WebmastersRe: How Can I Start A Bulk Sms Business Without Using This Nigeria Reseller Things. by lojik(m): 6:10pm On Jul 23, 2012
@Shadowblaqq, Thanks for pointing out my website. However, the site for the SMS portal Creator software is www.smsportalcreator.com . www.lekeojikutu.com is my personal website.

Whether you buy from abroad or you buy from Nigeria, u are still a reseller except you have your portal before you buy.
If you buy from routesms or infobip or most foreign providers and they give you your portal, you are still tied to them. When you are dissatisfied with their services, you cannot move your clients away from them. You are stuck to them forever whether you like it or not..

You want to be free, get your own portal yourself and buy from anywhere. If you are dissatisfied, you can change where you are buying from without loosing your clients or spending extra costs on development.

You can develop your own portal or pay someone a token to develop it for you but you will most likely need my SMS Portal Creeator Software which you can find at www.smsportalcreator.com .

Please be careful with foreign providers. We paid a provider about N1M at a time and they refused to give us SMS because they claimed their SMS prices have gone up after we paid. Our lawyer had to involve their embassy before we got our money back.

Wish you the best.

ProgrammingRe: Nairaland Programmer Please Share Your Most Challenging Project So Far by lojik(m): 12:25am On Jun 18, 2012
My most challenging project so far is www.voguepay.com .
Having gathered knowledge from so many projects i had developed including Government databases, successful commercial applications and ERPs for private businesses, I thought I would find it easy building a payment gateway from ground up with strong security in mind.
It is the most challenging project i have ever worked on. I had to study so many popular frameworks to understand where the security strengths and weaknesses lie.

The first challenge was selecting a team. I had to develop a framework from scratch and Nigerian programmers that i interviewed had not even heard of yii framework talk-less of codeigniter, cakephp or Zend.

Overall, it took over a year to launch (It will never be finished) and its really paying off. The acceptance has been overwhelming the Alexa rating has gone from 1.8Million+ to 100k+ in less than a month.
ProgrammingRe: Are You A Real Programmer? Can You Code With Notepad? by lojik(m): 12:02am On Jun 18, 2012
Although i use notepad++, i see it as a personal thing and not a standard. U sound really confused or inexperienced or both.
When did the IDE become more important than the result? or more important than extensibility, security, cross-compatibility, user friendliness, footprint, resource management....?

Note that all Notepad Programmer can use any IDEs to write comprehensive program but not all IDEs programmer can use Notepad to write same.
Guy, get a language reference or cheat-sheet.

How can your yardstick be the IDE being used? No mention of frameworks, architectures, pattern e.t.c?

the real professional programmer is someone who can write, build program and software using NOTEPAD
I laff in Java.

Wow. Good to see someone has already posted our payment solution here.
Just looking through The sites linking into voguepay.com on alexa ( http://www.alexa.com/site/linksin;0/voguepay.com ) and found this link on page 1.

@ojochidem,
Thanks for the post. That was nice of you. I have a feeling you are someone i know.

@dual core,
Dual Core: Disappointing to see everybody coming up with variations of the exact same thing.
Come up with a payment gateway that will accept phone recharge cards and I will consider it seriously.
We are not implementing variations of the exact same thing that exists. You need to see our features before you judge us sir.
We will be releasing more features in the coming weeks. I can't say much here because this is not an official thread for voguepay but mobile payment will be one of them. Voguepay was just launched 3 days ago. Wait a while before you conclude.
meanwhile, as per your recharge card thingy, nothing is impossible. Na naija we all dey.

@yamakuza
Yes. Afrisoft is related to lojik but Afrisoft is not just Lojik. She's more than Lojik.

As usual, NL peeps go wan tear me apart. I don tell una say no be official thread be this, Voguepay has support systems and also a facebook page if you have questions. www.facebook.com/voguepay

Web MarketRe: How To Get Bulk SMS Gateway by lojik(m): 2:59pm On Mar 31, 2012
You can buy the software and choose where you would prefer to buy SMS from.
You can have your own API and have as many resellers as you want.

At present, over 1,500 websites use our software to power their SMS websites (The list is available at our Agege office).

Get the software from www.smsportalcreator.com and we will make local and international API recommendations that you can connect to.

ProgrammingRe: Why Nigerian Start-ups Fails: by lojik(m): 12:11am On Mar 01, 2012
@manmustwac: I strongly disagree with you.

The problem with Nigeria startups is not about want or need  itself but the visionaries/business owners. A web startup is a business and has to obey business rules which Most 9ja enterpreneurs find hard to adhere to.

It all comes down to the leader, the vision, the plan, the team, e.t.c. It affects non-web businesses just as it affects web businesses too.
I am a venture capitalist and know a few others  who would fund a good web idea up to 7 digits. I have also had a VC  fund one of my startups with 7 digits and has so far made 6 times his money back (still making it). There are VCs and angel investors if you look in the right place.

Behind most Nigerian startups, the owners are either so lazy or lack business intelligence. I have never seen eyowo.com advert anywhere other than nairaland whereas c.ash.env.0y  has painted the whole of Lagos and the net with their adverts. The results speak so loud.

Lastly, so many Nigerians use facebook. Is it a "Want" or a "Need"?

ProgrammingRe: Any Software Product From "nairaland Programmers"? by lojik(m): 1:16am On Feb 20, 2012
Number_One:
@lojik, why are you complaining about the Eyowo thread. All the comments I saw there were honest. Security and Trust concerns? What is wrong with that? If you expect to post a new software and everyone is kissing your butt about it then you should go to the romance section.
I didn't say they were dishonest. Afterall, if you post facebook timeline feature or Google wallet or pinterest here, you would get "honest" opinions that would discourage would be members who do not have an opinion yet.

Its easier for a software company to either invest in (software and pen testing) and (gather feedback on its own platforms) than to gather "honest" opinions from Nairalanders who would score cheap points with your sweat and labour.

It is bad PR to give official responses to the kind of aggressive negative opinions you get on a public forum. Let your criticisms and feature requests be submitted as wishlists, bugs, support tickets or live chats.

@dhtml: I laff in Itsekiri
@Fayimora: The guy did not come here for grilling, he came for marketing. If they had wanted to help, they would have posted the discovered issues on his bug or wishlist page. I checked a few weeks ago, and the guy has still not put a lot of the issues right. I guess they "killed his morale" and he might have given up.
ProgrammingRe: Any Software Product From "nairaland Programmers"? by lojik(m): 7:57pm On Feb 15, 2012
If you finish your software and your primary marketing strategy is to start a thread for it on Nairaland, abeg think twice.
I've seen a lot of projects posted here and get the bashing of their life.

A critical example is eyowo.com payment platform. After it was carefully torn apart on nairaland, i decided never to go near it. Nairalanders brought out lots of flaws out of it which made me conclude the project was not properly baked.

I believe a lot of people know better than to post their projects on NL where members are very very aggressive.
