dacutebaby: Thanks for the roll call. I am doing fine. Just this heaviness ehn.
Please Mamas in the house, my doctor is saying because of my height (about 5'1or 2) thati would most likely have to go for CS. For now he says we should do a scan at 36weeks to determine baby's weight but I should put mind for CS. Pls I need mamas opinions o, does height determine Cs or not.
Thanks sometimes they use height to estimate pelvic size. They would give you a shot at vaginal delivery but if baby is big they may not agree. I had same experience but i had vaginal delivery. Whatever means however, the priority is that you both are fine. |

FloraEC: Good evening mama's.
Abeg no waka pass cos we(hubby and I) don't want to do another vigilante this night. I no dy ask too much question
What can I use for my DD temperature, she's 23months? We've been on admission since Thursday and was discharged yesterday afternoon, the lab result showed malaria and infection. Yesterday night she started running temp that we wrapped her up with towel after pouring water on her and was taking turn to change the towel. Her temperature went from 38.8-37 yesterday night and I noticed she's cutting out her 2nd molar. We went to see a pediatrician this morning, he gave her injection for the fever, took her blood sample for another test and gave us Para, told us to stop ibuprofen. Told us he's suspecting sepsis, hubby is blaming me, her school and anything blameable.
Please is the new tooth the cause of the fever or my pregnancy(I'm 30+weeeks gone)? How can I stop the fever kpatakpata cos I'm tired Try calpol (its also a brand of paracetamol but very effective) |

rvpbae: Mamas pls i need help. Has anyone ever travelled by air with their LO? Local flight that is, as travelling by road is out of the option.
Pls how did you guys do it? My baby will be 8weeks by then. What kind of clothing should he wear, did you pay for an extra seat, will i carry him in my arms all thru? What are the protocols?
Pls come to my aid o. Ese my lo was way older when i travelled with her. Just wear normal cloth based on weather and hold cardigan/socks. You wont pay extra seat cos she is less than 2 years. You will carry him all through cos he will be strapped to your seat belt. No protocols. Just indicate you have an infant while booking. |

Giddyperson: Biko nu, my baby has been sick and isn't taking her medicine at all, she spits it all out and fights me and throws up, I've tried all kinds of tricks but nothing works, and she keeps running temperature, I'm almost done with all the drugs they gave us to the hospital, and these drugs are sweet oh but she just doesn't care about that, I've tried putting it in her pap, her cup, her garri, blowing air in her face, singing, are there any other tricks out there cuz I'm thinking of going back to the hospital to ask them to inject her even tho she's almost done with her drugs what i did that helped was to use syringe and dispense in the corner of the mouth. I also had to give on empty stomach to prevent throwing up |

thotianna: Hello house, please I need advice.
I went for an evacuation procedure on Monday to remove any remnants of placenta from inside and I was given antibiotics and painkillers. The antibiotics was just to prevent infections from the procedure.
I noticed on the second day of taking the antibiotics that my babies stooling seemed to have increased to like 6 times a day from about three times before I started the antibiotics.
I checked online and sure enough the info there said that antibiotics makes babies have diarrhea.
I stopped the drugs immediately to avoid harming him. So yesterday I started feeling pains on my lower pelvis and I dunno what the cause was. I really hope it isn't an infection due to my stopping the drugs.
Please if anyone has any alternative precautions I can take to prevent infections which does not affect babies I would really appreciate your replies. Thanks.
My baby is less than three weeks old. I think you shouldn't have discontinued the antibiotics without consulting your doctor. They obviously know you are breastfeeding and would have considered it in the choice of drug, if it however was affecting your baby an alternative would be provided. Still speak to the doctor cos you also need to be fine. |

spiceeamiee: Good evening. Kudos to all the mama's keeping this thread alive. Please o,for some days now my baby's temp feels very hot to touch. Checks via thermometer shows normal temp but her head and feet especially feels very hot. She eats and plays fine and is very active but I'm worried. I have been tempted to give Pcm once but I don't know again o. As at now,her head is very hot. Temp is reading 36.9.. does this mean anything? What can I do? Thanks you have to go with the thermometer's reading. The temperature is within range. You can however do tepid bath to reduce the 'hotness' of the head. |

booqee: @lightedpath i saw one of ur post that says if the coconut oil wasn't homemade, that its best to switch to olive oil. I believe there are so many fakes out there..thats why u said so. Dyu know how to make it? Kindly share.. my method- break your coconut and bring out the meat. Cut into smaller sizes to help the blender. Blend with water till smooth. Seive the milk using something similar to what is used in making ogi. Put the milk in the fridge overnight. Water would have settled down and the milk and oil curdled up. Scrape the curdled milk into a pot and put on fire with low heat. Stir till brown . the oil will be out by now, scoop out the oil. There are other methods but I use this. Let me know if you have other questions |

HolySteph: Good evening mummies in the house. I'm a new mom and my baby is just a week old.. I discovered rashes on my baby on the third day of delivery I told my grandma amd mother in law but they said its change of skin, biko how person dey shade skin with so much rashes? initially I was cool with it but now its spreading all over his body. I asked them they keep saying the same thing.. I dn tire. I'm beginning to think its the hot weather couple with the hot bath every morning and night and with the coconut oil we apply on him. I can't seem to place where the problem is coming from. My baby feels uncomfortable at night and NEPA no dey try. I don't know if its the drugs they places me on after delivery that is passing through breastmilk to my baby?
Pls mamas help me.. Lukewarm water should be used not hot. You dont have to overdress the baby, the weather is hot. Let the room be well ventilated. If the coconut oil was not made by you, pls switch to olive oil and it shouldn't even be too much on the skin. |

Please, when can I start using shampoo on her hair? And which one should I get? I remember that it was said that we shouldn't wash the hair everyday. Zaynie, Muna 's hair is an inspiration to me. My daughter is just 8 weeks old. For now, I just wash the hair when she is bathing with her bathing soap and then apply olive oil and comb. Thanks in advance for your contributions.
