Steve Hodel, who seems to be plagued by his father's past, would like to keep digging at his former home but is not allowed to since it is now private property. And though it seems the case will never be ~officially~ solved... ... Even the LA District Attorney spoke out individually in support of Steve's claims against his father. Currently, the case remains closed, leaving the murder of Elizabeth Short unsolved and several questions unanswered. |
The third, and perhaps the most interesting suspect, is George Hodel. Hodel's house at the time had a secret room where the children were not allowed to go. George's son, Steve Hodel (who was five at the time of the Dahlia murder) later became a police investigator for 17 years. After leaving the force, he became convinced his own father was The Black Dahlia's murderer. Looking at the facts, Steve makes a pretty compelling case against his own father. George Hodel studied surgery in medical school. This suggests he was capable of the surgical disembowelment and mutilation that was found at the scene of the crime. Along with being a busy doctor, Hodel was also a busy bachelor, having 11 children from five different women. Steve also found a picture he believed was Elizabeth in his father's belongings. When it was originally examined, an expert said they were 85% sure it was not a match. However, when the photo was re-examined in 2014, an expert said it was a 90-95% match. Steve also thought his father's handwriting was eerily similar to that of the Black Dahlia's murderer. But again, when it was reviewed by experts, they could not come to a definite conclusion. Geoge Hodel was also accused by his own daughter of sexual assault. At one point, police officers did suspect Hodel of the murder and planted listening devices in his home... ...On these listening devices he was heard saying the following: He was also recorded saying, he'd "like to get a connection made in the DA's office." This suggests the possibility that George could have paid off the police – though it hasn't been confirmed. This could explain why the case was suddenly dropped and all relevant evidence seemingly disappeared. In 2012, George's son, Steve, again returned to his childhood home with a police dog. Here, the dog found scents of human remains. Soil samples also came back positive with evidence of human remains. Although the soil findings don't connect George to The Black Dahlia's murder (since she wasn't buried) it does suggest he may not have been a stranger to murder. |
The death of The Black Dahlia is one of the most infamous unsolved murders in American history. So, what happened to Elizabeth Short and who were the suspects in this chilling murder? On January 15, 1947, the remains of Elizabeth Short (now infamously known as "The Black Dahlia" were found.Elizabeth Short's body was found on 3800 S Norton Ave., in Los Angeles, CA. The person who discovered her body originally mistook it for a mannequin because the body was so pale and drained of all its blood. There was no blood on the ground around Short, indicating her body had been moved there after the murder took place. Her face was cut from her mouth to her ears, forming an ever-present smile. Nine days after she was found dead, The Examiner received a letter with a message cut from movie clippings. The letter read: "... Here is Dahlia's belongings, letter to follow." Sure enough, the letter contained Short's birth certificate, social security number, snapshots that belonged to her, and an old address book. Police were unable to identify a suspect from the papers because gasoline had been rubbed on the documents to remove any fingerprints. Several notes were sent to the police and press after. One letter read: "Turning in Wed, Jan 29. 10 A.M. Had my fun with police. – Black Dahlia Avenger." However, no one ever turned themselves in. Before arriving in Los Angeles, Short spent time in San Diego with a man named Robert Manley. Manley then drove Short to the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. This was apparently the last place Elizabeth was seen alive. Guests have since reported seeing the ghost of The Black Dahlia wandering around the first floor. Others say that after Manley dropped Elizabeth off at the hotel, she went to the Crown Grill bar, which is now known as "Club Galaxy." So, who are the suspects in this case which has been left unsolved for over 70 years? The first is, of course, Robert Manley , the man who dropped Elizabeth off at the hotel. However, Manley returned to San Diego before her death and passed a polygraph. It should be noted that Manley was previously committed to a mental hospital before Elizabeth’s death after he reported hearing voices. The second suspect was Joseph Dumais , who claimed to be blackout drunk with Elizabeth a couple days before her death. He actually originally confessed to killing her, but was on his military base the day of her death... making that essentially impossible. |
marklele:your head dey there, some guys will see it as a way of insinuating that she is desperate or cheap, for me I will value her, because for her to leave her comfort zone, despite the norms of our society that a guy should make the first move all the time, despite the fact that you may see it demeaning and she still let you know her intentions, Damn!!!! you are game baby. |
In this part of the world, some people may say you are not man enough to take care of her, but the thing is, we should grow up and not look at the guy as a MasterCard or something who is going to carry the burden of his own family and the in laws as well..... we should all see marriage as something two people will nurture and make it grow to our standard and not something left for one person. for your question, I guess the guy should look for a cunning way to ask her, so that she will not freak out. |
. What will be your choice?
One day, during an evening class for adults, the
Psychology Teacher entered the class and told
students, “Let’s all play a game!” “ What Game?”
The Teacher asked one of the students to
volunteer.
A lady, Adiza came forward.
The Teacher asked her to write 30 names of most
important people in her life on blackboard.
Adiza wrote names of her family members,
relatives, friends, her colleagues and her
neighbours.
The Teacher told her to erase 3 names that Adiza
considered most unimportant.
Adiza erased names of her colleagues.
The Teacher again told her to delete 5 more
names. Adiza erased her neighbour's names.
This went on until there were just four names left
on the blackboard. These were names of her
mother, father, husband and the only son...
The entire class became silent realizing that this
wasn’t a game anymore for Adiza alone.
Now, The Teacher told her to delete two more
names.
It was a very difficult choice for Adiza.
She unwillingly deleted her parents names.
“Please delete one more” said the Teacher.
Adiza became very nervous and with trembling
hands and tears in her eyes she deleted her son’s
name. Adiza cried painfully...
The Teacher told Adiza to take her seat.
After a while Teacher asked "why your husband??
The parents are the ones that nurtured you, and
the son is the one you gave birth to And you
can always find another husband !!!"
Total silence in the class.
Everyone was curious to know her response.
Adiza calmly and slowly said, “One day my
parents will pass away before me.
My son may also leave me when he grows old, for
his studies or business or whatever reason. The
only one who will truly share his entire life with
me, is my Husband”.
All the students stood up and applauded for her
for sharing this truth of life
