Sadiqali24: I like your analysis... I just wish people will not vote with emotions but with there head. Back in 2019.. I advice my people not to vote with emotions, in fact, they even label me an infidel. But, there are in a more deepest shit more than myself now. Emotions are temporary, they are the state of the mind per time. This is why people who operate by emotions fall into issues more times than they can count. Logic on the other hand is better, it takes everything into consideration and operates on the best angle possible. My desire to vote PO is based on the fact that I am tired of the system, we need a new man that can change the outlook of things in a new way. I don't care about the religious outlook of the present political space, it is really becoming stupid for my liking. |

Heffalump: Wrong analysis!
If you think Muslims are majority in Nigeria then do some research yourself. Muslim votes in the North will be split between APC and PDP, with the North-central and South voting majorly for LP. This is the reason why Peter Obi will emerge as God's ordained president of Nigeria in 2023. Listen bro! I will vote for PO, but the guy has a reasonable analysis. Tinubu is not relying on the Muslims alone, he is counting on winning his zone, the SW and to carry the Northern areas through religion. The North Central you are calling favours Tinubu more than other candidates and that's where my fear is. Niger, Kwara, Nassarawa and Kogi will go with him and this is a fact unless we keep sensitizing the youths more. He has an equal hand in the North east where Atiku is from through Yobe, Gombe and Borno. I'm not talking about the Northwest were the deep states like Jigawa, Kebbi and Zamfara will vote where they are pushed by their leaders and the leaders are mostly APC for now. Kano, Katsina and Kaduna may favour him more. Now my analysis is this. What we need are people in those zones that can penetrate the youths so they can be logical and vote reality instead of voting by emotions. I have a support group in Rivers state where my polling unit is. The arrangement is to follow up unregistered people to register while others who have registered are being encouraged to collect their PVCs and we are also planning to engage them on the need to vote during the election. No more talks, it is time to act. This is how we can win the system. As for the Muslim-Muslim ticket, I haven't said anything because it is none of my business. My business is to mobilize and vote. I don't need to complain if I never wanted to vote him before. |

I like you to know that the next phase of population control and global dominance is tied to the availability and abundance of food you can produce. Conventional wars are ending, modern and future wars are/will economic, your ability to have enough food supply for your citizens and others will determine how much value you will be accorded and how much control you will have. You did not read the opinions hence why neither did you read the reactions and comments from legal scholars but we should believe your degree and reasoning over theirs. The right thing for who? states rights that led to the civil war and used to condone racism and slavery abi. Don't worry when they are done criminalising out of state travel for the procedure then the reality will dawn on you and you will want to know about states rights. What does the question of who a woman is get to play in here?
I would want to believe that you like to be clueless a rape victim being denied care is a war on who? Drugs right? Formulating laws to arrest women who go out of State and want to have an abortion is a war against goats right? Is it not a gender issue affecting women before or do you want to be tone-deaf? Maybe if you had sat down to read about women's struggles and issues relating to abortions you would not be tone-deaf but call it what it is. Talking about women's issues is a gender war against who mr man? Opinions always defer. So any legal scholar who agrees with the judgment is not in his right senses? Na wa! budaatum: What the Supreme Court did was ingenious. Rather than a small group of unelected individuals like them deciding the ever arising contentious issue of abortions for every American, they have said, "You the People, decide if you want abortions or not", and I just wish I was smart enough to have seen it coming. Now, if people want abortions they just vote candidates who will give it them, and if they don't want abortions they can vote for those who will take it away. How better is there to do democracy than "my body my choice", and "my state", as in one where I have a majority, and "abortions or not"? Don't you see how they have given the people the power to now go and choose? Of course many states will be switching from pro to abort to pro to abort for the next 100 years or so, but any one who wants an abortion can still get on the bus and go wherever they can legally get one, and the constant switching will contribute to economic activity.
As for Clarence Thomas, are you aware that no Supreme Court Judge has been successfully impeached and only one has resigned on the threat of impeachment? I don't think Thomas has the shame to resign, so the wheels on this bus will slowly chug along I'm afraid, since he seems to have friends in high places, but he will not get away from being charged and tried in the court of history, thankfully.
Sorry, I don't see crumble here. What I see is democracy in action, and that does include all the shenanigans involved, but if you want to show me American crumbling, lets talk about their credit card. Nothing to add here, very true and correct. Kudos |

In 2024 It may not even be 2024, this midterm is a litmus test for the Democratic party. I don't think the party has done enough to sweep the election and become the majority party in congress. Go and do a 101 class on statutory interpretation laws are not always explicit they can be implied that too. The back and forth you are going about this issue has one simple answer, the court didn't take away the right of women, rather, it gave an interpretation of what the issue is. This is what the judiciary is for anyway. It is now left for the Democrats to take over congress and fix this once and for all. November is around the corner, this should be a good time for the Democrats to take advantage. |

How can a judgment that brought about clarity over an issue that has been up for debate for a long time now affect judicial credibility? The SC only made everyone aware that elected officials should enact this into law, full stop. The percentage of people who support abortion shouldn't affect the truth in this issue. |

Have you bothered to read the majority opinion in every landmark cases this current Supreme Court wants to overturn? Do you think those justices formulated those laws out of thin air or you just went to one right wing site to swallow BS?
Yes when women's rights are under attack in 2022 we should not be emotional about it.
Give me a break. Who cares about right wing or left wing? I support or align with the Democrats but not foolish enough to not see things differently. The court has no right to make any law but to interpret. You talk about 4th, 9th and 14th amendments, but what you haven't done is to actually point out where the SC went off. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Livelystone01: 2:26am On Jun 25, 2022 |
AmazonTopaz: They did not stop arguing blindly and buying into bad fate arguments that many legal scholars have over time countered. The same court upheld Planned Parenthood v. Casey making it a super precedent. And why would people not be emotional when women who fought for year's to have the rights they have literally are at risk of death and imprisonment for having those rights. I ask you if Griswold is overturned are you telling me that the government has a right to debate the form of birth control I use? When did my liberty and fundamental rights become up for debates for the states or do you not know that Griswold is the precedent for Roe? What part of the 4th, 9th and 14th amendment do you not understand? You are the person arguing blindly but you say I am. You are following the rage and analysis of people in the media, people who are politically aligned to go against anything that doesn't go with what they want even if it is right. I asked you a question, what would you expect from the judiciary (in this case, the supreme court), to make laws or to interpret them? Is the abortion issue on the constitution? How is it now a constitutional right? This should not be emotional please. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by Livelystone01: 2:16am On Jun 25, 2022 |
AmazonTopaz: Yes because there is currently nowhere segregation is criminalised very soon Brown v. Board of education will be left to the states after all it is state's right to decide whether black people can live with white people. Then they will focus on interracial marriages, contraceptives and same-sex unions after all there is nowhere in the constitution these rights were explicitly stated. Since the constitution does not cover this issue let the Supreme Court overturn them. It seems you don't know the 9th amendment,14th amendment and all. Do you see how stupid that argument sounds? How can laws depending on your liberty be delegated state by state are you alien to issues of fundamental human rights? Have you heard about the UDHR?
Since it is a state issue what is the point of having a federal supreme Court why did they rule against New York state yesterday when historically there were no bullets when the second amendment was written? Calm down, relax and see that you are off point on this one. What do you expect from the supreme court to make a law or interpret a law? Sometimes let emotion be removed from certain issues. |

It seems you have no idea what these people just did. Nothing was done, the supreme court did the right thing here. Let's not be emotional here. This same supreme court will support abortion in future if the congress can make it a law. What people should be doing is to elect officials who will make this into law instead of the noises they are encouraging online. |

AmazonTopaz: The good takeaway from this unfortunate decision is that Democrats have learnt from the GQP and are channelling their funds, organising at local and state levels to ensure that Roe/Casey will be codified in the coming months or years.
This is a good sign for November believe me when I say that this issue alone can give democrats big wins. Even the polls before now have not shown a single push of any red wave Tsunami not to talk of Roe being overturned
If Democrats hold congress Clarence Thomas is on his way out fill his seat with a liberal, learn from conservatives and do something about the court that is currently losing it's legitimacy.
Justices Sotomayor, Kagan and Breyer's dissents were the only thing I read and I am glad that Kagan and Sotomayor called the court what it is. Losing it's legitimacy in the eyes of the American people. The only thing that will save Americans is the fact that the young generation of Americans tend to support the policies of the left. November is not looking certain for both parties as we speak. If I'm being honest, I think the Democrats are still a little behind schedule when it comes to taking over the house because the economy is not smiling. People will get over this news in a month, but the economy will always remain because that's what actually affects people directly. I tilt towards the Democrats angles in most cases but they are not really hitting the right nails in the right places to give them a clear majority in this year's midterm. They are also being lazy, depending on media to help them instead of doing some ground word like the Republicans. There's still time though, let's just watch how things will unfold. |

...but what are the noises I'm seeing here? The judgment is clear and simple and not against women or anyone. People shouting on the internet are being mischievous and taking advantage of others inability to be objective enough to see that the court is right on this.
I am pro choice, but let's be honest here. The supreme court did the right thing here, the constitution never covered this issue, they don't actually have the right to bring it in unless congress passes a law that they can interpret to protect abortion.
The court interprets laws, not make them.
This isn't against women but a true interpretation of what is or is not in the constitution, at least for now.
States can have theirs or the majority in congress can work a universal one for the country. |

Beremx: How did Okowa perform in Delta State? Anyway, he’s far better than Emperor Wike the incorrigible tyrant Okowa didn't perform well o. He destroyed most of the tiny gains I enjoyed as a student during the last administration who many, including myself considered as below par when compared with their predecessor, Ibori. Check the list below... The free Neco and Waec for students were canceled, the intracity bus that made transportation to be cheap within the state was terminated, the free antenatal for pregnant women was canceled, the Asaba airport sold (can you imagine that a government airport can be sold without details?), the states's higher institutions have increased tuition fees (the poor will struggle in this respect), and the worst is that he borrows monthly. Between December last year and today, Okowa has collected loans about 4-5 times in billions. If you think I'm against him, just try and do some research before you respond you will understand that I'm saying the truth. If not for my siblings in Delta, going to my own state would have been difficult. Nothing works there anymore. |

Ibime: At the time Zelensky came in in 2019, Russia had already annexed Crimea and occupied 40% of Donbas by proxy, so what diplomacy should he have used to get a thief off his land. From the testimony of all Russia's neighbours like Latvia, Estonia, Georgia etc, Russia is always like this with them. On top of that, they are the ones invading him now. He did what you are supposed to do, when a thief is sitting on your land, he went for protection from the West.
Those lands are not cheap lands, they are the key to Ukraine's economic future, and that's why Russia wants them. The thing is when you spin a story that the West is using Ukraine to get to Russia, most people outside the West will support you because anti-Westernys sells. But in this case, Ukraine is the one being bullied and stolen from.
Those oil and gas reserves there are the 2nd largest in Europe. Ukraine already has the storage and pipeline network and if Putin let them go ahead, they have the potential to eat significantly into Russias dominance of the EU gas market. That's what Putin is fighting for, not all this shalaye story they are telling. Every war is about economics. Now i ask, was there any alternative to how Ukraine should handle the issue in the Dombas region? The region has a Russian speaking majority, they are complaining of being marginalized and there has been war going on there for years because this. What if he had granted regional autonomy like Monaco or arranged some other diplomatic ways to resolve the problem over there? Now, these people cried to their indigenous neighbour or same speaking Russia who responded. They've cried about being marginalized, attacked and other issues for years. A good president would try to bring them to the table, accept concessions for it to work and tell them to accept some concessions too. Now here's my take, these Europeans would prefer Ukraine strike hard, use force against their region of disagreement to take over the region due to what they've found in order for their own economic growth, not because they really love Ukraine. This is business to them, their gains outweigh any nation's economic stability and this is what I an talking about. I have not and will not be anti west or anti America but at least I should ask questions or call out issues when they are wrong. |
