Politics / Re: Obasanjo, IBB, Danjuma, Others Running Nigeria With Buhari - Pat Utomi by linuxuser(m): 8:25pm On May 24, 2017
The question is. are these youths ready? They are prepared to sacrifice their future for the sake of being paid a peanut money as a BMC and thugs and touts for the politicians and if anyone talks, they will be the first one to defend their paymaster in APC/PDP. And another truth is that even the youths are more corrupt than the olds. You give a child 1000 naira to buy a recharge card of 750 naira and see if he/she will willingly give you your change of 250 naira. That is where the problem is. Corruption is embedded in our blood

axglide:

True and the quoted above is spot on.

I believe until we have more intellectuals in Governance especially policy positions like National Assembly, who have the yearnings and cries of the average Nigerian at heart, then we can say there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I have been thinking that the Nigeria of our dreams may not be actualized in my Generation.

Were still very young as a nation at 57, that's why you still have those who saw many of our founding fathers, some that even partook in their killing and assassinations are at still around. Am talking of the class of '66 that the prof mentioned.

America was 57 in 1833, and they have not even encountered their greatest president Abraham Lincoln by then.

We still need more than a 100 years of good, positive and developmental governance, by then all the class of '66, '76' '86 and many more of our generation might have been gone by then.

The Nigeria of our dreams is most likely for our great great great great grand children.

The simple answer to that is because Nigerians are the most fantastically corrupt people as per your president so who can trust them. If you employ a Nigerian, the first thing they do is that they will start looking for your bank card and cheque book or if they have access to sensitive information will look for how to sell it for money.

Politics / Re: Atiku’s Wife: How A Pastor I Trusted Defrauded Me Of N918million by linuxuser(m): 11:06pm On May 23, 2017
Anyone can claim to be a Pastor or anything. Buhari claimed to have a certificate but instead of him producing the certificate he hired about 10-15 SANS to defend him. When Obama was told that he was not born in the USA, he produced his birth certificate but Buhari instead went about hiring SANS to forestall producing the certificate. If anyone has been looking for jobs and woke up one day and say he is a pastor, does that mean he is a pastor? Criminals can claim or pretend to be anything just like Atiku's have many identities. Thief outsmarts thief. However, the loser in this will be the company that bought the property in question if we go by the case of Rowland v Divall. If you buy a stolen good or property, well the property will be returned to the rightful owner.

Do you really want us to share this with our friends? Really? Shame on you. When he was jailed you did not ask us to share the news with our friends but because he won a case of unlawful detention for ONE DAY, you now want to share this. I am sure if people like you ever get to power, your corruption will be unprecedented and second to none.

Nagisa:
Former Delta State Governor, James Ibori who was released after serving 13 years in a UK prison last December has won his case against the UK Government for unlawful detention by the British Home Secretary, Amber Rudd.

Ibori whose case was heard before Justice Cheema-Grubb was awarded the sum of £1 (1 pound) as damages by the London High Court.

UK Evening Standard reports that the presiding judge in his ruling declared that Ibori was unlawfully held for one day, 18 hours and 10 minutes between December 20 and 21 last year and has such awarded the £1 to be paid to James Ibori as damages as against the £4,000 demanded by the former governor in his suit.

Justice Cheema-Grubb while delivering his ruling said: “There is no compensatory loss to Mr Ibori and I fix nominal damages at £1.”

This interviews just give credence to what many people have been saying. The dullard's absence does not make any difference which means Buhari is insignificant as far as ability to govern is concerned. If you are a father, and your children said your presence at home and ability to do the work of a father does not make a difference i.e if you die absent dad we won't miss you, that speaks a lot. The Minister acknowledged that Buhari's presence does not change anything because he is incompetent.

Gistpeeps:

The Minister of State for Petroluem, Ibe Kachikwu on Monday disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has been holding meetings with top government functionaries and playing some roles despite being on medical vacation in London.

According to Kachikwu, the President’s health makes little or no difference in running his administration.

“He has a very efficient Vice-President who is sitting in for him in his absence. It really hasn’t made much of a difference.”

Christianity, unfortunately, is not about logic or common sense. You either accept the Bible or not. Remember I did not say what any person say or did not say. Jesus is the way and the truth. Believing it or otherwise is a choice. The Bible is everywhere. Buy one and read it yourself and then ask questions if you want to know more. Christianity is that simple.

Well like I said previously, I agree to some extent with some of your points, but I did not agree that the zoning was jettisoned but rather it was Jonathan that tried to play smart and he was outdone by people that are smarter than him. Six years was enough for Jonathan to effectively carry out any change that he deems fit. He does not need 10 years and never got it. Jonathan may be a good man but he does not have the quality of a president to lead Nigeria for 10 years that is simply the truth. That he is from the minority is completely irrelevant. The Presidency should not be able my zone or your zone but rather it should be on the quality and ability of the person concerned.

Look at Nigeria now in the hand of the dullard of Daura. He only wanted at all cost to carry out vengeance/vendettas and that is why Nigeria has not moved forward in the last 2 years. His incompetence is even worse than that of Jonathan but there you have him. His supporters would want him to rule from the grave because they are his supporters. None of them thinks about Nigeria collectively. The Daura President was there in 1984 or thereabout and inflicted the worst economic policy on Nigerians. History is repeating its self now. Nigerians can no longer eat three meals now. We have been drawn back by Buhari's cluelessness and bigotry.

LordAdam16:

The North did not concede 2011 to him. Stop trying to revise history.

The South outgunned the North and enlisted the support of the North Central.

In 2015, the North made it a do-or-die affair. The North Central was warned and the SW was coerced to abandon the Southern Alliance.

How can you say the SS was given the presidency on a platter of silver by the North. The North underestimated the Southern resolve and paid dearly. Because both Ribadu and Buhari fielded Yoruba candidates.

In 2015, they played their cards well and got Buhari elected. They never wanted GEJ to rule for one day.

The fact that Osinbajo would not win any election in 2019 if he contests is not because it is Northern zoning, it is because the North has experience in this situation and are vastly prepared in this situation. Furthermore, the Southern Alliance had been shattered beyond repair in 2015. So, there's no way the SW can upset the North like the SS did in 2011.

If the SW hadn't been myopic in 2015 and the saboteurs in PDP who were all in on the Northern conspiracy, GEJ would have won. He would have handed over to the North in 2019, with the Southern Alliance becoming the undisputed dictator of political careers in Nigeria.

Now the realization is haunting the SW because they realize Osinbajo may not take over if anything happens to Buhari, and they know that even if they cross that hurdle, 2019 is the final bus stop. The prize for breaking the alliance is that the North now dictates political careers.

So I maintain what I said, NW mandate was suspended when Yar'Adua died, and the SS would have returned their mandate in 2019. The North was never comfortable and impatient that we had a Southern minority president so soon in the country's democracy.

Yes, you won't make heaven because that is what the Bible say. We don't have to start any arguments about this. The bible and Jesus give us a free will. So with due respect, whether or not to accept JESUS as the only way is a matter of choice. The bible says JESUS, the only way and the TRUTH. "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 4:16

Whatsoever interpretation anyone wants to give that verse is up to them. That will not change anything and that is the reason I said its nothing for me and you and or anyone to argue about. You believe the Bible, accept it. You don't believe the Bible, your choice.

Christianity is not a religion but an experience. You want to experience Jesus, believe and accept Jesus as the way and the truth and if you choose otherwise; all the well too as you are entitled to exercise your free will. No animosity or bitterness about it. As a Christian, I have muslim, amongst other religion as friends and we relate together truthfully and sincerely without any fight. They respect my belief and I respect theirs even though our religious holding is quite different.

Politics / Re: Osinbajo orders 24-hour operations at Apapa Port by linuxuser(m): 11:40am On May 20, 2017
The rotational agreement was never suspended at no time and Jonathan knows that. He became president by coincidence and he knows that too. Jonathan also knows that he is a lightweight politician and that if not for Obasanjo he won't even be vice president in the first instance. People should know their limits. Obasanjo spent 8 years. As at the time Jonathan took over, it was still the turn of the north to hold the presidency but the north conceded 2011 to him to enable him to serve his country. Jonathan himself knows that the north was agitating to get back the presidency come 2015. Why did he take so much time for him to declare his intention to contest in 2015? If the rotational agreement was suspended why would some people be against him?

Osunbajo will never be the presidential candidate of any party even if anything happens to the dullard Buhari. If Osunbajo wants to be president he is free to do that but it will never be automatic for him under APC. Osunbanjo will never even win his village election not to talk of the country. The benefit of the doubt that Jonathan got in 2011 will never be extended to Osunbajo no matter how good boy he tries to be.

I agree that had Jonathan being a Northerner the sentiment would have been different. That is perfectly corrected. But bear in mind that that sentiment will only hold because its the rotational time for the north. The main reason he got all the issues associated is because he broke the rotational agreement. It's not because he is from any minority. If the sentiment of the minority was to hold the north would not have allowed him to pick the ticket in 2011 anyway.

LordAdam16:

There is nothing like cluelessness there.

The rule of rotation was suspended the moment Yar'Adua died.

Jonathan should have been allowed to complete his next tenure so the SS would have 10 years.

Because if Buhari isn't incapacitated, he would have ruled for 8 uninterrupted years, which plus Yar'Adua's 2 years equals 10 years for the NW.

Today, if Buhari dies and Osinbajo becomes the President, he'd have 2 years which plus Obasanjo's 8 years equals 10 years for the SW.

After Jonathan's rule, Presidency had already being zoned to the North in all major parties. So why could the north not exercise 4 years of patience?

GEJ was hated for being a SS minority president, all this talk about weakness, incompetence, and cluelessness is bunch of nonsense.

If GEJ was a Northerner, he would have been called the best thing since sliced bread. All his faults would have been magically explained as strengths.

How many ports are in Lagos State and how many are in Ekiti state? When was Lagos State created and when was Ekiti state created? How many roads and farms did the last APC government in Ekiti built or created as applicable.
Politics / Re: Osinbajo orders 24-hour operations at Apapa Port by linuxuser(m): 11:10am On May 20, 2017
Jonathan's cluelessness is the fact that he thinks he can change the rule of rotation by contesting the 2015 election. He should have bowed out after six years. Period.

LordAdam16:

Exactly. Omohayek is intelligent in the technical aspects of how to get Nigeria back on track, but very myopic on the personnel side of things.

Nigeria can never have an all-round President that satisfies all the whims. It is impossible.

Fashola, Soludo, and El-Rufai are not better than Yar'Adua or GEJ.

All 3 of these younger "bright" minds he mentioned are excessively more corrupt than GEJ both individually and collectively.

Yar'Adua was a Marxist but had the most respect for the rule of law of all Nigerian leaders post-1999.

GEJ was the first Southern minority leader in the history of Nigeria and he knew if he wanted to maintain any iota of legacy, he didn't have to be act like a strong military man putting enemies in the gallows. It was the smart thing to do but it wasn't even enough.

Fashola, Soludo, and el-Rufai would perform in their own way, but they'd also bring lots of baggage.

Fashola would tax Nigerians to the high heavens and make Buhari's pummeling sound like child's play.

Soludo doesn't know how to manage people and he'd fight with everybody.

el-Rufai may likely lead Nigeria to a civil war. All of them would be doubly corrupt than any Nigerian Leader in recent history.

Buhari should never have become President, that much is certain. But now that he is president, let us not pretend that he is the only one at fault. He increased Amaechi's Ministry allocation by 1000% compared to what GEJ gave the Ministry, and Amaechi squandered it calling completion of a 80%-completed project (he himself said it this week) an achievement.

Fashola's rating is a tad below average, for all the freedom, responsibility, and money given him. If GEJ had given Barth the same level of freedom and backing as Buhari has given Fashola, Barth would outperform Fashola convincingly.

Let's not even talk about Osinbajo and Adeosun who were in charge of the economy and took 18 months to put together a fiscal plan. 18 MONTHS!!!

Compare these so-called super ministers to ministers like Mohammed and Ibe and it becomes apparent that they have ZERO excuses.

You can't make hard line economic decisions without holding the polity in your grip comfortably. If Osinbajo had removed subsidy there would have been more protests than happened when Buhari removed subsidy. It has nothing to do with being weak, it's all about the mindset of the polity.

GEJ sacked the Attorney General and disbanded the cabinet to remove all Yar'Adua loyalists days after he was made Acting President while Yar'Adua was still alive. GEJ looked America in the eye and told them to Bleep off when they wouldn't provide weapons. He looked EU in the eye and told them to lick his backside when they brought their imperialist economic plan. He embraced China when the West was blowing hot. He privatized power despite the opposition. He implemented BVN and IPPPS despite the opposition from the polity. If he had worked out the kinks of the TSA and Whistle Blowing programmes in time, he would have implemented them.

Yet despite all of this, he is called a weak person. Someone who sacked the House of Representatives and cowed the legislature, something Buhari wouldn't dare do. Someone who disregarded the Northern Leaders and the Sultan to impose emergency rule in Northern states.

I don't know what you guys wanted from the man. 3 regions had already vowed to frustrate his government, 1 region was crying about marginalization, 2 others said he wasn't doing enough. There was evidence of complicity from people in his government, the military, and the polity in the rise of Boko Haram, should he have become a dictator like Erdogan, before he'd have been termed strong.

Or should he have placed his few core loyalists in a sea of open and hidden disloyalists on the chopping block just to please a populace that didn't see beyond their nose when he wanted to remove subsidy or the same disloyalists?

Omohayek can call GEJ's government corrupt, every government in Nigeria is corrupt including the present one, but never in his life should he call him weak and incompetent. That is completely untrue. For a minority civilian president, he was phenomenal.

Osibanjo himself knows that he is NOT the president and there are limits to what he can and must do in exercising his duty as the acting president.
Nobody voted for Osibanjo but rather people voted for illiterate Buhari and he remains the president until his tenure expires, impeached or dies. All these noises about Osibanjo can do this or can that is nothing more than an empty noise. So you people think if a dispute goes to court, you think the court will rule against Buhari? Think well. The court will have to bear in mind things including setting a precedent amongst other things.

Lightening:

In the eyes of the law, the president and commander in chief of Nigeria is Osibanjo. Until Buhari writes to the National assembly notifying them of his resumption, whatever he does in the capacity of the president is ultra vires. Get the drift please.

With due respect to you, it's probably possible that you are not even born when I finished secondary school. It may be possible also that the education I have in respect of all area of Law either constitutional, criminal, Tort, trust, etc that you don't have it. That is just by the way.

Osibanjo is not the president of Nigeria. He cannot use the seal of the president and even if he does he must use the word "acting". The substantive president can still do his lawful duty while on leave if he is in a right frame of mind. The interpretations of the letter written to National assembly does not remove Buhari as the president because he is on leave. Why would Buhari be honoured with the presidential guard anytime he arrives the country. Why don't they say he is still on leave and wait until be writes to National Assembly before he will be accorded with the presidential honours.

Buhari has the right and power to sign the budget if he chooses to and that is in line with the constitution. If the cabals sign the budget by forgery then such signature is not worthless but if Buhari in his right frame of mind signs it, then so be it.

k9ine:
Please answer this questin truthfully.
Did you ever attend a Senior Secondary school, or you stopped schooling after your junior WAEC ecams?

It is very clear you do not have an inkling of governance, or constitutional law, if you do, I believe you are willfully telling yourself what is not possible.

Why do you think a President of a nation hands over power to his VP to become Acting-President? The position of the President and C-in-C should never be vacant hence the VP is empowered to act in full presidential powers when the President is unavailabe (due to annual leave, medical leave, or suddenly becomes incapacitated without the opportuinity to write to the NASS).

Like someone said, UNTIL Buhari writes to the Senate that he has RESUMED office, he CANNOT assent to the bill.

If by any dubious means, Kyari's cabal gets Buhari who is on leave to sign it, a flood gate of litigations will arise. Why? His signature would have made the bill so assented to by him to be as worthless as the paper used in printing it. Its as simple as that.

It's sad that we always find a way to complicate so very simple things.

Politics / Re: Buhari’ll Sign 2017 Budget, Osinbajo’ll Take It From There – Ita Enang by linuxuser(m): 1:00am On May 19, 2017
Buhari is the substantive president. Osibanjo is simply a coordinator. Buhari must sign the budget if he so wishes. An acting does not translate to the real. Osibanjoo only acts for his master and the master can decide what he wants his subordinate to do as long as he is in the right frame of mind. The constitution did not say Buhari must sign the budget in Nigeria. He can sign it wherever he is except in the grave. Buhari is still alive and as long as he is alive, Osibanjo has a limited remit. We should stop polarising the country and needs to call a spade a spade.

A coup at this time may be a better option for Nigeria under this circumstances. The dullard we have is a dead man walking and Osinbanjo should not be allowed to take the place of the presidency so that the rotation agreement can be preserved. Obasanjo was there for 8 years. Why should another Yoruba man be the president again? It's not done and it should not happen. It's the north's time to the president and we should not shy away from that. An agreement is an agreement. We need to respect that except we are all saying that the north is not part of Nigeria again.

Osibanjo can not win in his Local Government talk less winning in a region. We have all learnt our lesson from Jonathan gullibility. Osibanjo is a lightweight politician and does not know his right from his left. His father Tinubu will not even support him for the presidency. How would he get the presidential ticket? On which platform? APC or PDP or which party? The north is entitled to be in the presidency for the next 6 years. Any arrangement that does not favour that should and will fail.

Obi1kenobi:

If Osibanjo runs, the same thing that happened with Jonathan will happen again. He would win, and the North will be crying again. Louder this time, and probably with some street violence meted out to southerners up North. Buhari only won because he was able to create a governing coalition with the AC juggernaut in the SW. No Northerner will get SW votes in the next election. Osibanjo would sweep the entire South and make big gains in the Middle Belt.

I will rather say a dead dullard in Buhari is better than Atiku. We all know that Buhari is nothing more than an illiterate and hence does not know his right from his right. However, he is well well better than Atiku. All that Atiku wants is similar to that of the Daura President. Power at all cost.
The people the Daura President locked up are all enjoying their health even in prison but where is the dullard? In London squandering the nation's money. The blood of all the people killed by him directly or indirectly are carrying so Buhari will not enjoy that presidency in peace.

You may also want to give some reasons why Atiku should be voted for.

BMC agents hate Atiku...

What they fail to realize is that a dead atiku is better than a living Buhari..

Atiku, I'd campaign for you. .and you would win!

The North have no problem with the rule of law. Nigeria politics run on the basis of rotation. It's the North's time so they must enjoy it to the full. Obasanjo was there for 8 years. Jonathan was there by the rule of reason for 6 years. It's fair for the North to be the president. What is good for the south should be good for the North as well. We should not be clamouring to change the rule in the middle of a game. Let's respect agreement even if it does not favour us when you are party to that agreement.

Jonathan gave away the presidency not that he lost. If you cannot keep an agreement then what so ever is the consequence you bear it. Jonathan was so gullible to think he can win after betraying the rotation agreement. Atiku can never win an election in Nigeria. Let him spend all the money he got fraudulently and go to USA and spend five weeks with him wife there.

Same way the current vegetable in chief recontested so many times before finally winning.......Atiku stands a very bright chance to win in 2019 if the current vegetable doesnt contest.......he is more qualified sef....

Never say never...same thing Jonathans people said about Vegetable......you know what later happened.....never say never......do not write off a living man.
