Hi, i have not been in the laptop buisness for nearly a year but i would recommend dell because its very strong build and good prices. You should know that the new in thing is called i3 or i5 or i7 brand of processor. The core duo 2 is now old news so should sell cheaper .If you hang on for another few months to let the new intel i processors to start landing nigeria properly those with core duo 2 will be forced to drop prices because you can find in USA a i3 laptop for about $550 (lowest possible range) which is about 80k and with importing or so i expect to sell for about 110k. Just like core duo made people slash prices on pent 4 laptop same will happen now to core duo. Also think what specs you rather sacrifice to decide which sort of laptop you want. for instance if you plan to play newer games on it ,you will need a dedicated graphics card which will add no less then 30k to your bill. Some dedicated graphics cards cost $500 however . Also the screen size.Bigger obviously means better viewing which is better for playing dvd and games. Size of hard drive is also a factor. Some people prefer to get a smaller hard drive and use external portable hard drive to reduce the inital cost of the laptop. For vista i suggest you get no less then 2gb RAM preferable 3 or 4gb.Win 7 is out now and i am using it and its a much better OS. Some makers of laptop are cheaper.I recommend emachines which makes basic laptops but at low price but the case is not as strong as say dell or sony. But you can get a good discount. For instance http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-8624.aspx When i wasinto laptop emchaines was a big seller for me as i could sell them at 70k brand new. |
if you can raise the money it will work for sure.nothing to do with the food (someone mentioned standards earlier and i laughed).Mac has terrible tasting food even burger king is better. But here in the UK if a family member comes around with his kids i take them there because simply put its cheap! Nigerians will flock in drones to it even if they know its expensive and terrible because we like to dress ,talk and now we can eat like americans. An instant hit i think. You will cover the franchise cost in under 1 year easily. |
i am finishing my house in benin city and as i used this kind of roofing in UK and its proven to be extremely good , i am considering using this in my house in Nigeria. Its cheaper then aluminum (at least here in uk) ,very very strong (by the time they put the sheets down it is almost as strong as steel!),very durable .It apparently has a the lowest incidence of leaking and speaking to a guy who fits and makes them here he said that heat expands it and even makes the seal stronger(good for nigeria then maybe?) Is there anyone in Nigeria that supplies and makes this ? You can email me at xakanrn@yahoo.com.i would of course prefer a benin city supplier if possible. Anyone has a comment also on this matter? |
lord of the rings or star wars |
lotr all the way .harry potter is not even in the same class as lotr but as films or the novels. there is a lotr online game which can be played with thousands others at same time but i am not sure our internet fit carry am ! http://www.lotro.com/ |
igbo-boy:in nigeria i am sure it will help you with residency but in uk it about useless nowadays . like i said if coming to uk you should probably come and focus solely on locum and making money.£100k is easily achieveable here as a locum and does not require much experience to start off.but its not for making a permament life |

this nah fine car |
i have to agree many of the accredited dealers sell are sub standard i was shocked to find out the cerato kia 2009 in nigeria still uses the 1.6l where the rest of the world uses 2.0 or 2.2l as standard and airbags are still not standard on them ,yet the cerato goes for 2.3m which is $15k and thats higher then us prices for base unit. |
tbh for a 2002 a 120,000 is about average your car looks nice but done way a lot of miles .i can offer 1.3m |
me i done email u ooo.if u gree my inlaw can be there this week with cash for hand by friday.or make i go look other ground? |
u can get brand new tear rubber at stallion motors 2.7m for hyundai elentra at exec |
i actually looked into the market for a new tear rubber hyundai elentra and prices i am getting from dealers is about 2.7m for a AT exec. There was a basic model for under 2m but seems not to be around anymore.note this is for 2009 brand new version. |
VIN:JHLPD78873C043836 please help with above vin check .thank you so much ![]() |
fyneguy:By mint i think he means never driven in nigeria before. It is a good car model but this is why after a year in nigeria the prices take a nose dive .Just looking at it the car looks older then its model year from plain nigeria roads . You need to come down more sadly. |
i found this thread by accident and incidentally my brother is in the UK also as a doctor(been here 6 years or so). As someone said progress in the UK is hard but there is a shortage of doctors .However,i would NOT recommend you come to UK unless you plan to locum . A salary doctor makes about £2500-3000 depending on experience take home ofc you might think well thats 750,000 a month but it so costly here that you will never save more then £500 at best and the work is hard depsite the 48 hrs a week work. As a consultant (for the few lucky to get to that level) it is about £70,000 after tax thats about £40,000 which is about £3500-4000 a month . Many nigerians who make it are in fields which has little side practise too aka paedatrics .And with the UK NHS meeting targets now the private sector is dying equally and the country going broke means some side things that gave money is been plugged fast by the government. GP is good money(average is £100,000). However, locum u can make £100,000 if you work hard and take a lot of crap which means u can save and in 5 -6 years set up something nice back home that brings in the money well. As for nigeria ,speaking to some of my friends who are doctors i hear there is a fight to raise consultant pay to 450,000 naira before tax(how much tax is i forgot to ask) but it will probably mean at least 300,000 a month which is certainly better to make in nigeria then the £2500-3000 here because of the cost of living. If you think for instance that a small house will set u back £600(and this is outside london ) u can see what i mean.petrol is £1 a litre .etc etc. Ofc fact is nigeria government might not pay this though |
well problem with nigeria buisness is unless u are importing something large and 1-3 items ,you need to be on the ground. my friend had a trucking buisness which was run to the ground by his friends and family |
pound is about 250 sell as of friday.problem with pound is not the lack of demand as UK is still one of the top destinations for us nigerians its the fact that it is a rollercoaster so the 250 on friday was something like 240 1 day before.very swinging currency as the market watches the equally swinging uk economy |
i have emailed u 1.35m if u are up for it reply my email and i have someone come view it mid week with money full on friday |
hmm i was considering getting a new kia cerato but in all honesty at 2.4m which is £10,000 thats higher then usa prices and most of europe only compareable to uk prices which are normally high anyhow. But things that are sandard such as airags and 2.0l engines are not even avaliable on this model. Out of intrest why is this so.is there a particular car they manufacture only for nigeria with more cost but eliminating the stanard features |
whats the warranty on the kias and do u cover benin city.also do you have the 2009 models because you are selling 1.6l versions and on all sites i have seen the 2009 are having 2.0l or 2.2l as standard |
there is a lot of factors to consider. ofc money is first and foremost.if you have loads of cash you will only buy a new car. however if you have say you had 2m naira as budget then you have a choice of say a 2005 honda accord ,2002 toyota rav4 or a brand new "tear rubber" hyndai elantra. Now comes in the person factor. For my mama i simply did not waste time and got her a kia rio.Same thing if you have a 2m budget as the scenario above then i personally will go with a new car for someone who does not need the stress of mechanics.the warranty and the fact on average you have a few years no trouble at all with a new car is simply unbeatable .also no matter what sellers of used cars say hyndai and kia have made very good and quality standard cars in the last few years. But they also make dull cars. Then comes the other type of person like me who has something more hip and kia is not really hip.it looks so from outside but once inside its just plain dull,so we tend to go for something more hip and worry about the cost of repairs later. To me the resale value is less important in nigeria because a car loses value at least twice mostly 3 times when its used in nigeria.don't believe me go look at threads with used cars and see that a 2006 nigeria used accord will cost u same as a 2003 never used in nigeria accord. The dodgy nigerian roads, mechanics and driving does this. So i never use resale value on a car in nigeria its just pointless. |
you can request from moderator via the thread a autocheck .in all honesty as buyers you are the one to attract us to part with our money and a autocheck link post will certainly attract more intrest .its a hard market out there with thousands of cars to be sold (see some cool looking car threads on this site and others going for months ) with a credit crunch on . If i had to do all the autochecks for all the thousands of cars i seen on this site and others like it then i be taking weeks off work.As i am sure others will.i simply move on to the next car ad with one . so posting a autocheck link will only help you more. by the way cool looking seats lovely! |
agreed with the person above me.i too am in the market for a accord or a suv .but i am shocked to see the last few 2003 models on this site have all been adking for 1.9-2.1m. \condering like the above guy said a 2004 model goes for 1.7m on average outside.last person i contacted said its because he vechile passed autocheck well but then again i can assure u if i go to a car dealer and open my bag with 1.7m for a 2004 he will gladly run to the internet and spent a few dollars(or give it to me) to check his vin too. So really i can't see why people want more then 1.5m for a 2003 model.anyhow email me on xakanrn@yahoo.com if you are ready to deal and pls vin and autocheck the cars i don't feel its a buyer job to do honestly ,you are the one to entice us not the other way round |
2.2m |
autocheck please |
2.5m make i come? |
