Interesting how Niaraland (a platform with portential to elevate Nigerians) instead sends the message to young Nigerians that Nigerians are always guilty and the rest of the world always innocent. No national platform anywhere in the world acts as though it's sole purpose is to demonise it's people. I've been online from the start, seen it all, from going on Somaliland forum to fight for African Americans to fighting for Nigerians on UK's Black Net. Fought for Africa Americans on English speaking Latina sites, on rightwing American sites, fought for all blacks on BBC forums, fought for Africa on Carebean sites and on countless world sites and so on. No sight or platform of any nation denigrates her own Nationals, they denigrate others. Only Niaraland or so-called Nigeria platforms does this! I never dreamed I'd return home, I.e. to a site for Nigerians, and find myself fighting for the dignity of Nigerians there. |
Before the introduction of Christianity to Africa, what was equivalent to witchery and sorcery in the lore of primordial cultures around the Niger river in present day Nigeria ? |
The killing and beating of so called witches was possibly introduced to Africa societies by white people through Christianity. |
Condolences. You won't see it now, and you possibly no longer have respect for life and all of life's rubbish games like inflicting pain when we as people as so small and vulnerable most of the time, but you will survive. Just take it one day at a time. |
SugarGirl44:Nigeria and Nigerians s don't need Dubai. If anything, Dubai needs Nigerians and all the tourists it can attract. Nigerians spend heavily there. Take a good look at Dubai, all its massive buildings, its sophisticated highways, lighting etc and ask yourself what it may cost to simply maintain the place, keep it glittering, in the coming decades in addition to new developments. Oil and gas face an uncertain future. Nigeria for her part need to get consulates working harder. Officials need to work with UAE security, police, immigration services to ensure that those in flagrant disregard of the relevant Dubai laws are Nigerians. Determine thire true nationality and so on. |
Nigerians share a number of negatives with "Black People". One of these is a recent development. Absence of pride. Black People have no pride, being niggardly and depraved sorts lacking principles. Black People are uncultured and are as chavs, directionless in the wind. Should Nigeria Officials disgrace even a handful of Arabs, consecutively, in Nigeria for whatsoever reasons, justified or not, and the incident is publicized internationally, Arabs from that nation would boycott going to Nigeria, regardless of what punitive actions their government takes. Nigerians are no obligated to visit Dubai regardless of Nigeria governments ineptitudes or support Black People lend United Arab Emirates in targeting Nigerians. Moreover, individual Nigerians cannot excuse their spinelessness by arguing Dubai is responsible for their livelihoods since Dubai is more the beneficiary of Nigerians largess than the reverse. |

Three Indian nationals arrested in Melbourne over multiple alleged drug importation attempts 13 February 2021 Australian Federal Police; Australian Border Force; Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission Three Indian nationals have been arrested and charged by the AFP in Melbourne in relation to multiple alleged attempts to import border controlled substances into Australia. The AFP-led investigation in partnership with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) – codenamed Operation Goaltender – began on 4 January 2021 when ABF officers detected 40 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in crane counterweights shipped from Mexico. Over the course of the next month the origins and links between multiple consignments seized by the ABF were reviewed and found to contain border controlled substances, including eight kilograms of isopropylbenzylamine (a methamphetamine analogue) and quantities of heroin, cocaine and other drugs from various source countries. The total weight of drugs seized from the multiple shipping consignments is estimated to be in excess of 100 kilograms. On 11 February 2021, the AFP executed search warrants on a residential property the Melbourne suburb of Keilor Park and on an apartment in a high-rise tower on Melbourne’s Southbank. During the course of the search warrants, AFP investigators seized multiple alleged deconstructed drug packages, various packets of methamphetamine weighing over one kilogram in total, approximately $50,000 in cash and numerous mobile phones. The three men, aged 22, 32 and 38, were arrested and remanded in custody. They men faced the Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday (12 February 2021) charged with: Importation of commercial quantities of border controlled drugs contrary to section 307.1(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth); Possessing commercial quantities of unlawfully imported border controlled drugs contrary to section 307.5(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth); and Dealing in proceeds of crime worth $10,000 or more contrary to section 400.6(1) of the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth). AFP Commander Investigations Southern Command Todd Hunter said the operation highlighted the AFP’s commitment to protecting the Australian community from the scourge of drug-inflicted harm. “The first importation attempt began early in the new year of 2021 – proving those who seem to profit from the suffering and addiction of vulnerable Australians don’t take a holiday. Rest assured – neither will the AFP,” Commander Hunter said “We will continue to work tirelessly alongside our partners, as has been demonstrated in this case, to stay one step ahead of organised criminals. It is more important than ever that we seek out and prosecute those who heap the burden of crime on the public.” ABF Port Operations East Acting Commander Brendan Slape says the ABF is committed to keeping drugs off Australia’s streets. “Illicit drugs have a devastating effect on individuals and their families and ABF Officers are committed to protecting the community from these harmful substances,” A/g Commander Slape said. “Criminals are constantly looking for new ways to try to smuggle their drugs in, but our highly-trained officers come across tens-of-thousands of packages a week and they know if something isn’t right.” |
How can society be free when in so called Free societies like Nigeria society is incapable of protecting the most vulnerable? Crudely illustrated, in a free society like Nigeria, those with the loudest mouth out shout those with the weakest voices. On social media, those more capable and with internet access, demonise Nigeria in the name of thire political angst, to the detriment of the powerless poor masses of Nigeria, driving away investments that could provide them jobs. The most psychotic exploit the freedom of Nigeria to blow up places, chase people from thire farms, force people to stay in thire homes, etc. In an underdeveloped state, without functioning checks and balances, Freedom is Dictatorship. So, perhaps, it is best for developing states to sanction Freedom ( i.e. prevent your freedom from overpowering my freedom ) until the state is mature enough to champion and safeguard freedom for all. |
Once, I'd be first criticizing this but Nairaland has thought me just how insidious and intolerant tolerance itself can be. Freedom is for the most powerful and most vocal. |

potent5:I knew this sort of thing would happen, which was why i was against those stupid stuff like Africa Trade Zones, One Africa Passport, One Africa Currency, One Africa this, All Africa that! Nigeria needs to thoroughly intergrade Nigeria first in every way possible - by roads, by rail, by air, by waterways, by trade and industry etc before joining us to these arrogant African nations that have small economies , loud mouths and controlled by the West, Middle East and Asia! |
Death2allNLmod2:The West bare much responsibility for this. The West is like that grandfather who is the paragon of patients and benevolent smiles when the grandchildren are around. He forever admonishes the grandchildren's parents when they discipline the kids. Every second word from his mouth is, 'leave them alone now!' Yet as a parent himself his tools of discipline were the koboko, blade razor and pepper. African citizenry can sometimes act wild, stupid and unruly because they know the West is watching. I saw news of Sierra Leoneans rioting and burning things down. One rioter was shouting at the top of her lungs that they don't have freedom of speech ![]() |
OBTMOS:Humans are like that, not especially Nigerians. Presented with opportunity, humans cut corners or and exploit for shot term gains , which is why development in the West is arguably antihuman for the sake of humans. For example, laid mines on either side of the channel will kill those humans that attempt to dump rubbish in it, serving as a prohibitive warning to other exploitative natured humans, resulting in the channel surviving to do its's job for the benefit of the greater amount of humans. If Nigerians insist on perceiving themselves as especially bad people then why invest in infrastructures that dont take this into consideration ? Why build cities of cardboard for a pyro people ? |
Opintiwa:Portential bribe taker, the secondhandness of America wouldn't stop you rushing there given the chance. |
My father said the drive lasted for about 30 minutes. That was his rough calculation. I don’t know how someone would be blindfolded, in a place that has had records of insecurity, driving for all that long and there were no checkpoints, no police, nothing; just free driving and getting to their destination so safely. No police checkpoints, he reportedly states... |
Opolopoopolonio:Number 4 is a huge one. African women love abroad. Many Western nations are female oriented. Women generally arn't as concerned or motivated by pride issues as men, especially Nigeria men, so African women are able to tolerate what would be for men soul destroying humiliation. African women love the welfare system. They would have no qualms sitting at home jobless receiving welfare benefits such as child allowances. Actually they would happily stay at home shitting out babies after calculating how many babies would earn them the welfare benefit equivalent of top salary. If they are employed, they can tolerate low wages or professions lower than they are qualified for. They are impervious to the injustices of taking orders from individuals, usually whites, much younger and less qualified than them. For reasons mentioned above and more, wives never want to return to Nigeria permanently. Subsequently Nigeria men are liable to stay put abroad for the sake of their nuclear families against thire return home preferences. |
My concern now that we have this implimented, is how we improve the system, create feeder buisneses, invest in several more along the cost if possible and helpful and ensure that this is just the beginning. That we understand maintenance is forever not just short term. By Feeders I mean support systems such as naval schools, electronic shops, components manufacturing, technical collages, service providers, school children tours of such facilities that may inspire some children, community involvement etc. Developments such as these don't survive in isolation, they endure then thrive in echo systems. Since jappanese culture is not enabling the organic evolution of development, we may need to start affecting whole systems. |
Nigeria or ethnic nationalities of Nigeria need to document their foods and any documentable aspects of thire culture. At the very least, culture is increasingly capital. Currently Nigeria is hamoraging culture to Africa. In other words, Africa Nations are adopting Nigeria stuff and passing it off as theres. They don't give credit. |
Onlygrace0:As a "Nigerian" you obviously know about Northern Nigeria. It is commendable the Nigeria government inform Nigerians about parts of the world with which they are largely unfamiliar! And, you know, the rest of the world will not be forever protected by ignorance from Nigerians finding out just how unremarkable and shitty it can be. Eventually the yassh of the world will be exposed to the remotest of Nigerians. |
Nigerians lack heroes - Chimamanda AdichieNigeria has loads of heroes, unfortunately Nigeria is locked in a death spiral of self-recrimination and hate brought about by opposition party politics and activism. The best that can be done for the simplistic statement, is suggest that heroes should be categorised. For instance among National or collective heroes could be counted the following: Political Heroes, Sporting Heroes, Humanitarian Heroes, social heroes etc. When you've done this you begin to see that, informed by history, we are not even short on Political Heroes - politics being the category in Nigeria where most would agree Nigeria is found most wanting. |
Zimbabweans haven't learned yet from West Africa how to save their country shame by claiming they are Nigerians... |
