The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed an appeal challenging the judgment of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi Division, which discharged and acquitted Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and his co-defendant, Joachim Hillary, of drug-related charges.

Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa had, on April 15, 2026, upheld a no-case submission filed by the defendants, ruling that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case.

The judge held that the evidence presented by the NDLEA, even at its highest, amounted to mere suspicion, which could not sustain a criminal conviction.

Pretty Mike, owner of Proxy Lagos Night Club in Victoria Island, and Joachim Hillary, the club’s supervisor, were first arraigned on November 5, 2025, before Justice Lewis-Allagoa.

The NDLEA, through its counsel, Buhari Abdullahi, filed a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of illicit drugs and knowingly permitting the use of the nightclub premises for illegal drug activities.

The federal High Court Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of properties on 55,63 and 72 Queens street, alagomeji,yaba Lagos belonging to popular socialite Suleiman Aremu popularly known as barryshine.

The order was given by justice Kakaki after concluding that the said property were proceeds of drug related crimes committed by the accused,the suit number FHC/L/MISC/1344/2025 was brought by NDLEA against the accused was ruled by the judge.

Your electricity sector has lagged far behind the volume the country needs,Nigeria's electricity problem isn't so much about finance but the enabling laws weren't in place to make the space more efficient,with the tinubu electricity act,it's freed up a lot of dead space and you now see different private capital coming in and considerable efforts matched by the sub nationals,the fg alone can't solve that problem.........you people think just throwing money at it would solve it but you are absolutely wrong,obj did $16b,buhari $1.5b WB loan but we are still in distress,what does that tell you........this govt has done the heavy lifting by making the law to enable the full liberalization of the sector,this singular factor is what has held back much needed development in that space as you can now see initial private capital coming in.

Let the reach power themselves,that's not a problem,2k megawats out of the total requirements of Lagos is a good place to start and shortly you would start seeing other initiatives across the state,the law was just reamended this year and we can already see a lot of movement already.
