DomPerignon: Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed is the combo to watch out for.
Both are G7 alligned to Wike.
Atiku should stop wasting his time in PDP and join his Agulu girlfriend to look for another party to give them joint automatic ticket as President and VP nominees.
Bayelsa PDP is alligned to Makinde because Makinde is married to the daughter of former Governor Dickerson.
Rivers remains Wike.
PDP is about dead in Edo for a very long time and the few remaining there will follow the G7.
Rivers us still PDP and strongly under Wike. If in doubt, why you think the whole PDP rivers is at loggerheads with the betrayer Fubara.
Akwa Ibom is under Akpabio and the PDP there will do what Akpabio wants.
So the money bag states that fund the PDP are not going to support Atiku .
Atiku should start searching for another party before it's too late.
Maybe he should join LP. You didn't mention delta....Bala Mohamed and Wike aren't in same camp, though they are both against atiku but is for different ends that even throws them more apart.....same for his state gov fintiri. PDP or atiku has no strong base in Kano,Lagos and rivers.....Buhari had all 3 to come through in 2015 and 2 to come through 2015,tinubu also has all 3 govs to win the last election. |

Politics › Re: IMF: Property Taxes Can Help Nigeria, Others Develop by Lithiumite: 12:39pm On Nov 13, 2024 |
malali: Collecting revenue without creating complementary jobs.....is akin to a genocide. Where do you expect the citizens to get money to pay the taxes ? Do you know the homeowners will transfer he cost to the tenants ? The unemployment rate in Nigeria is over 50% and getting worse, thats why JAPA is on the rise....So where exactly do you expect people to get this money from ? If you have the resources to own a property, you must have the resources to pay taxes.....Lagos is already charging tenement rates with full compliance and heavens haven't fallen. It's downright irresponsible for people to own properties, some owning several properties and not wanting to pay anything to govt ......there are people who have property they have no use of and it's of no use to the community either or govt, now people would learn to be more responsible with property ownership.....a lot of activities would come up in the real estate market as many would be forced to sell off the properties they can't pay taxes over. |
Politics › Re: IMF: Property Taxes Can Help Nigeria, Others Develop by Lithiumite: 9:23am On Nov 13, 2024 |
malali: I beg to differ. Tenement rates/Taxes cannot e deployed in a country with over 50% unemployment with the workforce all seeking visas to relocate abroad. You will just make matters worse. Nigeria has its own peculiar problems that require peculiar solutions. You cannot keep adopting USA/UK solutions to a country with dissimilar attributes.
95% of people paying property tax in USA/UK have jobs or are on a form of government assistance.
PS:Please leave out tribal connotations from your comments, except you are a bigot. If you would own properties you must be ready to pay taxes on them!! It's simple.....govt needs money and this money won't fall from the sky,we are a poor country as it is. What I reckon with the IMF idea is the domestication of this revenue to the local government level where it can be used for development at that level ....there are heavily built up urban areas that lack basic amenities like roads,,schools and sports facilities, health care, security even public water.....many of these communities are already resulting to some self help initiatives which are never enough to do anything but if this revenue can be pulled to develop them,it is more than a welcome development. |
Politics › Re: IMF: Property Taxes Can Help Nigeria, Others Develop by Lithiumite: 8:43am On Nov 13, 2024 |
malali: The Neo-Colonialists will not stop till every single Nigerian is DEAD.
1-Remove oil subsidy, the country will get better
2-Float the Naira the economy will be perfect
3-Now they are advocating for property tax on every house.
Why did we vote for legislators when fiscal policies are implemented on the directive of IMF and World Bank ? Removal of fuel subsidy and floating the Naira without a legislative debate and agreement by majority constituents in the house of rep and senate.....was an illegal and impeachable act. We know the ndi developers won't like this.....Lagos is already making so much from tenement rates but a state next door like Ogun state isn't making anything from the huge property revenue potential. The good thing about the IMF suggestion on this is about domesticating it at the grassroot where revenues from this can be used to develop the local govts. |

Business › Re: Rewane Projects Stronger Naira In January by Lithiumite: 7:43am On Nov 13, 2024 |
CodeTemplarr: So they dont teach you guys that part in BMC crash courses?
Let me try for you.....
When WB and IMF gives loans for public projects. The projects are expected to take time to be executed. They also need time to get up to speed operationally. That means there has to be some delay of repayment schedule to allow returns from the projects start trickling in before it is done. That grace period is what uncle Yekini and his appointees are spinning as effect of good policies. No. It is actually down to suspended delay in repayment of dollar loans. The govt is using dollars meant for project loans to reduce burden of foreign exchange demands and also grow the forex reserves. In turn, they are using saved subsidy removal in Naira to do projects and cover up the scam from lenders like AfDB IMF and WB. Get it?
It will still go burst. Thank you for your seemingly erudite inferences.however, can you pls list some of this loans and projects so we could have a clear understanding of your posits. |

You are the one getting it twisted The American govt is different from the UN but the UN is nothing without the American govt, same for that islamic organisation and Saudi Arabia. The major players in the middle east are not averse to Israeli operations against hamas and Hezbollah..... Blazetrailer: How does one educate semi literates like you?
The Arab summit of 2022 was held in Algiers. It did not matter who hosted it then. Venue or host do not determine the direction nor the rhetorics of the summit as evidenced by the communiques issued at the end of the summits.
Maybe you should take a bit of some time to read the resolutions of both the 2023 and 2024 Arab summits where all arab nations unequivocally condemned Isreal on their war attrocities in Gaza. Saudi is an Arab country too. They never backed out.
Tinubu going there to lick the Arab's behind could only have been a way to pander to them for more soft loans(Nigeria have written OIC for more loans recently). Otherwise, strategically thinking, there is no way his stupid vituperations against Israel would benefit Nigeria. Resolutions or not,the body language of Saudi a major player in the gulf isn't askance to Israeli attacks on hamas and Hezbollah......Iran and Saudi aren't friends but arch rivals on the region and saudi knows the ayatollah regime is behind them also behind the Yemeni houthis right at their south western border. Hamas is equally a threath to Saudi and even Egypt that's why they have been aloof and rather too aloof I must say on the Palestinian debacle.....what just happened at that summit is nothing more than what it is,mere rhetoric. On the issue of Nigeria joining the OIC,there is absolutely nothing wrong,if there is a Christian socio political bloc available for Nigeria to join, the govt definitely......tinubu needs all the leverage he can get from the international community to aid his hailing economy. |
