QueenWest: Pardon all my typos. Epistle is too long
quote author=QueenWest post=39044449]Got into Houston yesterday via British Airways (I choose them cos I intend to stop over in London on my return trip).
I got to the airport in Nigeria early and didn't have any issues checking it. Was only requested for my fitness to fly which and I gave them a copy.
Requested for wheelchair chair service, but didn't use it in Nigeria. Started using in from London.
When I arrived Houston, there were some old people who couldn't really walk on the flight but didn't request for wheelchair chair. As the wheelchairs brought to the door of the aircraft were less one of the attendants operating the wheelchairs said you could just keep walking until another one comes., I said no as I couldn't walk and she asked 'you're having the baby now'? I replied her and said what kind of silly question is that.
Anyway I eventually got into the wheelchair and was taken straight to the front of the long que.
Cpb- what's the purpose of your trip Me- vacation and medical attention Cpb - are you sick? Me- no, I'm pregnant. I was sent for secondary inspection afterwards and after about 30mins, one of the officers called me and asked if I had a contacted a Dr. I said yes and handed over my email correspondence.
After studying it for about 5mins she hands it back to me, stamps me in for 6 months and tells me to keep all my receipts.
I proceeded to get my luggage(I had already discharged the wheelchair attendant at this time as it was becoming awkward remaining on it)
As I declared some food items, I was sent to Agriculture. all my indomie spices were seized as I had removed them from the pack. One of the lady officers insisted it was chicken indomie that's why I removed them from the packs. I asked her what I was going to do with indomie without spices and she said I shouldn't have taken them from the packs. I insisted that, thats how I always traveled with my indomie but doe where.....
My rice was also seized.
Every other thing like my palm oil, dry fish, dried Bush meat, all shades of Maggi, crayfish, starch, cabin biscuit, milo, milk, ogbono, egusi, spices, canned banga etc went tru.
I have settled in with soulcare (good choice). Got to town via super shuttle. Paid 56 dollars. Was taken for groceries as soon as I got in.
That's my POE story.
Any idea on how I can't eat my indomie? Congrats on your poe!!! DId they ask to see and count your cash? |

Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Lialian: 3:01pm On Jun 23, 2015 |
thanks Oyin, wish you God's favor on all your plans. looking forward to hearing from you. 0yin: Hello,
I've not traveled yet but I plan to use ESTA, visa waiver issh. I guess you are also entitled to it f you have a German passport. But ensure you have to go through the same scrutiny as others ie, hospital and Drs correspondence, some of of cash payment and all. Plus your maximum period of stay on this visa waiver is 90 days not the regular 6 months, so you can plan your trip accordingly.
I'll sure my POE when I get there. |

hello Oyin, just checking , Did you travel to US for your childbirth and how did it go? i am on a german passport but currently live in uk. am also planing to travel to have my baby in US. can you please share you experience at the poe and all that. well appreciated 0yin: Hello people,
kindly help!!!
- Does one with birtitsh passport require a visa for birthing in the US
- This passport is non transferable to children (before some people start asking why not consider the UK for birthing)
- If one requires a visa what is the process like?
- if the visa is not required what is the process like.
Remember that those with the UK passport have a waiver to the US for 90 days maximum without a visa.
Would appreciate your responses. Thank you |
