Chidinma Aaron on Sunday defeated 12 other finalists to win the 2018 Miss Nigeria beauty pageant crown.

Twelve top finalists filed out for the grand finale which took place on Sunday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

Others are Tizhe Usa Miriam, Okudili Odinaka Doris, Agida Stephanie, Ugwu Ijeoma, Aaron Chidinma Leilani, and Dunu Chisom Olivia The contestants were later reduced to five from where Aaron emerged. The final five were Dunu Chisom, Ntan Sharon Nton, Ameh Munirah, Agida Stephanie and Aaron Chidinma Leilani. Dunu eventually picked the prize for the first runner-up, while Ameh was named the second runner-up. Aaron, winner of the pageant, will take home N3 million, a luxury apartment and an automobile. She takes over the crown from Mildred Ehiguese who won the 2017 edition. With my crown I want to prove Edo girls are not prostitutes but achievers — Miss Africa Tourism There was no registration fee for the 2018 edition of the pageant in a bid to be all-inclusive and “to prevent financial restraints on the part of young ladies who are truly deserving of the ultimate title”.

- “For long-term storage of beans, synthetic chemicals (organophosphates, pyrethroids) can be applied as well as for empty space storage structure fumigation. The use of appropriate chemicals for grain storage is not harmful; rather it’s the improper use by untrained operators,” NSPRI said.

- The situation in the country has been that these chemicals are applied indiscriminately without due regards usually by ill-informed grain merchants. The proper actions are that the procedure for use of appropriate chemicals be performed by experts under safety precautions.

- Beans treated directly with chemicals could be consumed after six months of storage, during which their active ingredients would have degraded.
- The NSPRI boss, Professor Peter, said, “If you see that the grain is dusty and choky or has offensive odour or strange smell that is not peculiar to the grains, it may suggest that some kind of synthetic chemicals might have been used.

- Be careful.”Grains should be par-boiled, decanted and washed before final cooking. This will significantly reduce high levels of the chemical used to a safe limit for consumption. Grains bought for consumption should be kept at home for about two weeks before consumption.

- Thereafter, follow the step above for the recommended cooking procedure.”NSPRI warns that “if you are in doubt about the safety of any food, please avoid it. It is better to be hungry than to be late.”

Uniform is different from wearing of hijab. Does wearing of hijab change the school uniform? Students only wear hijab with the school uniform, and mostly same colour as the school uniform.

Wear your hijab in your home or mosque and not in public school. If you must cover your head, wear a beret. Same hijab rubbish happened in Lagos sometime ago and they were taken to court and worn. Hijab are currently not being worn in public schools in Lagos
