Grace In Jesus Christ refers to Eternal life - given instead of Death.

Adam didn't have eternal life(grace) through Jesus Christ instead it was through Adam that we all got Death until Jesus Christ then showed up to give those of us who believe in Him Life( grace).

Through the Same Jesus Christ we are given a New Law, the New Covenant promised by God through His prophets.

Should we declare that since we are no longer condemned to die for our sins as a result of the eternal life(grace) we have received from Jesus Christ that there Is then no reason to obey Him, Jesus Christ by way of His teachings and commandments?

Unfortunately that grace(eternal life) can also be spent in the place called Hell for that is where those who refuse to obey Jesus Christ, continuing instead in sin, will spend the grace(eternal life) they received when they were saved from Death by Jesus Christ.

In all the examples I gave, which one came first, the goodness of God or their repentance?

It's still the grace gospel that even when Adam and Eve sinned, God still clothed them.
It's the grace gospel that before the law was given, Joseph knew that adultery was a sin and fled from that lady cos it is recorded there that the Lord was with Him
It's the grace gospel that even before the law was given, Abraham was referred to as a friend of God. That Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.
It's the grace gospel that after God brought the Israelites from Egypt, even after they complained and complained (complaining is sin), God showed them His goodness. The more they complained, the more He provided. But when the law was given, the very first commandment that they must have no other God, they broke it. They created a golden calf.
After the law was given, whenever they complained they died. The complain they did before the law that brought God's goodness, brought death this time around. Why? Cos before the law, God blessed them based on His goodness not theirs.

It's still this gospel of grace that when God commanded the children of Israel to kill an animal and put the blood on their doorposts, that none of the first born sons died. Were they perfect? No! Were they blameless? No! Then why? Cos God is good.

Now let's go to the new testament. It's still this same gospel of grace that when Jesus wanted to heal those who came to Him, did He say "all who didn't shout at their wives, line up here", "all who obeyed all the commandments, line here, I'll answer you guys first", "all who is without sin, I'll answer you guys too, the rest, please keep all my commandments then I'll heal you"? No! The woman with the issue of blood broke the law! She was unclean! According to the law, she wasn't supposed to be out there! But she heard the goodness of Jesus and her faith grew to receive her healing! Was she good? No! She broke the law! What now happened? She depended on the goodness of Jesus!

Let's fast forward to Luke. It's still the same grace that when the rich ruler came to Jesus and boasted in his law keeping that Jesus said "one thing you lack". On the other hand, the short tax collector, in the next chapter, Jesus went to his house. Now did Jesus say "you have been a very bad boy! Do this and do that before you enter my kingdom"? No! Jesus gave him no law and the guy gave almost all he had before Jesus left.

And lastly! The thief at the cross! It's still this same grace gospel that Jesus didn't say "before I remember u in my kingdom, do this and say that or confess all your sins before you die, then I will remember you"! No! And it's this gospel of grace that Peter denied Jesus three times!!! After Jesus said "whoever denies Me before men, I'll deny him before My Father"...and yet, when Jesus rose from the dead, He said "go tell My disciples and Peter"... purposely called out Peter's name. Shouldn't Peter be burning in hell since he denied Jesus? No!

What am I saying in essence? True repentance comes after seeing the goodness of God in your life. When Jesus told Peter to cast his net into the sea and Peter caught so many fish, he said "depart from me I'm a sinful man". Which one came first? Jesus' goodness or Peter's repentance? In all the miracles Jesus did, which one came first? Jesus goodness or their repentance? Do I support sin? No! Am I encouraging sin? No! I'm only saying let the Lord Himself right His laws in people's hearts. The preaching on the Commandments hasn't helped the Christian world till now. Let the grace of God teach people what to do. You can't know Jesus mind. Peter should be in hell when he denied Jesus.

"Humans have a part to play" has caused so many heart aches with people wondering if God is pleased with them. When you have a relationship with Jesus, He'll prompt you through His Spirit in you to do this and do that, or to say this and to say that. DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR DOING! FOCUS ON WHAT JESUS DID AT THE CROSS FOR YOU, AND YOUR DOING WILL FLOW EFFORTLESSLY!

And He also said "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid . He's given you His peace already. The bolded part is your own part. He definitely spoke in Hebrew to His disciples when He said that. And peace in Hebrew is shalom. And shalom means peace, completeness, welfare, health and prosperity. It's an all encompassing word. Acknowledge Him and value His presence. He's your Dad and He's not gonna whoop you! He cares for you. Anytime u feel sad or worried just tell yourself out loud "let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid". Hopefully this helps you.

You said you are depressed. And you know being that way hasn't solved your problem or hasn't given you peace. Can u start by practicing the presence of Jesus? I'm not talking about read 10 chapters of Bible in a day or fast for 100 days or pray for 50 hours. All that is works and they'll wear u out.
Can u just be conscious of Jesus standing beside you? Behave like He's indeed with you? And ready to help you? Talk to Him about any worries you face out loud that's if no one is around you(I'm sure you have a whole lot to talk about). Every Christian has the presence of Jesus but they don't really acknowledge Him. How will this help you get better and how will this bring results? Don't worry about that. Cos even Jesus said DO NOT WORRY. It's not easy trust me but cast your worries in His hands and just acknowledge Him. Thank Him and continuously say out loud that Jesus is with you and you're a successful person and that whatever you do will succeed (No matter how many times you do.)

Now, Jesus Christ, in that statement, found it of importance to mention that only those who obey His teachings are those who have His Spirit living inside of them. So, if you are asking whether the peace of Jesus Christ resides independent of whether one obeys His teachings or not, obviously the answer to that is No.
Flip this around, shall we! According to Jesus Christ, those who reject His teachings are of their father, the devil(John 8 ), and surely you are aware that the peace of Jesus Christ is not meant for the devil and those who belong to Him now, right?

You know what happens when one can't answer a question straightforward? He blabs and goes round and round and try to say the other things and most likely end up saying things not pointing to the initial question

The same response that is pointed to in verse 23 goes on till verse 31. That there is so you understand fully, in context, what Jesus Christ was saying there. You don't just pick a line in a statement and conclude on it, do you?

Yes or no, did Jesus write in that verse that "obey my teachings and I'll leave my peace with you"?

It's obvious she was the one that made you come to talk to me, you're probably her mum that she once spoke about or someone else close to her. And who did Paul say we should depend on? On him or on Jesus? Jesus is all what Paul preached on. You fail, turn to Jesus. You need wisdom, turn to Jesus, everything including righteousness can't be gotten from ourselves but from Jesus. I'm not sitting on Paul's feet, neither is the other lady based on scriptures she posted. Everything is about Jesus. Christians think they can earn His love or blessings, whereas Jesus is a gift to us. We don't deserve Him. So if u still think Paul's "doctrine" is different from Christ's, maybe u should sit at Jesus' feet. Cause no Christian can please God without Jesus. It's not called "Me-tianity" but Christianity. If you actually brought Christ's message, you wouldn't be preaching the gospel that encourages sinners and workers of iniquity to continue in their evil ways with your grace gospel, and hence lay to waste the efforts of Jesus.

You may be of Christ but you're still walking in ignorance of the Truth. If what you preach was what Christ preached the church wouldn't exist up til date. Your gospel cannot produce the kind of church Christ produced because it is of the flesh and profits nothing in Truth, so they wouldn't be able to withstand the onslaught of the enemy like the house built on sand.

So kindly go and learn at Jesus' feet and change your orientation from the what it currently is to that of the Kingdom of God, then you can come back for us to have any sort of fruitful discussion, but for now, there's no point.

His parents were local people to the core and they didn't understand what he was saying, till someone discovered him. God knows where he is now
