Can we all just drop this hate talk for once. Outside Nigeria, we see ourselves as brothers and friends but inside Nigeria we are at daggers drawn. Please lets pay the dead his last respect. R.I.P Ojukwu. He has done his bit and moved on. Lets move on with our lives without all this hate which is a whirlwind that will not blow us any good. My one cent. |
Vikin:***Still laughing*** But seriously - just a tweak here and there will do. That's the change and not the whole package. |
Nice write up. The problem with the north is very simple if only truth can be told. THE ISLAMIC CLERIC (First) and THE POLITICIANS (Second). Most troubles and riot (both politics and religious) starts after Friday prayers. Why is that? They do whatever their clerics tell them. The Almajiris are the willing tools in their hands. They prefer the unemployed to attend Arabic schools than going to the primary and secondary schools. They encourage them to beg everyday of their life (I don't know if this is in the Koran). Zainab should address their clerics first and let them change their message and teach the northerners to be more accommodating to people of other religion instead of thinking of them as infidels (though not everybody thinks that way). Don't get me wrong here - I know lots of northern guys that are great and well enlightened and educated ( I schooled among them), they also need to do their part. Lastly get the Politicians to change their modus operandi. They are not superior and they should send/force their wards to attend conventional school first and then Arabic school if necessary. They use these Almajiris as their potent army during elections (2011 riots after elections comes to mind). This is all wrong. Nigeria has changed and people have come to know that their number (which they use to win elections) is now a myth. They should learn how to embrace other regions and accept that there are no slaves in Nigeria anymore (never was). |
moroh:Thank you. This is the summary. |
dabrake:Can't stop laughing, seriously |
May there souls rest in peace. This always happen when you have greedy boat owners and drivers who will carry over-load just because of extra coins. The passengers as well, never patient and thinking straight. How can one board a boat when it is very clear that it is overloaded (even if it's a ship) and at that time of the night, gosh. No matter how bad the traffic is, from Agip to Rumuolumeni, it will always be free by 10pm. If they can wait until 9pm, why not be patient for the next hour. People need to put on their thinking cap sometimes. It's a pity. May their souls RIP. |
See who is talking!!!! |
$ugardaddy:I guess it's not everything you know about an Ikwerre man culture then. We learn everyday. Drilling a preg makes baby head strong, now you know one ![]() |
$ugardaddy:A Rivers man culture |
bin gbagbo:Our people believe that when a pregnant woman continues to DRILL, it makes the baby head to be strong, in other words "watering". Its simple, she means " Can you continue to drill her when she is carrying another man's baby". Please don't do it. Its a taboo with dire consequences. |
Nice one Mallam. Congrats. I hope/pray that the enemies of education "BH" don't take you out before you give back what you have to the country. ![]() |
Just reading through some posts here and I pity Nigerians, especially those in NL. This is exactly the position Adamu Ciroma and co wanted us to be not long ago. They threatened to turn this country upside down. . . and now, here we are cursing and abusing and hating everything about 9Ja and the poor President. Right where they want us to be because of their selfish ambitions. We are 160 million fools when we keep arguing and talking down on our country, young democracy and especially the president. Well, I will not fall for that. I am too educated, enlightened and much traveled to fall for this selfish Northern crap. Boko Haram is here and it will die just the way political sharia died. It doesn't matter how long it takes . . . there is always a night for each day. All I stand for is a corruption free country and basic life amenities which this government cannot give me nor any before it and any after it. That's my only pain. I cannot come here and start crying like a baby or defeated fool like a lot here. Hate the president or country if you like, but one thing I know is that CIROMA and CO will be defeated with their BH apologist and the blood of hundred spilled will hunt them for the rest of their God-forsaken life. Their cup will soon be full. |

stagger:Here lies the answer Beaf:If you can remember their names, then they are the ones putting us in this mess. And if care is not taken, they are the ones that don't want the removal. But personally, I don't want the removal "now" because its the poor man that will suffer. Our pple say "when two elephants are fighting, its the grass that suffers". But something has to give. Let the government first fix the refineries and lets fight from there. anything order than that is chaos. |
oops girls corner. Sorry. Leaves through the back door. |
oyb:This is not about GEJ and Fashola. What I hate is double standard. What is wrong is wrong. If you guys cry about anything GEJ does, you must also cry about any Goof Fashola comes with, and don't even give me that ruse about track record ok. I attended University in Nigeria with all the big boys children in the government then. Their parents where either one minister or one governor. There was no difference. Because they had money did not make any difference. In fact they were the more arrogant, spoiled brats that were in cults and what not. Being bad is not about who has money or not. In FUT Mx, we had a good education back then and we didn't spend much. Today I have a job, a family and I am doing ok. Talking about affording education, I remember when OBJ said that education was not for the poor, he received a backlash from everybody in Nigeria especially the Yorubas. They were talking about how Awo helped them with his free education. But today you are changing the story because its Fashola. HE IS WRONG. As I said earlier, "Cheap" education is what the common man can get from the government. So don't even go there. No to subsidy removal and No to unusual increase in tuition fee. |
kalokalo: Akanbi_edu:Gentlemen, if it was GEJ that increased this now, you all will cry BLUE MURDER. Because it's FASHOLA now, its OK. Hypocrites. Just the way we are saying NO to removal of fuel subsidy, we will say NO to this errant nonsense. These small benefits are the only thing the common man gets from our government. If every common man can go to Ghana to school, will Accra enter us? Rubbish. You guys don't realize that there are tons of ordinary people trying to get by. You think its everybody that has money to travel abroad. Because you have the opportunity, nobody will hear something. Nonsense. |
Open thread to post a comment Read through previous comments ![]() sigh and close thread. Nairaland is turning to Tribal-land. Administrators & Moderators need to do something about this ![]() Because we are losing our Nigerianess. |
Big B1:I disagree with you on this one. This is not a military regime where the decision of one man is supreme. In democracy, the elected members of the house make LAWS. Even if Jonathan wants to take them all on, he cannot because the bunch we have there are all corrupt. If they want to impeach him, it will take them just a day. Corruption is so deep in our psychic that it will be too hard to do away. A damage that has been done over the years cannot be undone in six months. What I think we need is to get people of good integrity into the NASS. Gradually if we are lucky that they don't get corrupt eventually, then we will have a good chance to fight against corruption. If good laws are made and they put strong mechanism in place to enforce those laws, then we can start talking. So right now, I don't think any former military man has anything to offer us no matter whatever guise they come with. They put us in this mess. If Buhary and co would have allowed the civilian govt to continue, maybe by now, we would have corrected some mistakes because there is no way the old guys would have continued up until now. Instead they took over because of their greed and brought us back to square one. |
Interesting all the discuss here. Seems like everyone is agreeing on one thing - Power should go back to the real PEOPLE - the ones in the grass root. But what I think is that the other people who run the show will NEVER allow that to happen. And they will be ably supported by the same real PEOPLE that should have the power in the first place. So I don't know who are the real FOOLS here. |
What can I say?>>>>Nigeria is my only HOME. No matter how much I travel, once I get to Nigeria, I feel at home. Its just the bad government and corruption that p1sses me up. |
Lloyd Achi:And some Jigolos as well. looking for Gold? Go to South Africa. |
nagoma:I thought I was the only one thinking that out loud ![]() |
