This is too bad, see what Assad's tyranny, brutality and high-handedness has caused.

I now understand why he ran away, They would have killed him and celebrate his death
He would have faced public execution...... 😁😂

Prove it. I can't just wake up one morning and start making up allegations against you. Not just ordinary allegations but the ones I intend to make fortunes from. Nigeria is not a Banana Republic

You are preempting the outcome, that's what guilty party does. All he has to do is to present his facts, he's a lawyer and I'm sure he has won many cases in the same corrupt courts. And if he didn't describe himself as a corrupt lawyer in his book, that means he won cases based on merit without bribing any judge. I guess you are smart enough to understand what that means
Even those living under a rock, are fully aware our judiciary is a cesspit of corruption.......

It's time to start uprooting them out, regardless of status or age......

I hope enough evidence is available to nail afe..... And others like him......

I knew it would be this serious. First generation of SANs, 90 something years old man who has spent decades building his name, image, franchise and one little fuul just came out from nowhere to stain all that without any iota of proof. My only surprise is the Nairaland ignorants saying that it is because he's guilty, that's the reason he's taking action against the silly boy
Does that mean because he spent his life working in the judiciary, does that mean he could not have been part of the people, tarnishing it's image......

Unfortunately, it's the same corrupt judiciary, that is been relied upon for fair trial and justice.......

Too late, I just bought my kindle copy......

Why is afe trying so hard, to hide the true state of the Nigerian judiciary......

When he also played a part in its rot......

A friend applied for COS update 4 months ago, after a a week he was asked to send salary evidence, he sent his payslip and contract and letting them know the company made a salary error of £23.8 instead of £23.816.
3weeks later his employer was contacted and employer adjusted the COS certificate. After another 3 weeks they sent a letter to employer again asking that is it £11.90 @ 37.5 hours, his employer responded and said if £11.45 @ 40hrs which makes a total of £23,816 annually.
It been 3 months since the employer replied nothing heard about the application. Has anyone experienced this long delay of 4months on skilled job in health and care?
should my friend be worried about the outcome?
NB: he has resumed his role.
This friend would have to await the outcome...... Nobody here could give you the answer(s) you seek......

The delay could be due to a host of reasons....

- Excessive workload....
- Verification process....
- Employer's status check....

Etc etc etc.....

Testimony Time.
Glory be to God almighty for his mercies.
Permit me to appreciate everyone on this platform without mentioning name as I dont want to skip any name. All the important information you all share on this platform was very insightful and useful. We started this journey in October 2023 looking for a 2 bedroom terrace house and ended up buying a 3 bedroom semi-detached home if you know what I mean. I don't want to bore you with all the disappointment I experienced during the process but God compensated us with a good home that needs no repair nor painting, in fact, I can move in without sweeping.

Fast forward, I inspected this house late September 2024 after I just received a set back from a vendor/estate agent. I submitted offer of 5k above the asking price base on my past experience, offer accepted immediately.
Eventually, my lender under value it less than 10k of the asking price which I expected. I got back to the estate agent with the lender's report and they accepted the lender's value after forth and back.

I already have an online solicitor that I wanted to use but I change my mind after reading reviews on how a solicitor can make and Mar the completion success. I came here to seek for advice and I read madam Ticha said its better to get a solicitor within your area and I tap into it and it was a sweet experience and cheaper than the online one.

I contacted the solicitor on October 10, 2024 and we completed December 3, 2024.

Thank you all once again.

The slogan "Rent money is a Dead money" is a motivation for me and not pressure.
Congratulations..... 🎊💐

I hope those that viewed the slogan as pressure, would see that we have nothing to gain, pressuring anybody....... 😁😂

RENT MONEY REMAINS DEAD MONEY..... 😀

Hello house!

Could someone please suggest affordable and decent apartment options around or within the “Birmingham/Coventry” area? (Shared or Private)

I’m resuming at Ulster Birmingham campus next and I’d appreciate if folks on here could help with suggestions as requested above!

Tnx!
Accommodation in Birmingham is an uphill struggle, with Asian landlords charging over the odds for half decent properties....... I was at ulster campus last week for a graduation ceremony, it felt like unilag (considering the roll call).... 😂

Would see if I can get you any decent leads......

For a new build purchase, what's your take on using the developer's recommended mortgage advisor and solicitor?

I'm concerned there might be conflict of interest as they'll be representing both parties. However, the companies are highly rated - 4.7 star ⭐ review and same quite familiar with the developer. I reckon it'll speed things up. But I'll like to hear first hand experience in this. Thanks
Developers prefer having all, under one umbrella (for various reasons).....

It's an open market, so long as they are rendering their services free of charge, you are free to get your own team....... Get a conveyancing solicitor, based on recommendations + mortgage advisers......

My people, please just a few questions:

- How do I go abt adding my husband's surname to my name in this UK.
- Is there any child benefit for an migrant with no recourse to public funds (on a visa)?
Two questions for you......

Why do want to add his name...... It makes no difference to your status in the UK, just adds more complications......

No recourse to benefit for your baby too, unfortunately.........

Hello,

My broadband contract (with Virgin media) is ending in few days.
Can someone recommend a broadband with good deals. I don't understand what Virgin media is saying regarding renewal of contract because how can I move from £22 to £57.
If you inform VM, you're not renewing your contract..... They might offer you a much better deal........

Try EE, they seem to have good deals......

Poor chap. He can appeal to the Court of Appeal if it agrees to hear his case. I think he has to ask this tribunal for permission first.

The judgment is interesting. The court basically told the guy that in some cases for people who have a qualifying British partner, there is no point deporting them because they will be entitled to re-admission when they apply for that from their home countries, but that in his case the HO has refused to agree that he would automatically get a visa if he went home to Nigeria and applied for entry as a partner of a British citizen even though his wife is a qualifying British citizen. It also told him that he should go and find paperwork to prove he has been here since 2005 so that maybe he can start to prepare for applying under the 20-year residence rule next year if he wants. He would need to be here first to make up the 20 years, so hopefully he can appeal and get a stay of enforcement until his appeal is decided.
He knows what he should do, but he doesn't want to play right......

I expected Olawanle to have advised him on the best way forward....... But no, lawyer must chop...... 🤣😂
