Family / Re: How To Make A Marriage Spicy? by Loads: 3:06pm On Sep 05, 2007
A MUST READ FOR ALL MARRIED COUPLES AND AN EYE- OPENER FOR THE YET to…

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner,
I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell
you. She sat down and ate quietly.
Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly I
didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her
know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised
the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she
asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This
made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and
shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we
didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she
wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage.
But I could h ardly give her a satisfactory answer; she
had lost my heart to a lovely girl called Dew. I
did'nt love her anymore.I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce
agreement which stated that she could own our house,
our car, and 30% stake of my company.
She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The
woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had
become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time,
resources and energy but I could not take back what I
had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried
loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected
to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release.
The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several
weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her
writing something at the table. I did'nt have supper
but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast
because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.
When I woke up, she was still there at the table
writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was
asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions:
she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's
notice before the divorce. She requested that in that
one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as
possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his
exams in a months time and she did'nt want to disrupt
him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more,
she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out
bridal room on our wedding day.
She requested that everyday for the month's duration I
carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever
morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to
make our last days together bearable I accepted her
odd request.

I told Dew ab out my wife s divorce conditions. She
laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter
what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce,
she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my
divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I
carried her out on the first day, we both appeared
clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding
mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of
pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to
the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my
arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell
our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat
upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to
wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily.
She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of
her blouse. I realized that I hadn’t looked at this
woman carefully for a long time. I realised she was
not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her
face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its
toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done
to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a
sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who
had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth
and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy
was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It
became easier to carry her as the month slipped by.
Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried
on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable
one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown
bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so
thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more
easily.
Suddenly it hit me. She had buried so much pain and
bitter ness in her heart.
Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time
to carry mum out. To him, seeing his father carrying
his mother out had become an essential part of his
life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and
hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I
was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute.
I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom,
through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand
surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her
body tightly, it was just like our wedding day.
But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last
day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a
step. Our son had gone to school.
I held her tightly and said, I had'nt noticed that our
life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office, jumped out of the car swiftly
without locking the door. I was afra id any delay would
make me change my mind, I walked upstairs. Dew
opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do
not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished. Then touched my
forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her
hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said, I won't
divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because
she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not
because we didn't love each other any more. Now I
realise that since I carried her into my home on our
wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do
us apart. Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me
a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into
tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of
flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to
write on the card. I smiled and
wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do< BR>us apart.
The small details of your lives are what really matter
in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car,
property , the money in the bank, blah, blah, blah.
These create an environment conducive for happiness
but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time
to be your spouse's friend and do those little things
for each other that
build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you,
but if you do, you
just might save a marriage.

Business / Re: Make Huge Bucks In The Oil Business But Be Prepared! by Loads: 9:11am On May 28, 2007
Bad business Idea, You will do well buying and selling immediately to make a reasonable Godly profit. You will make more money during that time than waiting. For example a truck of diesel or gas can be sold off in less than two weeks and you can make about 100% profit. If you have a good location you can even sell it faster. Its not nice preying on the innocent public and praying for scarcity just because you want to earn profit. Scarcity affect everybody even you, transportation goes up, food prices goes up, services goes up. Everyone is a loser in fuel scarcity even the people selling high, their families will be affected as well.
You will be amazed how much you can make by buying and selling. Good luck

6 people owning a business is not too much but 6 people controling a business is too much. I have a business in which i own with 4 of my friends one of the first things we did was sharing responsibilities and appointing a CEO that makes all the day to day decisions and any major decision will go to the board. They need to diffrentiate their friendship from the business as the two should not mix.

Gists,
All companies do a private placement before IPO but the only thing is the minimum number of shares is usually a lot. I was not aware when transcorp was N3 but I was able to buy it when it was N6. I bought the minimum which was hmmmn I really cant remember but I think I got 200,000. I hope to get to a stage where by I can get PPs only or first IPO.

Dolly,
its not everybody that has the natural entreprenuer skills of the people you mentioned. Some people will read books and still do nothing at the same time you will show some people and they still do nothing. It upto you to decide when your financial education is ok for you to start. You have to keep educating yourself constantly to keep up with the world. As long as peole keep buying his book new ones will continue to show up. Believe me sis I played the game and I also PLAY THE GAME real life. People that know me will tell you. I play a real life monpoly game BIG TIME. To me business is just a game, its that simple.
Every business man has someone that inspires him, speak to Mr Branson, Mr Gates they will tell you who their mentor is. Anyway Dolly everyone has a right to their opinion, that is your and I respect it.

Chionyins,
I attended his seminar in London not US. The cost of that seminar alone as earned me thousands in my daily dealings.

Dolly,

The issue with me is not tha fact that he is real or not. I leanrt a great deal from him. Its not every one that have a mother or parents like yours that will teach then financial knowledge. I learnt on my own and Kiyosaki was one of my greatest educators.

You are right, some of his books are repetitive but don't forget he also wants to sell books. He is a business man thats all. He will not hold your hands, you will make your decissions on your own.

Trust me not many people can give a lecture like Kiyosaki. I have been to tons and tons of lectures and seminars there is a great difference with being lectured by a lecturer (someone that does not practice what they preach) and being lecturered by a doer. A great difference.

Have you played his games? Its very educative, very good indeed.
Business / Re: Robert Kiyosaki: His 'Rich Dad' Does 'Not Exist'? by Loads: 9:30am On Apr 24, 2007
He is definately real. In America of today you can't get away with that sort of lie. He didn't make his money form books you know. That guy is just seeking attention it happens in US all that time. I went to one of his seminars about 4 yrs ago (cost me £500) and was worth evey penny I paid. This guy speaks with passion and you can physically feel the energy transfering to you when you listen to him. He is an admiration a modern day educationist. I for one have gained a lot from him real or fake (it don matter to me). If that guy continues calling him fake he could be sued for libel.

Of course most of rich Dad's education was not invented by him but he has written it in his own word to make any tom, dick and harry understand it. Rich Dad must have learnt it from somewhere for him to pass it to Mike and Robert.

Financial education is the most important part of education (but know one teaches us the conventional way). This guy is trying and if I know him well he will continue to try.

SavvyLanre:

I had a similar intention in mind - Now, most of the previous thread is talking about home. What about abroad, europe, US and Canada?

Identifying a 419 Culprit
My opinion is if you have a neighbour, or know of someone that
1) has no job,
2) no concrete business and
3) you see him driving big cars and
4) dressing up in lavish designers wears and
5) spending money as if he plucked it off the tree at the back of his yard,
6) You see different sizes of parcels arriving every day
7) Catch him looking through other peoples mails
cool and many other stuff shown here in America on ABC, Oprah show, 20-20

We should report them to the authorities, and give them sufficient evidence to follow up.

Another idea is posting pictures of them online in their big lifestyle - and seek an explanation of their unknown wealth - some might be legit, but if you are clean - chances are you have noting to hide. Right?

My 2 cents on this topic

You might be disappointed with your technic of identifing 419. Nowadays lots and lots of people make lots of legitimate money on the internet from home full time or just been a succesful investor. Point 7 is the only one I agree with. Most of the time you neighbour will not even know what you are into. I have friends doing ebay fulltime, forex, day trading etc. You don't see them going to work like everyone else and they drive flasy car with legitimate money. Becareful in your identifing process THIS IS THE INFORMATION AGE you can be a £ millionaire by sitting in your room. RNB ringtone Nigerian guy in London made his first £million in front of his computer at home. Your method might end up harrassing lots of innocent businessmen/women working from home.

Report the broker to SEC immediately and talk to your lawyer with a possiblity of suing them if they don't settle. It happenned to someone close to me and they got their money back from the broker times two before the court date. They also received a big caution from the SEC's office, their license almost got revoked. They are now on the watch list, any more complain they willbe gone.

I want to believe that most people here are smart enough to know that not everything you read in newspapers are true. The business of the newspaper is to sell, sell, sell and they will achieve that in any way share of form they desire. The news report below contradict the one reported by a national daily.

Press Release: TransCorp Clarifies Relationship with BT Over NITEL / M-TEL

LAGOS, Nigeria – April 10, 2007:

Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (TransCorp) has clarified the issues surrounding its technical services agreement with British Telecoms (BT) in respect of the management of Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) and Mobile Telecommunications Limited (M-TEL).

Transcorp confirmed that the first stage of its management services agreement with BT had been concluded. That stage basically covered the diagnostics and evaluation of the state of affairs in NITEL and M-TEL.

However, both BT and Transcorp are still in negotiations regarding a long-term agreement. Transcorp is also pursuing opportunities to bring in potential strategic investors into NITEL and M-TEL.

The Transcorp spokesperson, Adedayo Ojo, reiterated that “Transcorp is in the final stages of negotiations with strategic investors and we will issue detailed information as soon as those are completed and the appropriate regulatory approvals are in place.”

Regarding the subscription level for its recently concluded Initial Public Offering,(IPO), Transcorp explained that there was no basis to speculate that an IPO that has recorded more than two hundred and fifty thousand subscribers (by far the highest number recorded by any company IPO in Nigeria) was grossly undersubscribed as reported in a National Daily. According to the Mr. Ojo, the Registrars were still compiling the returns which will need to be approved by the Board of Transcorp and the Securities and Exchange Commission, (SEC) before the subscription level can be determined and announced.

In another vein, Transcorp also confirmed that BT secondee and Managing Director of M-TEL, Mr. John Weir, has not been relieved of his post by the Board of M-TEL as erroneously reported by a Nigerian Daily.
