I find ieltsonlinetest.com questions more difficult than Cambridge test undecided
I keep getting a band 6 in listening and reading cry cry

I strongly advice against using any material not by Cambridge for practice. They are either too easy or too hard compared to the original IELTS test. Stick to Cambridge official materials :-)

It does, I checked last month and noticed they have brought back the rule. They might change it after the crisis, since there still seems to be a shortage ...

Hows the city and university. Are there part time jobs? Are things cheap? Will just like a view of what you think of the place. Thanks.

Brookes is a good university generally, Oxford is a small historic town, it's very multicultural (which I love about it). Yes, there are lots of part-time job opportunities which is one good thing about it. No, it's not cheap, it's expensive, as expensive as London. That reminds me, its close to London, 90 minutes by coach and definitely faster if you go by rail.

Apart from the cost of living, its a really nice place to live.

Guys please, please I'm in a dilemma.

So far I got the following offers but can't decide on which to accept.

1. University of East Anglia, good ranking(top 20ish), gave £4000 fee reduction, but I don't like their course modules. Course not accredited

2. University of Greenwich, decent ranking(top 60ish), no fee reduction yet, love the course modules + course is accredited by a professional body

3. University of Hertfordshire, decent ranking(top 70ish), no fee reduction yet, love the course modules + offer placement. Course not accredited.

Please who has good ideas of these universities should help me decide. Thanks

I do not know about much about these universities about from their times ranking.

I think your objectives should guide you the most, do you plan to stay back, what are your chances of getting a job that will sponsor you after completing your degree in the Uni you're about choosing. Professional accreditation might be important. What course and is it the same for all uni? Getting a placement is very competitive, but if you get one (especially in a tier 2 sponsoring company) it's a very good plus and opportunity to ...
These are my thoughts or how ill think about it

You might also want to consider the locations of the uni and the cost of living... u might prefer to be in an area with people of different ethnicity like me.

Which area is better to study
Teeside, Bournemouth,or south Wales
Which of the fields would boom Programme Project Management or Project management or psychology

I do not know about psychology or project management in general, but since there is a demand for people with IT skills, project management in IT could be a good option. U might want to check indeed UK for the volume of job listings on areas of interest. Also, check the UK shortage list.

Hi Guys,

Please, what's the latest on the choice of ECA bodies in terms of speed and general service? It seems apart from those who require specific ECA bodies, most people are going with WES of recent. Please, those who have evaluated recently, am I safe to go with WES or is there a better alternative? (My degree does not require a unique evaluation body)
Thanks

Thanks for your kind words.
Not necessarily a different course rather higher level of degree in order to avoid being refused TRV based on purpose of visit. This can be well tackled with a well drafted SOP stating convincing reasons for going to such level of degree. But my case is different because I've passed through the hurdles of obtaining TRV.

I'm after my career growth than the country. My sole aim of going to Canada is to study, research and advance my career which UK will offer better.

That's great! I envy you. You get the best of both worlds .... I wish you the very best. I don't mind if you send me a link to scholarship programme please :-)

Thanks for your concern. How about going to Canada after my studies in the UK? That's why I said Canada is not running anywhere; planning to defer my admission at my school in Canada by one year after the issuance of my UK Visa. I totally agree with your view points which I understood perfectly.

Congratulations on your scholarship.
Sounds like a good idea a lot of people come to Uk just to crossover. But i think the program you would go for in Canada afterwards, should be a different course or at a higher level than the one in the Uk. To be frank i may want to go to canada straight to minimize the risk of HAVING TO GO BACK TO NAIJ. But the scholarship offer hmmm. Just think about it very well.

Yes you can. Just explain to them. They know this things, and they would advise you accordingly

Good points logophilia.

Funny enough Uk interview questions are so predictable and repetitive. They asked my cousin questions about accommodation, transport and post code as far back as 2014 (I think that was the year they started interviewing students).

I remember doing a mock interview on the phone for him way back then. It is well.

Yh, you are right. it is well.

Hi @justwise thanks for your help on this forum...I intend to study for a masters at university of Sunderland by september....I took the tb test and for some reason i cant even place put my sister's address as my Uk address instead of my intended school...would that be a problem??if yes?please how can I resolve this...Also i've worked for bout 4years after graduation ....Nysc and internship inclusive....do i need to submit employment letters at my interview and can 4 years be termed as a long gap....

According to OlowoB:
Someone already told you how to rectify the mistake. I understand you could be panicking cos this is your first time but you honestly have nothing to worry about.

If I were in your shoes, I would not change it IF (1) my sister stays in London legally (2) I would be arriving Uk at least a week before my program starts. If these conditions are met, see my answer below.

Interviewer; where would you stay while schooling?

Me: I would stay in London with my sister for the weekend I arrive England while I view houses I already looked up online in Sunderland. I should get my own apartment within 3 days of arriving England. Let the interviewer know you have seen some online but you want to inspect them physically before you make payment. Emphasis on staying for a while and would get your apartment soon.

There is no right or wrong answer for most questions asked by the interviewer.... all you need to do is give a good reason for your answer.

In addition to the above i would suggest you get an accomodation if possible or get a license to occupy ( my school gave me this without paying anything) it was very instrumental to my interview, Because they will always ask you about your accommodation plans and it is more convincing and promising to tell them you already have an accomodation. Mine was so bad that they asked for the post code and cost of my accomodation how far it is or how many mins to my school, and how much it would cost to transport ( i am not saying these to scare but it is better to be well prepared). So ur narration can go as: i would be arriving at my sister place and then moving to my accomodation at ....

i would advise to put your Work reference, even my school required this in my application. NB it is not absolutely necessary as it is not a document stated on the CAS. But advisable if you are riskier applicant because it would show evidence that you don't have a study gap, and you're not idle in your home country. if you earn a decent salary also include this in the employment/reference letter.

pardon any errors and poor structure, was rushing ...
