Hello to you prospective otondos, to those who are to serve in the 2015 NYSC Batch A the following is a checklist of what you should have done , what you should do and what you should do soon.

As you all know your orientation Camp commences on the 5th of May 2015 (in-case you dont know) .

For those who are foreign trained and have intend to join this batch , you should have registered by now and also our locally trained graduates also. As the on-line Registration has ended. In case you missed this then do patiently wait for the next batch.

Have you received notification on your mobilization status ? If yes you are good to go , if No then you need to contact NYSC quickly as Notifications have been sent out since 13th of April 2015.

Your Print out is being delivered to CPIS since yesterday 15th April 2015 and should have been completed on 17th April 2015.

If you submitted any complaints to NYSC , make sure they were submitted correctly as all compliants will be verified in all NYSC state secretariats/FCT between 17th - 18th April, 2015.

For all those who have Marital and ill- health cases this is also being looked outr and hopefully i pray it comes out positive for you ...

On 27th of April you should get notification for printing of your call-up letters online ...This is actually an improvement unlike my

Hello to you and welcome to another segment on celebrity of the week. Today our celeb of the week is not from the entertainment sector but civil sector.

i will be focusing on a man who has love for his people and those around him. A man who has served relentlessly the public service for 27 Years. He is no other than the Governor- Elect of Lagos State , Ambode Akinwumni



Born as Akinwunmi IbiDapo Ambode on 14 June 1963 at the Epe General Hospital , Epe in Lagos state to Mr and Mrs Ambode. His Father was a teacher while his mother was a tailor. He is the 6th child out of 10.



He attended St Jude,s Primary School in Ebutte Meta in 1969 and gained admission into Federal Government College, Warri in 1974.Akinwunmi Ambode was a brilliant and focused individual that he had the second best result in West Africa in the Higher School certificate examinations in 1981.

Still keeping the flag going , he gained admission into the University of Lagos to study Accounting. By the age of 21, Akinwunmi graduated with honors. He served the country (NYSC) with Central Bank of Nigeria, Sokoto.

Not relenting on his effort, Ambode furthered his study to the Masters Degree in Accounting specializing in Financial Management also on a federal government scholarship at the age of 24.

ASUU Strike Again ?

Just 5 months ago the Academic Staff Union of Universities is planning on commencing another strike action.

Reasons being that the federal government has failed to honour the agreement reached with lecturers during the last strike.


At a press briefing which was recently held, ASUU leader Professor Festus Iyayi lamented on the failure of the government to fulfill its promises.

This lack of seriousness of the government in fufilling their promises will hinder University Education in the country…

Must there always be strike ? When students for a 4-year course spends 6 years if not more in the university….

Getting married to some people marks the end of certain single privileges… Well Love is a beautiful thing no one can deny . This idea of getting married scares the living day light out of some individuals and gives them shivers.lol.

Lifetime Contract

Yes thats really scary!!!. Marriage is a lifetime commitment and contract… Well this scares the crap out of mostly Guys.


Some guys cant imagine living, sleeping and waking up next to the same lady for the rest of his life . I will say it comes with maturity…

Reduced Freedom

This is another reason not to get married. I know of a friend’s sister who has to take permission from her husband to leave the house and even going to visit her mother.

When i heard that i was really furious , like seriously!!! is that what marriage entails.? But i have come to realise that it has to do with maturity and understanding.. I also know of some couples who still have freedom to do whatever they wish. So it all dependson what you define as “FREEDOM”

Responsibilty

You no longer have to deal with just yourself , feeding and more but getting married gives the Man more mouth to feed, infact in the Nigerian context inlaws and family members are included in the budget. This can actually be sorted out tho, if the lady supports her husband financially… So basically its the “”Extra-Mouth-to-Feed-Syndrome…
In-Laws

Lets call it extra set of parents..lmao. Dealing with inlaws can be a very crazy adventure especially when they are not what you expect.

From the ladies point of view, mother-inlaws are like thorn on the flesh especially the ones who like to involve themselves in the issues betweeen the couple, the ones who want to always be around and live with the couple. Dealing with parents is not easy talk less of another set of parents to deal with…..hmmm

Beyoncé who was named the highest earning female entertainer of the year 2014 is being sued for stealing a song.

According to TMZ, up and coming singer Javon Lane is suing Bee for stealing a song from her.

“I believe my copyrighted musical work has been infringed upon,” a 27-year-old artist named Javon contends in a new federal lawsuit.
The song ‘XO’ which is on her fifth studio album. Javon Lane is claiming that he wrote a number named ‘XOXO’ and shared it with another singer who does background vocals for Beyoncé , the track supposedly ended up in her hands and a copycat track emerged.

Radar Online states that Javon is asking for millions in damages from Knowles in the handwritten complaint that he filed in New York without a lawyer.

The judge granted him “pauper” status — which waives his court fees — because he said he makes just $2,800 a month working for Carnival Cruise Lines.

Beyoncé is now being sued for $3 million. Well she definitely has more than enough to spare to clear this lawsuit but would Queen Beyonce let her image get tarnished by Javon lee ? or is this just a way for the up and coming singer to get popular or even hustle ?

World trade center has now reopened and resurrected 13 years after the 9/11 terrorist attack.

This is a huge milestone for United States as a Nation and most especially New Yorkers.

As at now there are no Ebola patients under quarantine and surveillance in Nigeria. So what really happened? Was it the doctors, the Ebola teams? or Even Prayers that helped subdue this deadly outbreak in the country.

The United States are still marvelled as how Nigeria did this or helped manage this outbreak and also Stunned by the entrance of the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, into America, the United States’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention has despatched its personnel to study how Nigeria contained the killer disease.

A statement released by CDC Director Tom Frieden stated that Nigeria’s “extensive response to a single case of Ebola shows that control is possible with rapid, focused interventions.” In addition to visiting Nigeria, CDC officials will also visit Senegal to study its containment model.

“The best practices in Nigeria and Senegal suggest the U.S. should monitor all individuals who may have been exposed to Ebola and establish a dedicated management and response system,” Frieden said.

Also, Nigeria has accepted to train 15 health workers from three West African countries affected by the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), Minister of health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, said in a statement.

“Nigeria will offer specialised training to the health personnel from the three severely affected West African nations of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia,’’ he said.
According to him, the trainees comprised nine field epidemiologists and six laboratory scientists selected from the affected countries.
The minister said the training, scheduled to take place in Nigeria, would last for three weeks.

This is an african head gear normally worn to compliment particular attires and outfits and worn by ladies.It gives a facelift to ladies.





Gele which is prnouced gay-lay is the yoruba word for head gear or head wrap.it can be as little as a simple scarf or longer. Its known to be worn with the traditional attire which is the Iro & Buba. It is a common fashion accessory for women in Nigeria.

It is now a fashion statement as it is worn to compliment some attires for occasions and events. In Fact wearing a traditional attire or native attir without the GELE is seemed as a fashion faux pax.
The Gele today is now common and new trends , designs emerge daily.

Today, you can see the Gele being donned on all types of attire, such as, skirt suits, pant suits, and cocktail dresses. The possibilities are endless as the uses of the Gele is still emerging.
One thing about the GELE is ability to tie it properly which most ladies find it difficult to do so. I’ve seen most ladies take almost 40 minutes in tying their head gear to their taste. Well it can get you frustrated tho. In my next post i will put up some tutorials for those who want to learn how to do so.



The ability to tie the Gele is one of the problem faced by most Nigerian women. Tying the Gele is an art in itself. It takes great patience and precision. I remember as a child always watching my mom tie the Gele for a special occasion and wondering, ‘what in the world…?’.Now I find myself doing the same, getting frustrated over tying my geles.
A popular Nigerian called Segun Gele is an expert in this area. he is recognised globally for his gele designs .


Let’s just say, I pre-tie my Geles weeks, and sometimes months ahead of the special event. So all I do is just put it on like a hat whenever It’s needed.

For a lot of women, the time it takes to tie the Gele is a deterrent to wearing this essential part of the cultural attire as it can take from half an hour to hours just to get it right. This can sometimes be a frustrating process. Thus, most Nigerian women have abandoned wearing the Gele altogether.



One Nigerian man noticed this trend (of not wearing the Gele) among Nigerian women. He is well skilled in the art of tying the Gele. His name is Segun Gele.

In a write up is was said that the head tie is the ultimate fashion accessory to use to protect your hair, complete your traditional African outfit, or in many cases, for religious purposes. If you’re going for a glamour look, go with the gele and you’ll definitely get comments like “Where Did You Get That From?” If you’re looking for something more refined, the head tie is your style pick!



Also important to note is that your head tie can be a symbol of your social status and class. In most African countries, the material of the head scarf, the size of it, and how you rock it with the rest of your outfit can determine whether you are from the upper class, middle class, or the lower class. 1. Most camps don’t have toilets, so ready to improvise.




2.Your kits given to you might not be your size. so its either you swap with someone (with begging of course) or you slimfit the wears but the boots are always bigger than your given size so i advice you get to camp early enough so as to get a small size as most times the small sizes are given to people who come early.





3. I advise you to get to camp early. As the good part or utilities such as rooms, beds, kits will be given to people who get there early.




4.Do and at all cost avoid the bunks or bedspace near the doors especially the toilet as you would be inhaling some dangerous odors for 3 whole weeks . hmmm. Also the bunks or bed spaces close to the entrance door are not so cool as your belongings are prone to their happy thieves. Also when the soldiers and officials come in to chase people out you are their first targets and victim. So be wise..




5. Try and join OBS . You can sometimes escape some boring activities especially those hot afternoon parade practice…. But i would say you avoid joining band because you will be made to practice day and night.. My friend was an example. I also hear that they usually promise that those in the band will be posted to companies and town center but my dear, don’t be deceived.




6. Your luggages will be ransacked by soldiers while searching for forbidden items. So when arranging or packing your boxes know how to arrange them.




7. Queuing up should become a part of you . At camp Queue is the main thing. You queue up to bath, to fetch water, to eat , and other activities.




8. Dont over-slim fit your khaki because when you wash it , it shrinks. Be careful .




9 Lectures might be long and boring but not all .especially if you have friends you can talk to or gist with to let time fly. Funny enough its not everyone that would be able to hear what is being said. So whats the point… So make friends..

10. Just respect the soldiers and officials else camp will be a living hell experience from you .And don’t form over-familiarity with them else you calling for trouble especially the Ladies. I am sure you know what i am talking about.




11.No drugs allowed o! except you want to be sent out of camp.





12. Mosquito nets are quite useful as they can serve as a protective measure for you belongings , also they can hide you from officers incase you want to hide but its not a good id

This was a Breakup Of Life . It was a surprise to everyone how this happened. Well Wizkid grew up quickly than expected and became a Man. Kudos to him . Most people thought and still thinks that he was the one that added the spice to EME record. Wizkid formed his own label – STAR BOY RECORDS. He has been doing well since then . Another Split was that of May D leaving Square Records. August 2013. It was said that May D was not happy at square records and he felt that they were not doing much for his career. A press release said

The Bug hit Chocolate city twice as not too long after Jesse Jags left ,Brymo also left May 2013. He left the record label and released a new album, Mechant Dealers & Slaves in October . It was not a mutual breakup as Chocolate city insisted that he was still with them under his contract till 2016 . It was that bad that it beacame a Legal case .

It was said that when Chocolate City consistently failed to fulfill its obligations under the contract and rather than resolve amicably, the label is devising strategies to ensure that the Artiste remains unproductive.

“I’ve been very loyal to the contract, working hard to be heard, but I’ve been cheated by Chocolate City,” Brymo lamented.

The breakup Bug hit Chocolate city badly this year, starting with Jesse Jagz march 2013. He Left and formed his own Record Label , Jesse Jags Nation .Jesse Jagz, 28, was signed to the label along with his elder brother Jude ‘M.I’ Abaga in 2008.

Although it came as quite a shock to plenty of people close sources to Jesse Jagz and Chocolate City tell us war has been brewing between the ‘Wetin dey’ singer and the hip-hop label.
According to a reliable source, Jagz, ‘was fed up with the way the label was handling his career and decided to frustrate them in return.’

There were allegedly two major accusations the label made against ‘Jargo’; the first that he was financially indebted to them.
‘Choc City said Jargo owed them money, there were several cases where he would travel to the North for a gig and wouldn’t bring back anything to the label. At times, he would claim they paid him just to appear and that didn’t hold under his contractual agreement’.
The second was his sustained substance abuse. There are very strong claims that Jesse Jagz, a truly talented rapper and producer, is a Marijuana addict.

The Bug hit Chocolate city twice as not too long after Jesse Jags left ,Brymo also left May 2013. He left the record label and released a new album, Mechant Dealers & Slaves in October . It was not a mutual breakup as Chocolate city insisted that he was still with them under his contract till 2016 . It was that bad that it beacame a Legal case .

It was said that when Chocolate City consistently failed to fulfill its obligations under the contract and rather than resolve amicably, the label is devising strategies to ensure that the Artiste remains unproductive.

“I’ve been very loyal to the contract, working hard to be heard, but I’ve been cheated by Chocolate City,” Brymo lamented.

CHOCOLATE CITY /JESSE JAGZ



The breakup Bug hit Chocolate city badly this year, starting with Jesse Jagz march 2013. He Left and formed his own Record Label , Jesse Jags Nation .Jesse Jagz, 28, was signed to the label along with his elder brother Jude ‘M.I’ Abaga in 2008.

Although it came as quite a shock to plenty of people close sources to Jesse Jagz and Chocolate City tell us war has been brewing between the ‘Wetin dey’ singer and the hip-hop label.
According to a reliable source, Jagz, ‘was fed up with the way the label was handling his career and decided to frustrate them in return.’

There were allegedly two major accusations the label made against ‘Jargo’; the first that he was financially indebted to them.
‘Choc City said Jargo owed them money, there were several cases where he would travel to the North for a gig and wouldn’t bring back anything to the label. At times, he would claim they paid him just to appear and that didn’t hold under his contractual agreement’.
The second was his sustained substance abuse. There are very strong claims that Jesse Jagz, a truly talented rapper and producer, is a Marijuana addict.
