The Board of Punch has recognized several ministers for their positive contributions but notably omitted mentioning the significant impact made by Adelabu from the Ministry of Power. This raises questions about public awareness in Nigeria regarding the true value of these contributions. For instance, while the Interior Minister has achieved minor improvements in passport processing, this pales in comparison to the substantial advancements in power supply that benefit approximately 40% of the electricity market. It seems there is a disconnect in understanding which achievements genuinely enhance the lives of Nigerians.

Wike you're not God
He probably didn't attend because he already knows the outcome. Events are set to unfold next week, which may explain why the governor is holding the swearing-in on a Sunday. This unnecessary drama does not promote peace or prosperity; all parties should seek common ground for the benefit of the people

LP would have won the 2023 Gubernatorial election in Lagos or given Sanwo Olu a run for his money ..heck they even won Eti-Osa Fed.
It was the boasting of the Igbos shortly after the election that irritated the Yoruba, even the moderate progressive ones felt.insulted.by it.
Sadly that voting pattern will never emerge again for any Igbo candidates in Lagos or SW
You are prolly right but I think there is more to it..

Emphasis on free, fair, and credible elections

Not grab, snatch, and run away with it kind of election

If an election is held today, I mean, if a free, fair, and credible election is held today, Tinubu won't garner up to 50,000 votes nation-wide.
I’m not sure which state or region you’re in, but where I live, elections are generally free, fair, and credible. If that weren't the case, there's no way the Labour Party would have won the presidential elections in Lagos.
It's important to recognize that elections worldwide are largely popularity contests rather than tests of competency or fairness.

You're kidding if you think he could lose Lagos again. If an election were held today, I would confidently bet on BAT to win without a doubt. Just consider how the APC triumphed in the gubernatorial election only two weeks after the presidential elections. If you can explain that, then you’ll understand why I’m so sure BAT will win today.

Perhaps, you think I didn't go to school to be decode lines of encrypted sentences. Nigeria policies are always beautiful on paper. Sagacity to write beautiful plans but no political will to bring it to fruition.

I can give list of policies that started like this, that went cold in the middle never to be heard of again.
Where's the encryption? I don't intend to undermine your viewpoint, but your comment implies that you may not have opened the link. If you had, you would have seen that the document was produced by a private firm rather than the government. The primary goal is to offer an impartial perspective on the electricity market for potential investors.

It should be meaningful reduction o not reducing 2 Naira from N262 and call it reduction.

The reductions will be marginal based off efficiency of the system but if we really want significant reduction the naira have to significantly appreciate against the USD.

The share price is likely to drop between now and Oct 23 when the results would be announced, providing an opportunity for those interested to buy.
Meanwhile, the court case (involving the 14 loser minority shareholders) comes up on Oct 10. If still
interested you can try and buy before the Oct10, and thereafter before Oct 2023.

Note:
The above is purely for only those of us who may still be interested or already in Oando:

IfnobeGod20:
I have already replied you on your misplaced idea.
Now, I posed to you in one of my comments, as you people claimed there is an improved electricity and you enjoy over 20hrs electricity per day, how many MW has been added to the power generated and how much distributed successfully?
Before Buhari left as at May 18, 2023 estimated peak generation was 4,725.60MW and lowest generation at 2,674MW. And as at that time the issue of light was still a big problem in the nation.
Now that the power generated is 5,500MW and the amount distributed is less than 5,000MW. How would that give 40% of consumers 20hrs electricity per day when on record the country will be needing not less than 40,000MW of electricity for consumers connected to the grid to have stable electricity.

By this 40%, it mean the country will only be needing less than 15,000MW which is in contrast to the estimated number that can power and give stable light to consumers already connected to the Nigerian grid.

I made a classical example of South Africa. SA have power generated of 42,000MW with 63m as population but they are still not enjoying 24hrs stable electricity with that huge generation but Nigeria generating 5,500MW claimed that 40% of consumers are enjoying over 20hrs electricity per day. It means that fewer Nigerians are connected to the grid and many Nigerians are still living in stone age and light are not connected to them. We can safely say, Nigeria as a country is a still underdeveloped nation.
This is just simple education and arithmetic but as some of you cannot reason beyond what is thrown at you people, you take everything hook line and sinker.

I thought your link will show me details of how gas are been used to generate those electricity at various hydropower stations but all I see here are details of distribution of generated electricity to different locations.
I won't go low to your level, next time be armed with fact before you throw abuses to people. It's never a must you comment. I give you this first abuse since it is your first mistake.
Just I have said, let me help you small.
There are 25 thermal power plant in Nigeria and 24 operate on gas turbine power plant. There combined power generation is not up to half of 8 hydropower plant generation for the country. For the avoidance of doubt here are the generation from each thermal hydropower plant in Nigeria.
Kainji (760 MW), Jebba (576 MW), Shiroro (600 MW), Egbin (1100 MW), Sapele (1020 MW), Delta (900MW) Afam IV-V (776MW), Geregu (414MW).
Meanwhile, these gas turbines are mostly located in SE and SS where there are high deposit of gas.
Besides, your link even substantiated what I said about the figure the minister threw out. He said 5,500MW and this record said 4,900 or there about. The very big question is, how will 4,900MW of electricity provide over 20hrs electricity per day for 40% electricity consumers in Nigeria. Meaning Nigeria will be needing less than 15,000MW for over 20hrs electricity per day in a country with over 200m people. South Africa is generating 42,000MW for 63m citizens and they are still generating more because the light is still insufficient to cover the consumers. You see that there are times you need to use your common sense rather than been a zombie to those taking you for granted.

CAPITALBEE:
Electricity supply has improved in some quarters in Nigeria tbh, we can't neglect the fact that increased gas supply to the very many thermal plants has contributed immensely to this improved supply (Only a few percentage of the electricity generated come from the hydroelectric power plants - for those mentioning rainy season) - The segregation of consumers into different bands, mass metering agenda, and the imposition of a bilateral agreement between the discos and gencos is part of the few changes the ministry of power has initiated over the years to remove notable bottlenecks and further spur improvement in the sector.

👉🏻 To the assertion of the Minister of Power that 40% of electricity consumers enjoy not less than 20hrs power supply - A report from statistica says the total number of electricity consumers registered with the eleven discos stands at 12.6million as of September 2023. Given this, only about 5.04million consumers across the country are been referred to here.

👉🏻 This in itself is still very poor given how much improvement is ideal in the sector taken cognizance of the number of Nigerian homes and businesses that need to enjoy steady power supply to spur economic growth.

The improvement is due to heavy downpour of rain and not because they added significant amount of electricity. It's a usual thing to enjoy improved electricity during rainy season. Look out for next year it would be the same.
Why are you exhibiting your ignorance with confidence? Most of the generation comes from Gas not hydro and there are significant improvements you can track disco load here https://niggrid.org/DisCoLoadProfile

I believe the cash injection refers to an increase in physical currency rather than just overall liquidity. This view is supported by the increase in the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) from 45% to 50%. As a result, we are likely to see more noticeable changes in the banking system. Specifically, you can expect to find ATMs stocked with more cash, including new banknotes. This indicates a deliberate effort to enhance the amount of physical currency in circulation, rather than merely increasing electronic or bank-held liquidity.

I believe that any business generating over $1 billion in revenue, including government-owned enterprises, should be required to list on the stock market. This would greatly enhance accountability and transparency within our socio-economic landscape as a nation.
