Hello guys, I was offered admission by Tum. The school portal requires that I accept the admission before the admission letter can be printed . What happens after I have accepted the admission and decided to enroll in another school, because I am aware that after accepting a school's admission you most reject that of every other school. I have been using the admission letter of a different school, which I most likely to enroll in. Just need to know this, don't really mean to bore you tosay
You can enroll in another school even after accepting an admission. In fact some schools ask you not to reject any other offer until you arrive in Germany and enroll at your choice school. If you know that you are only interested in Hesse, and that you can fulfill all their enrolment requirements at the school in Hesse, then you can bone TUM. However if you are still unsure about where you will like to attend or whether you may not fulfil Hesse's requirements, then I suggest that you accept TUM's offer: you won't lose anything by accepting the offer and not enrolling.

The institution is bigger than you and they have made room for candidates that are accepted but do not enroll. It is you that has everything to lose if anything goes wrong at one school and you have no fallback option.

Bottomline: Accept TUM's offer! You have nothing to lose.

Congratulations

Hello guys, I got a message from my bank few minutes ago. It says that all banks have been directed not to accept foreign deposit. I am confused. Does that mean I cannot pay my semester contribution through the bank? Someone who understands this new rule should explain to me.
Brother I don't know this, but I suggest that in any case, go to your bank tomorrow and ask them to be very sure. That in my opinion, is the most certain way of understanding this. All the best

I received the notification from DB yesterday-exactly 4 days after using Union bank for the form A process. So I guess you all who havent received a confirmation should exercise some patience.

House, I used my Karlsruhe admission for the visa interview but I used my Munich admission to process the 8090euros. Will I face any challenges with the visa or there is no problem?

Also, can anyone please explain the issue of changing schools when we arrive at Germany.

Thanks

Thanks I appreciate

Please what is the meaning of 180 credit points?
Bro,

Every semester in European schools, you cover a workload of 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) meaning that in one year (two semesters) you will cover 60 ECTS. So a 180 credit point program simply implies a 3-year degree. Bachelor degrees in Germany are 3 years in length except perhaps for Medicine and some other courses with special training.

I hope my notification of Bsc result is enough for my interview because I don't have my certificate yet. Or do I included nysc discharge certificate
Guy, why are you asking a barrage of questions like you are a beginner. To think that you were at the embassy for your interview last week and you are still asking if your "notification of result" is sufficient! What would you have done if your interview had taken place on July 30th as planned? I saw the notification of result you were holding on July 30th and it clearly states that you have fulfilled the requirements for a BSc and it even included your grade.

So what are you still asking? Prepare all your documents and go for the interview. Take your NYSC discharge along with you as they may want to see it. If you are finally totally confused, then mail the embassy.

Your case has been resolved here severally: allow others the opportunity and space to post their queries

lemme guess you studied physics..... well am thinking of specializing in geophysics also... what course did you study in undergraduate and please what and what was requested for admission and pls what the range of CGPA used as we dey nuture gp so as to no how hard to nuture it...undergoing IT now
Nope. I studied Electrical Engineering. For admission I submitted the usual docs: Motivation letter, TOEFL, Two references, WAEC and JAMB result, University certificate, transcript. These docs are constant for most schools(except some programmes that may not require your motivation letter or your waec and jamb score).

As regards the GPA, since you are on IT, I advice you focus on scoring an A(it's 6 units I guess) and just keep a good record in final year. Many schools have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 or 3.0 (on the German grading scale). If you can get a higher grade then you have more chances. At the end of it all, just keep working hard: hopefully we all will be here on this forum to help you out when the time comes.

You can convert your grade with this: https://www.mspe.ei.tum.de/index.php?id=mspe_grade_converter

Thanks for ur response, i need information about charite university of medicine berlin, i heard they collaborate with free university of berlin and another university in berlin, help me with information Thanks
Sorry I am not privy to any internal info there as I am also here in Nigeria. Just read up on their requirements and try to obtain all and apply. I do know that they have a guide on their website about how to write a strong motivation letter.

Lemme see if I can find it: http://www.molecular-medicine-berlin.com/en/admission/how_to_apply/

The guide is for their masters program though, but perhaps you may begin to navigate from there.

I want to study medicine in germany, Please i need information on how to go with the application processes thanks
Bro, start from www.daad.de/en

Also I know of the medical schools at Berlin (it is called Charite, I guess) and that at LMU Munich. Google these two and start from there. But use DAAD to help you list out the schools.

All the best!

Why did you chose LMU over KIT huh
Just wondering since KIT is one of the TU9 universities.
Bro. I chose LMU because I would like to study Geophysics. At KIT I would be studying Optics and Photonics in the programme known as KSOP. Even though I like the course, I prefer Geophysics, and that's just the reason I chose LMU.

Besides, LMU is also a top school (I noticed they were the most successful university in the Excellence Initiative organised by the German government) wink

Thank u guys for your advice...
My gurus , I'm going to lagos tomorrow so that I can apply for my block account on Wednesday. After then, I will then place my booking for visa maybe that same Wednesday or Thursday. I have my confirmation letter from my school, my passport.Pls guys are my on point or are my missing anything? Pls my gurus, I need ur friendly advice.
Remember to take the two (2) copies of the Deutsche Bank form filled and not signed. And get there very early on Wednesday. When I opened my blocked acct, I arrived the embassy by 9:30, and the popular man at the gate said I was late (even tho the deadline is 11 o clock). When you are given the slip that confirms blocked acct opening, immediately proceed to book your visa: you have no reason to wait till Thursday.

Are you sure about this? 'Cos this is the position I find myself presently...huh
Yes I am bro. I remember Eke40Seven telling me on my interview date that I could have done that. If you are worried about it, then take the two letters and present the one that you are prefer (and not the one you used for booking the interview) and just wait for the VO. That just means you have to learn about two different cities and different courses now.

Truly, there is nothing to worry about: it will not be an issue. You will be interviewed with the docs of the school that you prefer. Trust me

Pls if he book appointment with another admission letter won't he have issues with the embassy, because his Deutsche bank account will be showing maybe Bremen while his new admission letter will be showing maybe Freiburg, I hope there won't be problem with it because school swapping are done without the consent of the embassy in most cases when the student have arrived Germay.
No Rayhut, that is not a problem. I opened my blocked acct with a conditional admission from LMU and I attended the visa interview with an admission from KIT-Karlsruhe (because the final LMU admission came quite late). So it wouldn't hurt.

Another advice to prospective visa interviewees: Even if you booked an appointment with one school, you can still go to the embassy for your interview with the admission letter of another school that you prefer. This will save you the hassle of changing schools when you arrive in Germany (although I learnt that it is not a big deal to change schools upon arrival). The use of admission letter in booking interview date is not to tie you down to one school, but to prove to the embassy that you actually have an admission offer at hand.

Guys, I am please with your sincere comments. I did not missed my appointment in actual sense. The brother who made the comment that is appointment was on the same day with me which is 30.07.2015. You would recall the incident with a particular guy who did not do his photocopies complete before coming. I am that guy. My case is a matter of ill luck and over anxiety, because in real sense I had the copies I needed. For the other guys here. I thought I was not Having my copies complete only the originals and few copies of my documents. Because of this, when it got to my turn, I have informed the visa Officer that my documents copies where not complete. Her response was, she wouldn't accept my application. I pleaded but she didn't listen. Then I resulted to the security to permit me go out to do the copies. I was allowed out but on returning to the embassy the attendant refused letting be in again. This is just the problem with me and when I called the contact line of the embassy. I was told that I have been banned for three weeks. I need your sincere comment just as before. If there is any advise on what to do please let me know
Oh Ogaga, I remember you well now. It was you who guided me on the correct size of the biometric photo as we were proceeding into the embassy. I am so sorry about this case. The advice given by Twinkle and Crowns is valid. You just have to wait: nothing can be done. I can't say that I know how you feel but I am also quite unhappy that it happened to you this way. Let us see what happens by tomorrow. Their response to your mail will help the house know how best to advice you.

Please don't be too sad.

P.S. Is there anything that can be done to check the excesses of those two Igbo men(no tribalism intended) at the embassy gate? I think that they do more harm than good: I saw one of them shouting at an elderly man and his wife, when he could have asked them to leave politely.

I don't know sha. huh

Kudos to U all in this forum for the good job.....

Please I have a situation... I applied for master program at Tum munich, since May, but they are yet to decide on my application. I just discovered that it's always advised for applicants to start the visa earlier. They say it takes like 3 months from opening of block account to visa issuance. The winter semester resumes October 1st. Do u think I can still make it pending when the admission letter will out?
Secondly, having noticed the short time, I applied for german language course in Germany, with the intention of differing my admission to summer, cuz the school allows that. With the language school, I will be able to adapt easily. Do u think it's d right thing to do? Even with The intention of german school, I will still apply for a student visa. I believe with the masters application confirmation mail + invitation letter from the language school in Berlin, I will be issued a student visa. Whats your take guys?
Bro,

There is something known as a student applicant visa: it is for people who have applied for admission but are awaiting the offer and have a letter from the school that their admission is being processed. Someone on this group going to Hamburg used such a letter to book for the visa. If you can get hold of any such doc, then you can open the blocked acct and book immediately. Blocked acct takes about a month to open( I got mine in 17 days) and you can book for a visa even on the day you go to open the blocked acct.

TU Munich as far as I know have an online enrollment, so you don't have to be physically present when the semester resumes. This is an advantage for you as there are hardly any student visa slots currently at the embassy like some people mentioned in their experience.

As for a language visa, all the stories I have heard are of people who had their visa application rejected. The embassy will inform them that there are a couple of language schools in Nigeria and hence it isn't cost-efficient to come and learn German in Germany.

Is your MSc in German? If it is and you don't have the necessary Goethe certificate, then your application will be rejected.

In summary, apply for the student applicant visa and see what happens. If you get a date that is too late for resumption at Munich, then simply defer to summer semester. One thing is sure: By this time next year, you will be in Munich smiling smiley . I'm also going to Munich (LMU though).

Hello guys, I need a lot of advice, I have been banned by the German embassy from making an appointment for my student visa application because I did not present in the day of my appointment. Which was the 30th of july. My course enrollment is 21 of september. I don't know what to do. The ban is for three weeks and from my calculation it will expire on the 20th. I have deposited my cash for financial mean in the duetschebank. I need you candid advice on whether I can still get a visa and on time for my enrollment. If I book and appointment after the ban. I would like to know when I might likely get an appointment.
Hello. From the recent trends on this thread, those people that have booked for an interview in the past two weeks have had a delay in receiving interview dates due to the fact that there are no available appointments. A person mentioned here that on some particular dates in August extra VOs will be deployed to the embassy just to handle the large crowd. So I guess we really can't say how soon your appointment may be after booking.

I'm unhappy to hear that you missed your appointment, but I am also a bit angry at you for doing so. These appointments are highly sought after, and so should be treated preciously. My appointment was also on the 30th and I had arrived the embassy by 5am: some other people were there by 6 and we all were coming from different distant locations(I was planning to sleep at the embassy after discussing with some of the hustlers around there, but an uncle then took it up to ensure that I will be there early). Anyways, I don't know your reasons for not showing up, and I am sorry about that.

I advice that you wait for the ban to be lifted and book immediately after (that is the only choice you have with the embassy at the moment). Is 21st September the final enrolment date for your uni? If not, can you ask for an extension? Can you enrol for the summer semester? I hope it all works out well.
