emkz: Exactly.
The claim by Nafiu Bala Gombe that his resignation was fraudulently procured is a principal issue.
The claim that David Mar's leadership was illegal is a legal issue.
Dear Atiku, I have repeatedly advised you to avoid certain people. They are still misleading you. Instead of allowing a long-drawn battle, call a peace meeting with Ali Gombe and settle the dispute. Promise to return him as deputy national chairman or even chairman. Convert him to your side. There was no need to foist David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as ADC leaders. They have zero experience in managing political parties. It is too glaring. Recall how Buhari removed Adams Oshiomole and got all party members to remove all cases in court. A year before major elections, a year where party candidates are being chosen, less than three months to choosing candidates, you cannot be dealing with several court cases.
ATIKU, BRING EVERYONE TO A ROUND TABLE AND DEAL WITH THIS MATTER AND PREPARE TO COMPETE IN 2027! There is no garantee that court cases would end in your favour. If ADC falls apart, everyone would know that you failed to solve the problem.
While it is convenient to blame external factors, what exactly are you doing to do your own house cleaning? Same thing i opined earlier, settle with Gombe, give him the chairmanship sef if he wants and negotiate to retain secretary, legal, organising secretary, finance or treasurer......that way you can buy time and find a way to deal with Gombe later..... but all this their grandstanding won't do them any good. |

LibertyRep: It was just a smear campaign against INEC and the person of the Chairman.
The commission couldn't have acted otherwise, they all knew this but just wanted to shift the burden of their incompetencies to others. They keep forgetting amupitan is a professor of law and is no push over in matters of the law. |

LibertyRep: Ok o. Whatever that rocks their boats.
They shouldn't cry blue murder later if the court nullifies the action.
Can't they just persuade, beg , entice and placate the Gombe man to withdraw the case? With the clout of Atiku, Mark etc, they should be able to win him to their side.
This is a perfect opportunity for PO to port to NDC. Delay might be dangerous. Makinde's case never teach them lesson.....nobody is stopping you from not holding your convention. |

ddippset: He resigned and his resignation letter was submitted to INEC.
There is nothing to prove.
In this country today proof means nothing..
Courts are useless, the only judge you should listen to these days is your conscience!
If in your conscience you believe that a man who willingly submitted his resignation and came back 4 months later to say they forged his signature..
If your conscience tells you his is correct, so be it. But same court upheld elections in states won by opposition, apc lost zamfara and rivers to the courts without even casting a single vote despite being the party in power......I guess courts weren't useless then. |

It's just a matter of priorities and empathy Sir. You can't even fake giving a tiny flying phuxk about the people and their pain. Logistical challenges? A Good Government will move mountains to provide succour to the people and use his presence as a show of force to deter such occurrence.
But Alas. Alas. Nah so easy.....you go just open mouth wah, spew trash and believe you have made sense ......how many members of your family have you been able to meet in the past year, how many things dod you set out to do January to December that you were avke to achieve all,how many promises have you made and been able to fulfill all.......presidential movements involve alot of logistics planning, human and material, jos is a hugely volatile place at the moment and any poorly planned visit of such magnitude could cause far more problems and inconvenience for the people of the state. |

Stricker321: But the PDP has cases in court yet INEC recognises the Wike faction and working with them.
There are leadership cases against PDP so why is the ADC being treated differently? Wike and co had to wait for the final court judgement before doing his own convention.....otherwise could have been an exercise in futility. |

Tenses: If that is the case. apc should have allowed ADC go into 2027 election knowing that even if ADC wins the court will nullify it.
Why then is the apc trying to put ADC house together Won't it be worse when after you win an election you are then thrown out because of something you could have resolved pre election.... adc still has a chance....negotiate with bala gombe and give him the chairmanship while aregbe can retain the Secretariat, share the offices.....its not too difficult but no,they are more interested in calling Tinubu’s name like babies calling out to their mother. |

nairalanda1: North can be beaten. Obasanjo showed that in the 2003 election. ...and even in the 2007 election, GEJ built on that to win in 2011. Even 2015, had GEJ won in Benue , he could have snatched victory narrowly..but the Benue election that year was a referendum on PDP governorship, not national leadership.
North is not always one monolith. Even now, NE and NW can massively disagree, the middle belt is its own patchwork of contradictions...and so forth.
Even now, at one point Northern minorites can start asking why one of them can't be the NOrthern candidate, muslim and christian. Obj and gej were and tinubu were able to do it because of elite concensus that power should go south......if the morthern elites didn't care, atiku could have ran against obj even in 03......wasn't wike"s major angst against atiku mainly because of the disregard by him of the convention that power should move south after Buhari’s 8 years evn the apc has already made it clear power will go north in 31......its standard. |

Those who thought it wise to do so were the pdp and the apc followed......if we don't adhere to the principle of rotation, the south will be heavily disadvantaged due to numerical inferiority and more manifest ethnic diversity.......the north will always have an edge,a single household can be upto 30 members as against the south with an average of 4 or 5. |

Politics › Re: Chidi Anselm Odinkalu Reacts To Derecognition Of David Mark Led ADC Exco by Lithiumite: 8:40am On Apr 02 |
Inspiration2017: DEDUCTIONS FROM CHIDI ODINKALU'S STATEMENT ON INEC AND THE ADC CRISIS
---
1. BACKGROUND POWER PLAY
The INEC release on derecognising the David Mark-led ADC executive was not a spontaneous institutional decision. Odinkalu reveals it followed an urgent, high-level meeting involving INEC leadership, the Presidency, the Court of Appeal, and the Federal High Court within a very compressed 60-hour window. This signals that the matter had escalated to the highest levels of Nigeria's executive and judicial establishment before INEC acted.
---
2. THE RESIGNATION LETTER AS A LEVERAGE TOOL
Odinkalu claims, with apparent confidence, that INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan had signed a resignation letter as a precondition for his appointment — effectively meaning he has been governing on borrowed time at the pleasure of those who installed him. The implicit message is that Amupitan did not act freely; he was pressured into issuing the release by powerful principals who invoked that letter as a threat. This fundamentally undermines the credibility and independence of the INEC release.
---
3. INEC OVERSTEPPED ITS MANDATE
Odinkalu argues, pointedly, that it is constitutionally and institutionally improper for INEC to interpret a Court of Appeal judgment. That is the exclusive preserve of the courts. If INEC was uncertain about what the judgment required, good-faith institutional conduct demanded it return to the Court of Appeal for a formal interpretation or clarification — not issue a unilateral press release acting on its own reading of the ruling. INEC's action therefore appears either legally reckless or deliberately opportunistic.
---
4. POLITICAL AND ELECTORAL IMPLICATIONS FOR 2027
Odinkalu frames the ADC crisis not merely as a party dispute but as a democratic stress test ahead of the 2027 elections. His phrase "the country stares down a barrel" suggests he sees the incident as symptomatic of a deeper institutional rot — where independent electoral bodies can be pressured into abandoning their mandate. He implicitly warns that only those willing to either enable, tolerate, or directly challenge this pattern will have real stakes in the 2027 electoral contest.
---
5. A SUBTLE BUT SHARP REBUKE OF AMUPITAN
The closing line — "As for Joash Amupitan....!!" — while deliberately unfinished, carries a heavy insinuation. It conveys a mixture of disappointment, contempt, and resignation about a man who, despite his legal standing as a professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, allowed himself to be used as an institutional instrument by political actors. The ellipsis functions as a verdict in itself.
---
OVERALL THESIS
Odinkalu's reaction paints a picture of a compromised INEC leadership acting under political duress, misreading or deliberately misapplying a court decision to serve the interests of those in power, and in doing so, corroding the institutional integrity that Nigeria desperately needs ahead of 2027. The deeper warning is about the fragility of democratic structures when the individuals heading key institutions are themselves bound by private political obligations. With all this your epistle the long and short of it all is that odinkalu is a member of the ADC so his apparent bias.....if inec has done anything wrong, take them to court. |
