lobell:Hope you realize that if there's any one stupid enough to go into a wager with you on this point, you will loose that thing you speak of, not that it's worth anything. |
MrBigiman:That was their best album... P Square at their best, back when Paul was in Gwags and Peter came in from University of Jos. I guess a lot of the Kids here have never heard of it. |
Obiagelli:Don't comment much but I have to on this one as I would say I can speak confidently about my senatorial district. @Obiageli, that is not the reason... In my Senatorial District, the APGA candidate was not popular, his campaign was weak and he didn't contribute to the District while in various political offices he held previously. Stella Oduah on the other hand contributed a lot to her LGA before she became minister and while serving as a minister she was biased to people from the SE, her campaign is the most intense and impressive I have seen from anybody vying for a senatorial post. A lot of Stella's votes where sentimental votes from people who benefited from her directly or indirectly and the feeling that she was persecuted while the Aviation Minister Culminating in her removal. Again, APGA lost most of their structure when Peter Obi left the party mightly weakening APGA, Obiano does not have the clout at least for now to sway the voters and there is really not much leadership in the party. I saw the end of the party when Peter Obi left and this has further concvinced me. The best thing for the party is to merge with another or other parties while they still have some semblance of relevance. the party will go extinct in the present political climate. |
Sup, looking for a clean 2012/2013 Sportage, 9ja used. |
Hey, will 2.4 Fly this ride? |
@Adaobi, Some are of the opinion that your cousins don't have your best interest at heart, I think otherwise. That said, their suggestion may or may not be in your best interest. Your cousins may have suggested you study in Nigeria 'cause they want you to come home, not 'cause the quality of education is anything close to what you'll get if you were to study in a UK university. In my opinion, they may feel that you have a better chance of being successful if you were to settle here as against the UK where competition is so stiff. It may also be that they don't want to loose you "forever" if for instance you were to settle with someone in the UK. If you enjoyed Nigeria as much as you say you did and settling in Nigeria is an option for you, you can still school in the UK (If you field of choice is not in the sciences, then it may not be all that bad), follow your dream, but endeavor to visit Nigeria often, that way, you'll be in tune and can transition easily. Whatever you choose to do, always have in mind that if you play your cards right, the odds are in your favour to attain greater heights in Nigeria than any other country. All the best. |
@Chisom, I'm sure you won't want to be seen with someone wearing a N1500 denim from MM except the dude or girl is your driver. |
Selfishness. |
Thank you for your kind words Lethridge, but I think it is you who deserve all the commendation. At the time I took interest in the car I had a lot of reservations however, my reservations were laid to rest right from my first conversation with Lethridge. Trying to be as careful and as astute as I could, I did a background check on the car, but in truth I did not need to. I was given all the information about the car even when I did not solicit for them. His Idea of business is that it should be a win-win situation, both parties closing the deal mutually satisfied. He is a gentleman if ever I have seen one, very honest, straight-forward, considerate, meticulous, down to earth and principled. He is the ideal business man. Yes, yes and yes, Nigeria is a very difficult place to do business, however, transacting with people like Lethridge makes it work the effort. I too look forward to doing more transactions with Lethridge. keep up the good work. |
Could you mail me your location, VIN, last price and specs for this car. patrickvalentine34@yahoo.com |
Didn't get the e-mail, please re-send. |
Send me the VIN and "last price" for the 2007 Accord on patrickvalentine34@yahoo.com |
@ Onye ngbu, as you may know there is an exception to every rule. If I can remember the provisions of the Act correctly then one can travel with written permission from NYSC, one will only be punished if he fails to secure that permission. |
@AloyEmeka, Green this, Green that, Green energy is the most expensive and unstable energy source at the moment. I often hear Nigerians talk about America's uninterrupted power supply, news flash, 40-60% of it is from coal energy. I've always been of the view that Enugu State can supply the entire Old Eastern Nigeria with uninterrupted power supply, so abeg make we hear word with your inconvenient truth story. |
@Poster, first of all I think it has to do with the city she resides. From your post, I'm almost sure it is somewhere in the south East, most likely Aba or Onitsha; I'm dead sure about this one. Many unenlightened (those money miss road traders) Igbo men would prefer a woman that will be entirely dependent on them, worship them and do whatever they say, you get my flow. That's why they withdraw when they see a woman that can hold her own. 120k may not be a lot but add that to her presumably comfortable family background then she may be living like she earns 500k. Another thing may be her age. Those traders prefer to marry at 35 and to a girl who is not above 22. Thirdly, it may be that they feel they (suitors) won't have the financial muscle to take care of her, that what they can offer her won't really impress her and that may mean they not being in total control of her life. Tell your friend to look in the professional circle, outside her city, let the ever present match making family members know of her desperation, and I think she will be fine. By the way, how does one quote on this forum? |
@Illuminati proponents, If I can remember correctly, the necklace is a vokal necklace (as in Nelly's Vokal). The deal may be a Joint venture like the one 50 and shady have with Dre, where different record companies own bits of the artists work. I'm sure some people have seen something like Gunit/ShadyAftermath/Interscope. All of the aforementioned are record companies but own percentages of say Lloyd Bank's work. |
@Ogugua88, Your name (albeit profile name) is common with Onitsha people. Aniocha (Neni, brother to the Adazi's, Agulu's and Ichida etch), interesting, you LG decided the Ngige/Akunyili tussle. While I am aware that your post says the opinion is from a friend, I have a feeling that you are caught at a crossroad (correct me if I'm wrong though). |
I did a check, the news is not untrue. The problem is that (IMO) he has to play back up to Mickael Landreau. |
The expression "single" originated in the era when a "relationship" between a man and woman was a secret affair. Except a man is courting a woman for marriage, then he cannot as much as kiss her openly. Like so many words in English language the expression "single" has evolved to mean when a person is not in a "relationship" IMO once anyone has a bf/gf then s/he isn't single. By the way poster (Ogugua88) Are you of Onitsha descent? |
The Iphone and day, anytime, any planet, solar system, galaxy etc!!!! |
@ Acutex, lol at rumpelstilskin. |
The girl must be unintelligent or paranoid if that was her means of determining whether her erstwhile man was faithful or not. What if he likes to keep his private affairs private and not tell it to the entire online world, what if he too was testing her. There are a lot of what ifs here. However she may have gotten rid of a cheating boyfriend or her ideal husband. |
VIN, V6 or V4? |
The details and pictures you posted of the car are not enough for one to pass an informed judgement. Please post more pictures of the car and give more details, and add the VIN as well, maybe then we will decide whether to make offers or not. |
I think I should start by correcting the terms we use, There is nothing like "Tradition Marriage and Court Marriage" The correct thing is Statutory Marriage (or Marriage under the Act) and Customary Marriage. The Poster is concerned about which Marriage to celebrate first, statutory marriage or customary marriage. It is important to note that Nigerian law recognizes both forms of marriages, thus, if one has celebrated customary marriage, you are already recognized as a couple. The possible problem with this is that it is the custom and tradition of the husband that will apply. (E.G. Where the man dies without making a Will, it also gives the man the freedom to take as many wives as he chooses.). @Sholleex, customary marriage is recognized by law and it is also enforceable @Kufreabasi, you are concerned about a delay from the family of your partner. I appreciate the fact that weddings(marriage in accordance with church rites) and customary marriage can be pretty expensive. The solution to your problem is statutory marriage which can take as short as 1 month to sort out. (N/B You must follow the prescribed procedure) It is necessary that I correct an impression. Church marriage is nothing more than European customary marriage if the necessary steps are not taken to incorporate statutory requirements into it. Thus, there must be notice in the church(three consecutive Sundays), it must be by a licensed minister in a his licensed place of worship, and a Marriage Certificate must be issued and signed by the officiating minister, the couple and their witnesses. This is the common form of marriage. It is not the fact that it is held in the church that makes is statutory marriage but that the statutory requirements are followed. Statutory marriage protects the woman against polygamy, intestacy among other things. in the Nigerian context, the significance of customary marriage, though a valid form of marriage is respect for our culture and consent from the woman's family, and church is respect for our religion. The most important thing marriage however is statutory marriage. N/B if your partner is above 18 but under 21yrs, parental consent must be sought before statutory marriage can take place. |
lol, have a car too, but the when you are in a building you won't hang your car key on your neck would you? Everyone uses a blackberry now, guys and girls are impressed when they see something and someone different. Nigerians as you may well know are impressed by little things. I use it for my work mainly though and I am not the show off type if you want to know. (as you said, a phone is not even something to show off with. |
@leulliot, I guess you did your jailbreak with Blackra1n. And you could unlock your phone because at the time iTunes was not verifying the firmware with apple during restoration. @labiyemmy, MC models with baseband(Modem firmware) 05.12.01 are impossible to unlock at the moment. However, you can Downgrade and jailbreak. However, what I advice you to do is to return the phone and get your money back. If you are in London go to Tottenham Court Road or any where else and get an unlocked, jailbroken (firmware 3.1.2) version and never upgrade it when apple tells you to do so when you log on to itunes. I am guessing you want to bring it back ti Naija, you can buga pple with it, it is also a lady magnet. (it has worked for me ) |
