which account your 6G data is in? |
This whole story must be a joke. |
Abel202: [b]My dear let me home you in on how economics, politics and religion mix here:Agree with your economic analysis. But how long do you think that show will go on for, before the bubble bursts on the scam? There have been precedents, you know. For examples, Father Elele down SE, Oral Roberts and a couple of others in the USA. |
martyns303: We all believe in something, that's what makes us humans. So pardon Madam President for being human. She can be "human" in her own time! Being in State House is serious business, and it is for serious minded people. |
speedyboi: 7 months old ke?I am sure that's how u were born - they kicked ur ma in the mid-section, and that caught u in the face, and then d bitch gave birth to u. Insensitive dumbo! |
Toktee: All buhari haters are from one section of the country, these people are known for their tribalism and religious fanatism, that is why they remain political stagnant.Your statement above is fallacious due to wide generalization. There are Buhari haters even from the core North. Just as there are Buhari lovers even from that "section of the country" you have in the back of your mind - yours truly for example. Buhari haters can be divided into two groups - the ignorant ones, and those who want the rot to continue. It is that simple. Happy Birthday Great Statesman. Please do not give up on Nigeria. |
Pastor Kun: The Pastor Oseni must have been drunk when he made that statement. He should first repent from the tithe fraud perpetuated in his church before he thinks of ridding Lagos of criminals.Tithe FRAUD, holy water FRAUD, deliverance FRAUD, FATAL indoctrination FRAUD!!! |
geeez: No matter what side of the fence you are on, you must give it to BRFOr Except you drive around in Oshodi LGA! The most static, the most backward, the most inept (probably the most corrupt) LGA in Lagos State! |
Thank you for this thread - in fact I wanted to start one similar on my own, but I haven't seen how to start a thread on Nairaland. Maybe I am not yet qualified. Anyways, I have no experience with Jumia, but I have dealt with Konga since last Thursday night, before the "Fall Yakata". That night I ordered a lcd tv, and it's now six working days since then, and nothing has happened. Website says "Track your Order", but I dont see anything except "Verified Interswitch". It has been like that since last Friday. Call them, they 'll simply say my order is yet to ship, and can't offer any more info. I also ordered the Huawei Ascend W1 for N10,500 last Friday. I must have been among the first to order at that price because it remained at that price thru out Monday. On tuesday they posted a N12k price for it. Today Thursday, I got a brief email saying order cancelled, item unavailable! They 4got to mention the money I already paid for it! The main areas they fail woefully are; (1) in the inventory management - it should be a simple matter to auto-update stock as orders are placed, so that you dont tell somebody who has paid that you are out of stock. Imagine the resources involved in resolving tens if not hundreds of such situations. (2). in order processing; they promised delivery within 5 working days. But 5 days will come and go without delivery. Worse still, you dont receive any information, even when you go out of your way to seek it either on the portal, or by calling them up. There are many other subtle ways you get the feeling that these guys can't give you reliable services. I have had many years experience ordering stuff all over the world, including of recent, China, both personal, commercial and industrial items, so I thought if some Nigerians have mustered the courage and resources to start a mail order business right here, why not give them a try. I guess I 've been too optimistic and too quick to trust our Naija. I 've read some positive testimonies, but quality has to be systemic, not a few flashes in the pan. @Mods; I wish you could make a thread of this my post. So many people may be in the same boat. |
segzyndpep: Please nairalander do you still pay nepa bill? What do you mean? Did you not get October bill a couple of weeks ago, and did you go to ur NEPA office and find it empty? They are even more vicious now in my area. I got N8,000 bill instead of the usual 3k - 4k. The called it "new management"! |
Polio: That is a real G right there ... Fashola is different class!Got that right, man. a DIFFERENT class of polititian! BRF for President! (Mark you, I am Anambrarian!) |
It's 6 minutes into 3rd Dec, and I had just successfully resubscribed my 1 month Unlimited BB sub about 10 min earlier! Talk of taking risks! I had 106 MB left of the previous sub. Now my A10 shows 22620 MB, ie 2.26GB. If you see this post, it means KAYSWAG100 is right - it still works (so far at least). |
piaget+skinner:I think from Cotonou, about N2.2m - N2.4m if low mileage and no accident, no flood. But, N1.2m is a joke |
kayswag100: From 3rd December, all legacy bb subscriptions would be moved to dedicated account 9. by subscribers(don't ask how we'd know. We've got apps ppl!!!). dedicated account 10 would then only house regular data subscriptions. This is how simplified I can put it.Pls could you explain some more how it would be possible to use existing subs after the account separation on 3rd Dec, considering "This account is programmed to work ONLY if the system detects a bb phone being used" You can go as technical or "back end" as necessary. |
Chlbenze: need more experience contributors here, has any use the eco banks dom account?Ecobank is probably cheaper, from what I have read here of other banks, and they will even give you option to pay the charges from your naira account. But I dropped their dollar card because of lousy accounting. I think Ecobank could be the best in Dom acct. because it is a transnational bank. |
Sunny_bobo: Winner oh! oh!! oh!!! Winner! This is your country going down in quicksand, and here you are oblivious of your own impending demise along with it. Open your eyes, man. I am Igbo too, and I weep. Even Odua herself should weep, because no one will like what we are coming to as a nation. |
