Mujtahida: I really wish this team B that has so much captured the imagination of fans can go to the WC.
there ia no way that team could have played a team work , with the state of that pitch , talk true , did you enjoy the match ....?? the pitch was so bad and i cant blame any of the player for a poor outing
the team B will not do much , they lack some things which we dont understand , until they get to competition proper
so far , i have seen Ebuehi, i have seen Simi, i dont know what is wrong with the guys in the middle , they deny us of seeing what d front men is capable of doing ....
And please hear what the commentator said about the Maldini offence
Italy doesn't deserve a red card in that Match , i think the ref was too emotional , and he look for a way to pay them back ,when we had failed to take our chances
BascoVanVeli: Unai Emery sees massive potential in Arsenal youngsters Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Alex Iwobi
Pre-season cannot come soon enough for Unai Emery following his appointment as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
The 46-year-old impressed in his opening press conference as Arsenal manager and, with formalities now out of the way, work must begin on bolstering the squad he has inherited at the Emirates.
While Emery praised the ‘talent’ of his new players, there’s no doubt that the Gunners will be busy this summer, with the defence and midfield in dire need of reinforcements.
Chief executive Ivan Gazidis gave a glowing account of Emery’s performance during the interview process and has now highlighted the Spaniard’s forensic attention to detail.
It was Emery’s impeccable knowledge of every aspect of Arsenal Football Club and, in particular, his detailed analysis of youngsters such as Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Alex Iwobi which caught Gazidis’ attention.
‘What was really impressive was when you scratched the surface to go deeper and deeper and deeper,’ he told Arsenal’s official website.
‘If we were speaking about one of our young players, if we targeted Ainsley Maitland-Niles for example, Unai knows Ainsley.
‘He’s watched him, he’s familiar with his patterns of play, his capabilities, he’s very excited about his potential and was able to talk about how excited he was to work with Ainsley, to develop him as a player.
‘Very specifically, when you asked the follow-up question and the follow-up question and the follow-up question, you’d get more and more depth about how exactly he would do that, exactly how him and his team would work with an individual player to develop them into the best player they can possibly be and also within the team dynamic.
‘There are a lot of platitudes in the game of football, a lot, and people can speak at a surface level very easily to sound confident and impressive.
‘What’s impressive to me is when you scratch through that and you get deeply involved in what exactly they mean.’
According to The Times, Emery’s camp are also looking closely at Iwobi ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
It’s claimed that coaches in Spain were taken aback by the Nigerian’s performance against Barcelona in 2016 and saw enormous potential.
At the time, Iwobi was yet to even make his full Premier League debut but produced an assured performance in Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat at the Nou Camp.
While Iwobi is yet to fulfill that early potential, Emery is confident that he can get the best out of the 22-year-old.
Emery highlighted Arsenal’s rich history of producing youngsters following his unveiling.
‘I’ve never seen anything handed out for free in football,’ he said.
‘And in terms of Arsenal and their history, the young players have always earned those opportunities.’
this man went into details to analyse each and every player in the team as well as the team problems ... his presentation marvelled the membership board, he has been a core Arsenal fan right from time .i hope he will be able to do more than Wenger
Is like wrestling with someone , and accidentally his hand enters your mouth .... just dont do other thing ... begin chew the finger wey enter your mouth , with little effort you will win the fight
all these nonsense stories that flies up and down , they were not part of ROhr 's plan and even if they suddenly became peoples admiration ....cos of one night , we get distracted alot in this part of the world .
MetalJigsaw: Caniggia: Argentina Very Strong In Attack, Weak In Defence May 26, 2018 9:42 am
Argentina great, Claudio Caniggia, has stated that the Albiceleste’s weak point going into the 2018 FIFA World Cup is in their defence line.
The two-time world champions are in Group D with Nigeria, Croatia and debutant Iceland.
Caniggia, 51, who was a member of the Argentine side that got to the final of the 1990 World Cup in Italy, said Jorge Sampaoli parades a fearsome strike force but has a poor rear guard.
“What’s in our favour is that the best attacking players can put fear into anyone,” Caniggia who scored Argentina’s two goals in their 2-1 comeback win against Nigeria in USA 1994, told FIFA.com.
“Their names (Argentina strikers)alone unsettle the opposition. The other teams don’t think: “Higuain is being criticised in Argentina”. They think: “he’s Juventus’ top goalscorer”. Our weak point is that we’re still not solid at the back, and there are still a couple of places up for grabs.”
The former Boca Junior and River Plate forward stated that Lionel Messi lacks the kind of support Diego Maradona got from his teammates during his time as captain of Argentina.
“Messi doesn’t get the same support from his teammates as Maradona did. I think that’s true.”
OMANBALA1: Guys, please answer this question. What exactly does Simon Moses bring to the table because I am lost here. And if I can remember vividly the only reason Simon got into that team was because of Ahmed Musa's dip in form.
Simon Moses can play the wing comfortably well with accurate crosses better than Ahmed Musa ,
He ;s also deadly when it comes to counter attack cos of his speed and ability to dribble (dont forget his show me your number dribbling )
he can take set pieces accurately well, in fact , he has scored on different occasions .
he is very dangerous in the 18yard box .
so tell me why we dont need him ?baring injury he will be at the world cup
“You cannot say that we should take some players after the holiday match against Atletico. They came with a second team and the plan was to see them for the future. I have no regrets with my selection.
“My real regret is that people talk about players not on the list than those on the list. This is not fair as we have many interesting players on that team as well”,
very matured response , some should respect his decision
ykalhaji: Victor Moses is is the most impactful player in the super eagles, so far, but to be honest can we truly say that he is indispensable? Yes he takes us out of dicey situations, but remembering how we played against Argentina, I can not but think Victor's way of playing is holding us back from playing free flowing ball. He holds the ball to long, he dribbles into people 7 out of 10 times, wants to talk all corner kicks, freekicks and penalty, there by causing the rest of the team to react instead of acting, everyone that plays a sport that involves a ball knows that everyone plays well when passing is emphasised the team has continued to build chemistry without Moses, I remember the last time we complained that Moses does not seem to fit in, maybe this is why.
just have this at the back of your mind , that team can play well without Moses .. we will enjoy free flow footie. if Icon79 like make him hit him head for wall .... we need Obi more than Obi need us ... i am yet to see another indispensable player
