Was it govt that came knocking before we start to buy phones? Govt strike a deal with the producer and boom we've it, he can replicate same on CNG

Beside many Nigerians most especially the commerical drivers have no idea about it, so a govt owned the responsibility to educate the people about it
Have you been living under a rock......if you aren't already educated enough about CNG then u are still in the dark ages and how's that govt fault.

CNG is everywhere for who needs it

CNG 230 Naira per litre? grin

Shameless Government
It's not workable and a ploy to drive people into the CNG net.....watch as prices starts to go up once more people buy into the idea..... The escalating price of cooking gas is a ready example.

Why can't you introduce the CNG before removal of subsidy, you just ruined your own govt yourself

No matter how you try to savage the economy, the bad record is there as an inconsiderate president
CNG has always been there for anyone who needed it,were you expecting govt to come knock on your door to hand you a kit?

The narratives here is not completely true. Administration of Go won enjoyed a period of boom and stable oil price regime. Before the second coming of OBJ, Abacha once revealed to Nigerians that the landing cost of refined petrol was 9 naira but motorists will pay 11 naira (2 naira extra) because he was dismantling the highway toll gates. If OBJ implemented a fuel subsidy regime as a stopgap approach to the teething problem of fuel supply it was done in the interest of citizens. What we have today is a situation where NNPCL under the protection of public service/ Cabals use our crude oil to TRADE with Nigerian citizens. ARE FUEL CABALS FACELESShuh?

##Copied
How are the scenarios different......price has always been determined by international markets and the value of our naira has kept on depreciating ever since.

Why should govt pay for fuel you use to drive yourself to your work,to your church,to parties and several other unproductive endeavours we do?
During Gowon and obj era we had functional refineries but that's no more and we have to depend on imports which would automatically balloon fuel prices......who pays for that, many who want this subsidy don't pay any taxes to govt and you expect same govt to be responsible for your oil guzzling appetite......all our industries run on diesel which has been unsubsidized ever since without any furore.

Tinubu and his hoards of errand boys have been running Lagos state as if it's his private estate since 1999 when he dubiously grabbed power. Sycophants claim he built Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria.
Yet whenever it rains it's a tale of woe and unprecedented suffering.
Similarly as former governor of Bornu, Shettima did not do anything to tackle the perennial flood in the area.
Now he's shamelessly wading across the flooded town .
A clear case of two incompetent opportunists running Nigeria to its doom.
What did obi do to tackle erosion control which still persists till this day.....if Anambra were to be located where Lagos is.....it would have been Atlantis by now.

Agreed subsidy must go. But a reasonable and a well ready government would have plans ahead before removing subsidy. A think able government should have done everything possible to put the refineries in order before taking any decisions otherwise. Tinubu wasn't ready for government. He only came to register his name as one time nigeria president and to reverse nigeria backward.
The dangote project is what? A chemist shop!! Refineries that several govts have all failed to put back in shape since abacha.

The issue I am angry with tinubu over is that he should have opened up the borders while going on with his subsidy removal to ameliorate the high food prices the citizens are facing......the subsidy removal and Forex market unification policy were very difficult policies to implement and has very high negative impact directly on the citizens.
The problem is the state govts are doing nothing to cushion the effects of hardship they are doing nothing in agriculture, nothing in providing cheap transport infrastructure to the people such as cng buses and electric vehicles, nothing came of the palliatives that were shared to each state, increase funding in health care and education so people won't have to rely on privates who would also be feeling the economic pains thereby increasing the cost of their services adding more strain on the people's finances.

State govts are also guilty and everything isnt tinubu.

Making a public show by sending the VP to Maduguri make no sense. I repeat he is not doing it because he love the people, He is only doing it for cheap political scores in advance bargained for 2027 votes. Tinubu economic failures has done far worse to Nigerians than the flood in maduguri. People are dieing on daily basic as a result of unthinkable economic. Tinubu is heartless.
What should he have done differently? The VP is from that state and a former gov at that and he has come out to further buttress the harmonious relationship between him and his boss and he has proven his loyalty and also sympathising with the people.

My broda, subsidy removal in pms was never going to be easy on any country don't let anyone deceive you.......no matter how u intend to remove it,there would always be difficulties on the people

One of them argued foolishly with me when I said it was all lies.
Isn't it still cheaper..... you all were shouting how govt was still paying subsidy due to the supposed landing cost of imported petrol as against how much it was been sold at the pumps.....now it's been adjusted upwards to reflect real market dynamics.

Govt has decided to leave the pricing to market forces but same people blaming and accusing govt for still paying subsidy after they already posted otherwise are now crying fuel is ridiculously high .....how more confused can y'all get.

We are keenly observing the chess game being played with the lives of over 200M humans on the altar of utter greed, selfishness, and ego..

* After all previous shenanigans failed to yield the expected result, OVH (Oando) swallowed all NNPCL retail arm...check

* Then came the news that DRL was all set to hit the market with its products, all of a sudden, NNPCL now (OHV) decided to adjust their prices upward to a point where it'd be the end-users go-to at all times seeing how it'd be almost impossible for DRL to sell at that price point and break-even.

Remember not to forget that OVH (NNPCL) has got a blank National cheque to enable them play the game of Thrones with Dangote via an endless subsidy to frustrate him in the market and to also convince and turn Nigerians against Dangote with questions about "why would imported fuel be cheaper than DRL's home-refined one"?

I wished we could all truly understand the kinder and petty games these guys are using our commonwealth and lives to play.

Dangote can never forgive himself for venturing on this refinery project or even siting it in Lagos. But na God wey go catch all others like him catch am because he believed so well in his infinite "Any Government in Power" patronage and waivers.

A more greedy cunning man is in power now and he's willing to see Nigeria razed down and disintegrated in place of seeing anyone else get positioned as the wealthiest and most powerful man in Nigeria aside him and his family. He could even claim to be avenging MKO's deletion.

Is September 2022 more recent than January 2023 when it was just 1month to the election he lost to Tinubu, and he made the below vow to remove subsidy immediately?

The day Nigerians decide that they cannot live without fuel subsidy, Peter Obi who believes in subsidy removal on the 1st day in office would not be their choice, so stop trying to force it.

No consumer would deliberately purchase an expired product that Peter Obi represents.

Unlike Peter Obi, Omoyele Sowore vowed not to remove subsidy, but only about 14,000 Nigerians voted for him, the least of which came from the SouthEast who preferred to vote their tribal brother at almost 100%, so no votes left for any other candidate to score in the SouthEast.

22million Nigerians voted for Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi who all vowed to remove subsidy, instead of Sowore.

Elections do have consequences.
Exactly....no matter who is doing the removal, subsidy eradication in what ever guise was going to be tough on the people ...there is no easy way out to changing a life giver of the people without causing pain.

I am not against paying tax. More tax, more money to loot hence I mentioned the root cause of our problem, corruption. I trust you are reasonable enough to understand my point.
The reason the govt in Germany is responsible is because they depend on the well being of the people to get income to run the country.....but you see here, the govt doesn't need the citizens to run the country and their avaricious lifestyle.

By the time people fully realise they are getting nothing from the govt they will stand up and demand for good governance and fiscal responsibility.

Nigerians buy and repair power transformers and electric poles. Nigerians dig their sewage systems, practically every household provide its water sources. Road constructions are sometimes done by communities and sometimes individuals. You pay the police before you are allowed to report crime. you provide power for your business. And some how, you want Nigerians to pay equal amount of tax Germans pay. How about you advocate for Nigerians to get the benefit accrued to Germans for the tax they pay.
Only a fool would allow his roof fall on him.....do we then allow the entire country go down because of our parochial and corrupt ways.....you can't stop all the country's problems all at once.....its on step at a time.....if this will push people to the wall quick enough so be it.

Forget the epistle.
The combined ineptitude of Buhari and Tinubu is what is responsible for our present predicament.
And Nigerians are being made to pay the price through suffering and hardship.

Because of his selfish emilokan ambition, Tinubu packaged an incompetent Buhari for Nigerians and watched him crumble the Economy for 4years +another 4years, so that he would take his turn to rule.

Unfortunately, the damage Buhari did, is almost beyond repair and not something that can be remedied soon, definitely not by somebody like Tinubu.
How does this negate what reno has said.....counter him with facts or better read comments and move on rather than coming to disgrace yourself.
