The Nigerian President Badluck Jonathan has given up on his troops and now calls for US troops to fight Boko haram. No matter how hard a man can play, Boko Haram will force you to scream out for help from neighbours even to houses which are miles away from yours.

that's because tthe north believes they still enjoy the political hegemony.
the political landscape is changng rapidly. few years ago a confab won't be possible in nigeria .

So watz ur problem if its land locked. Will it be d only land lock country in d world. For ur info, there are land locked countries in Africa that are doing well; Bostwana and Rwanda comes to mind. And why are u speaking for d so called minorities as u termed it. U are fighting GEJ cos he is frm d minority .Do u think dey are wit d nigeria arrangement? If Nigeria is not restructured into a true federating units, regions will agitate for self rule period. I'm jst wondering y is a problem to u. Is d whole world a country?
secession won't solve biafran problem or nigeria's problems. I am an advocate of true federalism. That'S what nigeria needs.

if biafra goes the minorities might not want to remain with nigeria but i am certain they won't join biafra.

it should be a round table talk

I take it as an honour likening Evarn to Me. But I really don't care for your opinion or beliefs.

Point to note is that today Nigeria is no 1 in Africa and tomorrow still holds true of that position.

Sweden and other Scandinavian countries have a higher standard of living than the mighty US but you and I know you do not compare them.

So let south Africa use Sweden as her model and we shall use US and China as ours . In a few years time we shall compare who is more powerful and prosperous.

Just one picture bra.

And then just one quote:

The current capacity is 4,500 megawatts.
“The cost of providing electricity per megawatt on average is $2billion. To get to where South Africa is, you will need about $3.2trillion (about N672trillion). Where will you find that kind of money?” he asked.

And your GDP is already pegged at higher that South Africa's, but you don't have enough money to get where we are.
electricity in Nigeria has now been privatised like telecommunications.

But do we need electricity to beat south afrika? Nope. We don't.

Your views are merely advanced by the right groups who are merely scared of the leftist growing power which seems to thrive despite all the challenges. Their only hope is now only on MINT to challenge BRICS and neutralise them from deleting G8 out of the league of being seen as important. Their fear is China.

How is responding to a post "derailment"?

And please point out the word "overpopulation" in my post.

And then when you are done, enjoy the following:

- "And how could there ever be enough to eat if everyone had twenty young" _Hyoi, Out of the Silent Planet.

That, my friend, is the story of Nigeria and its GDP.

Tell me if you want a picture of your population growth curve posted.

And I ask again - do you think Sweden sits crying about the list?
"massive population" ? That's looks like population problem to me and none of the aforementioned countries have population problem.

Why do you keep talking about population curve? Are you shying to use the word over populated?

By all projections, the future is bright and the Nigerian band is banging .....lol.

Talking about Sweden, I think she would have been a power broker in Europe and the world if she had the right population. Now she'll be only relevant under the "collective" power of the EU which is steered by Germany who "coincidentally" has roughly the same standard with Sweden but enjoys higher population; 80 million roughly with Mexico you touted.

Let's face it, the West never thought globalization would resort to 3rd world countries with huge markets (population)becoming economic and industrial empires.

It has become the fate of
China
India
Brazil
Indonesia
Nigeria
Turkey
Mexico
Russia.

That's why today's billionaires and millionaires are emerging from these countries.
And apart from the economical gains, there's is global political power play.

LOL what do the "projections" say about INFRASTRUCTURE and standards of living in Nigeria?

Do you think Sweden sits crying about the list? All countries ever needs are enough money for their lot. That's the only objective of economic activity. And have enough Nigeria does not and will not. Do you wish to see your population growth projections? Probably not.

Mexico, Pakistan, Nigeria - all countries in the same boat. Massive populations and low standards. Mass exodus to other countries as well. Top contributors of immigrants. wink
lol, derailment upon derailment, little countries like Sweden don't count.
What's her population again? Should be under 10 million i guess.

Matter of fact if not for EU, Russia would have annexed little countries like Sweden, Finland and co.

Anyways, Mexico is about 80 million, Indonesia 2hundred and something?, Nigeria 180, where on earth is that over population?

Your country by all projections is irrelivantly redundant economically and she will fade into oblivion in the near future. High time your presido came to the synagogue.

2014 passed and nothing has changed other than the shrinking number of Nigerian millionaires. They have failed.

Just because a certain person from London said so, then it makes you to jump into conclusion. I still emphasise my statement that there is no such thing as MINT other than is an acronym which refers to Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey. My friend, despite one erratic findings by one institution that you mentioned, BRICS is an association which will rule the world in future. It had just established its own bank which will compete with the world bank. The bank which will bail out many developing countries from the debt incurred from the WB. China will soon become the world economic super power, in fact it has already surpassed America.
China surpassed America?? I thought you guys said GDP doesn't matter. Lol. Chameleons.

China surpassed America just the way Nigeria surpassed south Africa!!!!

The source I quoted is an authority, an institution. Your opinion doesn't count. And all it's predictions have been fulfilled, Nigeria has more billionaires than southafrica, Nigeria has bleeped south Africa as the number one economic power house in Africa.

Have you noticed that when BRICs countries are listed , some times, southafrica is omitted . Thats because they just managed to make the list in 2010.

I have proven my point. You folks do not accept any fact. The institution thar coined BRIC also coined MINT. SO which is redundant today, it is BRIC, CHINA Alone can't help you.

Southafricas economy is bairly growing, so is Brazil and Russia. MINT on the other hand is firing from all angles;Nigeria grows at 5.1%, Indonesia, Mexico and Turkey are surging economically. Phew!!!

We shouldnt be having this debate, I told you malemos that Nigeria has the highest numbers of billionaires and millionaires in Africa. Well I was being conservative, Nigeria is one of the fastest countries making millionaires in THE WHOLE WORLD.

Your denial doesn't change facts neither does it alter the status quo. They are just empty bickering from an empty soul.

The 2014 Millionaire Race: Goodbye BRICs, Hello MINTs
Comment Now

In 2014, the MINT countries (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey), will surpass the BRICSs (Brazil, Russia, India, China) in the world race for millionaires, according to a new study by SPEAR’s magazine and WealthInsight, a London-based research service.

The MINT countries as a whole will perform better than both the BRICs and the G8 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, UK and the U.S.), according to the study. In the list of countries set to create the most millionaires this year, the MINTs are posed to rank within the top eight, WealthInsight said. Led by Indonesia, which is expected to see a 22% increase in the number of millionaires this year, the list is followed by Nigeria with a 10% increase, Turkey with a 8.5% increase and Mexico with a 7% increase. Both acronyms –BRICs and MINTs– were coined by British economist Jim O’Neill, an ex-Goldman Sachs employee.

Nobody ever said SA is a developed country even though some other sources regard it as developed. SA is an NIC, meaning it has both features of developed and developing countries, thus it will be inaccurate to class SA as a third world and likewise it will be inaccurate to rate it as developed. However, the right terminology to use is "newly industrialised country" the status which many experts suggest that SA is just behind the door to be fully recognised as developed country. By the time the $400 billion invested to develop SA tinfrastructure is depleted, SA would have fully reached that status with modernised infrastructure.

Every country has social ills, developed or undeveloped apart from the fact that in developed countries they are far better.

No country in Africa can ever match SA with the kind of infrastructure that they have. Large majority of SA have access to clean running water on their properties. We don't use boreholes like in the case of Nigeria, only in remote areas, somewhere in the villages where I don't know. Large majority of our people walk on tarred roads and use sewage in their townships across the country. The government built us free houses, something you can never have in Nigeria. We have excellent health care facilities, advanced industry and economy. So that qualifies us as NIC.
all my sources says the opposite. my sources are all domiciled in southafrica. the word NIC is still a slogan that hasnt gained general acceptance. Brazil, India, Southafrica are not 1st world end of story

Man your brain is crushed. SA is officially an NIC and was even promoted to that position long before Russia. D.U.M.M.Y!! We are not in the same league of development with Nigeria and we are officially no longer third world nation. We are having three years experience as an NIC, position which Nigeria will only attain after hundred years when we will be fully developed nation.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newly_industrialized_country
south Africa is a third world country. as a matter of fact she is a living example of a third world country. all the indices pointing to under development is typical of southafrica eg, corruption, crime, sickness, poor data reliability, poor infrastructure. etc

now please do not assume I am unaware of some groups who used the word " industrialized" very loosely and in an inclusive term.

this group are just a lonely, irrelevant school of thought who aren't comfortable with the status quo. And they often seek the promotion and inclusion of pro gay countries through PR and unwarranted inclusions. There's no industry in southafrica that can't be found on some developing countries, neither is your standard of living or government efficiency out of the murky waters of a third world countries.

let us pardon China and Russia a little. any group that calls Brazil, India and southafrica developed, first world countries, is making a wishful proposition.
That group is merely seeking to create anew school of thought and a proposition of what wishful dreams and thinking should be.

below is an excerpt from the lips of a southafrican. althouth, it is still filled with self-praise and wishful thinking but enjoy the read : "Also the 40% unemployment, the 20% AIDS infection rate, the 62.18 deaths/1,000 live births infant mortality rate, the $10,700 (2003 est.) purchasing power parity (GDP per capita), although that isn't as bad as I thought it would be, say, compared to Afghanistan's $700 (2003 est.). (Statistics courtesy of the CIA World Factbook.)

South Africa is by far the most developed country in Africa, but it's still a third world country. It will be while we have people living without access to clean water, medical care or education. There's nothing shameful about being a third world country. We should celebrate our successes even more so given that we are a third world country."

Believe me the above comment from your fellow compatriot is sweet music compared to independent sources and findings of 2013/2014.

all the sources, I shall quote and reference will be in 2014. this will put you in your true light.

if southafrica is a developed country in the true meaning of the world, then almost half the globe are industrialized, advanced first world countries.

but seeing the world for the first time in 1994, you wouldn't really know what's what.

you better ask somebody!!!
