AutosRe: Honda Crv 2006 Now N2.4m by liquid7: 6:17am On Oct 10, 2009
as someone who driven a few suv ,the honda cr-v is one of the best for handling (comparing it to rav4 and xterra) and a good car.this has the face look of the last gen cars however the latest factlift was only in 2007 anyhow.
But i would suggest you autocheck the car (something all sellers should do themselves). This helps buyers like me give the car a glance.
For instance i am in the market now for another car like a suv or camry or honda but frankly not living in lagos and only going to lagos a few times a year i really would only be viewing cars with have had their vin number and autochecks done as there is so many options out there.
So autocheck the car and i might be a serious buyer here.

BusinessRe: Banking Sector ! Even Citygroup Admires Nigerian Banks by liquid7: 9:40am On Jan 18, 2009
well back to basics is a good idea however just posting profit does not always mean a bank is a safe investment.
barclays uk is expected to post a profit well ahead of the $8 billion but still cut jobs and shares fell.
look at nigerian bank stocks they took a severe beating even in banks recording huge profits.

i be skeptical about a scheme that you pay first then bring the deposit slip then introduce people before you get your car.Lets face it we can all introduce 9 people who will pay 250k and bring 9 more people(its a big country) but i cannot see them letting a brand new rio for that cash!
BusinessRe: Naira Vs Dollar: The Crash Of A Pampered Currency? by liquid7: 9:28am On Jan 18, 2009
well there more then just the government "fixing" the naira .
Where the government has failed is to make plans beyond oil and banking .2 sectors hugely hit by the credit crunch.
Lets analyse the naira .It is a currency highly dependant on strong oil prices and sadly if jan/feb shows weak oil prices then it is likely to be so at least till next winter.
oil prices traditionally are high in winter as it is more in demand then for heating europe ,NA and other cold countries. At the moment it is sitting $35/36 a barrel which is a poor sign.
People are flying less, switiching from suv to more fuel economical cars, using less heat and the list goes on to save money .
The banking sector has all but collapsed so really nigeria is going to be hit hard by the crisis.
Reason naira enjoyed for a few months to exchange the £ for 170 was because it got to nigeria late.Similarly how the pound exhanged for $2.1 in jan 2008 because the credit crunch did not hit the uk by then.
I think the naira tradtionally traded for about 250 to the £ and thats where it is heading once again to its usual level as the crisis hits nigeria too.
A lot put faith in merill lynch saying nigeria is safest economy but merill prediction in last 1 year has been totally laughable and based on the criteria that getting credit in nigeria is extremely hard but that on the other hand is also a bad thing long term as it is the cause of the current world recession.
A good read on why merill lynch might be wrong is http://www.businessdayonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1886:cost-of-doing-business-and-a-safe-economy&catid=117:news&Itemid=298

BusinessWhen Will We Learn? by liquid7(op): 10:02am On Jan 04, 2009
while oil prices have given nigeria a big knock you got to remember that the dollar has been artifcally raised against all world currencies for the time being .though the naira has taken a beaten against many world currencies too not only the dollar.
i doubt the naira will improve much too soon because xmas is usually the time the naira gains not loses so when xmas is over and the influx of dollars dwindle the naira will slip more.
despite what some here feel nigeria is too dependant on oil sector and as years go by we fail to invest into other sectors properly.
a classic good example is Russia and a good model for all the countries with oil.I think if you look at the production of oil we are now number 7 .All the countries above us have a lower population then nigeria even Russia.
Russia pumps more then 3 times the amount of oil (6.67m barrels to our 2.19m)we do and thats nothing compared to how much they make from gas which basicaly warms most houses in  the whole europe and they also sell to china ,india etc.
They also have a huge industrial base .But rather then sit and spend without thinking ,they have invested into bringing up new industries and buying foriegn companies.
Someone argued that they are using the money to spend on building their military. But if you think about it they are in no real conflict at the moment and the war in georgia ended in a few days after heavily thumping the georgians with their american bought weapons and the final result is as of the end of 2008 russia is now the number one arms dealer in the world overtaking usa for the first time in history which is loads of billions of $$$$$.
Now i am just pointing out the success story of russia not to say we must go build weapons but that in times of high oil prices we should build up our reserves and invest the money wisely in constant electricity, water and good roads and then focus on industries. Not erect numerous new buildings ,raise salaries and new cars.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poland is the fastest growing econony in europe and is a nice place to be, check it out

Joke i am sure i been around europe a lot and like many say i would go with switzerland and then maybe finland.
Poland has NOT got the fastest growing economy in europe and is rather on the poor side of europe thus referred to by many eu citizens as the "poor relations".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(real)_growth_rate .Poland is like 61st behind sri lanka for god sake!https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/pl.html look at the high unemployment there and the gdp per captia is lower then most of the eu
GDP is the main standard of growth and as you can see the top country in europe (azerbaijan is not technically europe so does not count and got far to climb even if top of GDP) is liechtenstein.
However if we are talking in actually on the ground i can see growth and future then its Russia- low population considering its the biggest country in the world, controls and sells most of europe gas and oil ,stable economy and a recent massive boom in production sector. But the downside i found is most foriegners live in moscow or st peterberg and this cities are terribly expensive.I would not really recommend anyone goes there to live but good for buisness .
If i was to pick i say finland- ok economy and very friendly people.
RomanceRe: Would You Marry A Man Nearly 20 Years Your Senior With Many Grown Up Kids? by liquid7(op): 2:18pm On Nov 26, 2008
i seen about 2 women marry men who had grown up kids and one was like 16 years gap other was 22 years.
its a hard decision but some women just need the money due to the harsh conditions they have.
However, most times unless they can push the man to throw a will together ,his other children will probably take it all when he dies and leave her kids to dry.
I think women should really only consider this as a last option .

If she has given it out before then before i marry her she has to give it up.
RomanceRe: UBA Manager Wants Me To Give Her A Child by liquid7: 9:17am On Nov 26, 2008
No offence but it seems to be either the story has some element of lies or the doctor is a bushman.
If her womb is ok for 2.5m you can get artifical inseminated even if its not with the man's sperm they can use someone who is closely related to the husband or even a total stranger who donated his sperm but has a profile check which includes not only looks but good genes like no sickle cell etc rather then pay 2.5m for someone who she knows only by looks .
Also i am sure the husband with prefer to give a doctor that money rather then hear his wife has to go sleep with another man for many nights till it happens.

RomanceRe: Stingy Nigerian Men by liquid7: 9:48am On Nov 25, 2008
ok all this insults are totally out of place .
Personally i ended up marrying a Nigerian woman despite i think compared to most other nationals i met i feel many Nigerian women are very demanding, materalistic and self absorbing.
Mind you there are some good ones there. If you ask any i mean any non Nigerian girl who dated Nigerian men you will see that they are no way stingy but rather our girls seems to think that dating a man = owning his wallet .
So why did i marry a Nigerian girl despite how i feel.
2 good things favour a Nigerian woman over another national .
1)less clingy.A Nigerian woman will give you the freedom to go out and do things.
2)culture similarities.

FamilyRe: What Will You Do, If You Are In The Same Situation? by liquid7: 2:34am On Nov 25, 2008
Even me who has a good job in the UK and really no major issue have already hinted my newly wed wife that we should start planning a move to Naija.
I have started quickly constructing a house there .
Reason is no place like home and really lets face it the UK economy is in big trouble worse then most of europe due to its close relationship with the USA.
If I had to choose between my family and some piece of paper i may or may not get in 5 years with laws changing by the day i will eaily pick my family and go home.
If he can provide you with £350 a month it means he can at least give you a manageable life in Nigeria .
