mubarakopeyemi: Ok, briefly. I seriously need informations on Direct entry procedures from a polytechnic to a University.
Ever since when I was seeking admission into a tertiary institution, I've been hearing two different things on this direct entry issue and I'm completely novice about it. I'm just finishing my National Diploma Accountancy PT Program at Yaba college of technology and my current CGPA stays close to Distinction at 3.43 which means I might make it to distinction (3.50) with our ongoing final exams.

1- Some people told me that before DE can be done, one needs to write Jamb and one must chose the preferred university which you want to make your DE to, some said it isn't required. And when I keep asking, people keep saying one of these two. I'm confused and don't know which is right or wrong.
But it would make deal sense if Jamb is out of it

2- I was considering a DE to Unilag, and according to what I heard from those that I asked, some said they only accept a Distinction and some said they accept Upper credit too, I'm not ready to jeopardize any chance of rapidly progressing with my academic life, as said earlier; I might make distinction and I may not, so I need infos circulating this dark side of the issue.

3- lastly, a list of universities and their requirements for DE would be highly appreciated just to help a toddling learner lol

For ur questions the answers are
1 . You will buy jamb direct entry, wwhich is different from normal jamb form, at times both are sold same amount but they serve differnt purpose, again you will not write jamb ok, the purpose of the form is for you to get jamb reg number and choose the university of ur choice, thereafter you will go to the uni you choose as choice to write post DE screen when the advertise for it

2. Yes its true unilag dont accept upper credit except distinction only, ols be well guided, so if you make distinction go unilag, upper go to some other federal unis

3. Uniben, Unn, ife, Abu, Futo, Unical, Uniuyo etc

ansellotty: Things to note:

There is no need applying with Lower Credit for those with OND, except for HND holders.

Don't use any other passport background except red.

Make sure your O,level didn't came after your higher qualification or after the year of matriculation in your previous institution. Eg XYZ institution admitted u with 4, Olevel credit in 2010. After matriculation you sat to remedy the deficiency in 2011. My dear, UNIBEN calls that ' Post-Matriculation Certificate' though students were considered last session. This year may be different.

Ensure there is no discrepancy in either names/age in any of your acclaimed certificates.

It pains to see people losing their admission after all the struggle. That's why I finds it apposite to share this.

Above all, I wish all ECOSTAT aspirants the very best of luck. We applied just like this last year & by His grace, majority of us in Nairaland got the admission. Best of luck!

Enosa1: Yes! I heard HND distinction and upper student are admitted into 300l, but they must have to do well in POST DE...BTW why not go for PGD instead and what poly did you obtain HND?

Thank you enosa for ur response, wel i finish from IMT. Enugu, from Banking and Finance dept with CGPA of 3.21/4.00. As for PGD i think it will take up to 15 mnths to conclude everything and get ur result which is almost equivalent to direct entry 0f 18mnths and afterwards you bag Bsc and never DIPLOMA again

pls somebody should enlighten me on whether HND upper credit will actually be admitted into 300l in Uniben thru DE as it is in the brochure?

@ op, the truth is that the choice is 70% solely on your hands. But my single advice to you is, 'study the labour trend of the economy and make a wise decision' . check the analysis below

1. Agricultural profession in Nigeria is something you will leave to regret if you study a related course owing to the fact that government care less about the sector and private sectors are not interested in investing there capital in such unlucrative venture that is not protected for now. So think wise

2. Engineering at the moment in Nigeria is hot cake, since you are good at mathematics i urge you to take any of the engine courses, then do your best and come with either 2.1 or first class and trust me the sky will be your begining.

Have it in mind that as young graduate your first priority is to get a well paid job. Some weak mind will tell you it not certificate that is what you can do but dont mind such statement. stick to getting the best out of school.

@op, that is the consequences of not writing jamb yourself. You think after paying money to get a better jamb score will solv the problem, you cannot eat ur cake and ve it ok. So go sit up well and prepare for next year jamb. Unilorin i know will never give you admission with that score. thank you.

am a young graduate who has finish serving his fatherland 8months ago.
My problem started showcasing when i was in 300level and i dated a girl
who always complains she dont enjoy having sex with me because my PENIS
is too small, though i never take it serious since am not much into
women.
Now am working and doing fine as a young man, but i cant find a wife
or love because of my small PENIS, any girl that i meet will dump me
after the first intercourse due to my small PENIS.

@curiousmind11. Please i want to let you know that only 1% of 3rd class graduates can be able to defend their poor result talk of been worth it. You can hadly find a 3rd class student who is good ok,

To butress ur point about 2.1 and 1st class, it is uncommon to see a dull FC product and again talking of 2.1, you can only see dull student with such result only from some private universities and some states, but never from federal universities in Nigeria.

So please dont justify 3rd class
