How can you compare someone who benefited immensely from Abacha's dictatorship to someone who fought against it with everything he had including his liberty
How can you be so stupid to celebrate someone who said Abacha never stole over someone who masterminded the processes of returning Abacha loots which we are all enjoying today
How can you prefer someone who truncated our democracy and defends the most evil Abacha govt till this day to someone who has always been at the forefront of democracy Nigeria, even relinquish power when he didn't have to

deboysben: Is anyone in Nigeria closely following what is going on in Venezuela?
And if you are following, what does it tell you?
Ok. Let me give you an inkling of what will likely happen in Nigeria if Buhari and APC rig the 2019 election.
You have read the statements put out by the United States and the United Kingdom earlier on Thursday the 24th of January where both countries specifically warned against the rigging of the election and promised visa sanctions and even international prosecution for those who will be caught or indicted in the rigging of the election. Those who don't know or those who are so blind that they can't see, think that the statements by those countries are empty boasts. Let anyone in INEC, the security agencies and in the federal or state governments even try to rig this election and see. The international observers are coming in huge numbers more than ever before after reading the reports of the shame and sham in Osun State. The word has spread round and they are coming with a large delegation to observe the elections.
It's such a shame that the perceived gains of our electoral advancement in 2011 and debatably in 2015, have been eroded by the selfish and evil machinations of a desperate self-serving cabal.
With the US and the UK releasing warnings to Nigeria about electoral malpractices, it doesn't take much to look at what has been happening in Venezuela in the past three days or so.
In Venezuela, the leader of the opposition party ran for the Presidency with the incumbent President. The election was heavily rigged in the incumbent's favour and the international observers from the European Union and other countries, including the USA, reported the malpractices in that election to their home countries.
And what has happened?
President Trump of America a few hours ago duly recognised the opposition party leader as the President of Venezuela. Trump says the election was rigged and that the incumbent has to leave. What has followed? The European Union, Canada and other countries have also recognised the opposition party leader as the rightful President-in-waiting. Trump and the other countries have directed that all oil proceeds due to Venezuela be kept in a special account and will not be sent to Venezuela till the opposition candidate is rightfully sworn in. Trump has also agreed that the opposition leader can form his cabinet which the international community has agreed to recognise.
This means that the Venezuelan opposition party leader is now a President in the eyes of the world, while the incumbent president in his country is screaming blue murder. The opposition President will be given the status of an international Head of State and will be thus recognised. It's only a matter of time before the incumbent in Venezuela either accepts defeat or is removed by the people's protest when biting economic sanctions hit very soon.
How does this relate to the February election in Nigeria? Only the discerning can see what will happen.
If Buhari and INEC and the security agencies attempt to rig the election and results which do not reflect the will of the voters are declared, Nigeria should prepare themselves for the Venezuelan treatment.
Every Nigerian should be asking for right now is for free and fair elections in Nigeria. Let the people's will prevail.
It won't take one month of sanctions on us before the reality of what the effects of a rigged election on our economy and national psyche hit home.
A word is enough for the wise. your submission is right but what happened in Venezuela can't happen here bcoz buhari will beat Atiku with wide margin without rigging if you say this in 2015 when buhari was in opposition I would have support your motion am not among buhari fans but saying the truth of what I know,,, Justice Onoghen would have done normal thing when he was declaring his asset by declaring all without forgetting any hiding account undeclared somewhere by now nobody would have removed him although federal government would have followed due process but as its now the deed has been done, I can't support corrupt individual follow rules of law or not, thief is thief. |

Asking PMB to join the debate is like asking a host nation of world cup to play qualifying match
APC is the host nation while PDP and others are to play qualifying matches and since PDP did not appear on the debate they should be worked over
Atiku Abubakar claimed he opted for the debate because of the absence of PMB
Please ask Atiku Abubakar if debate is war?
Did Atiku Abubakar intend to update Nigerians on his capabilities and agendas to rule Nigeria or to attack PMB?

Politics › Re: Sack Service Chiefs Now, Former DSS Director Tells FG by Lokostic77: 12:58pm On Jan 03, 2019 |
MobilityExpress: This is one aspect where I fault Buhari. By now, all the service chiefs should have been sacked and replaced, because of all the heavy casualties suffered by our soldiers, and all the fatal havoc being caused by herdsmen militia against civilians in the north and middle belt. During GEJ era, security was so porous and so bad that Boko Haram was actively controlling huge territories in the North spanning states. They had flags hoisted all around and were running amoc doing as they please. Security was so bad that even the capital abuja, the seat of power, was being bombed with reckless abandon during GEJ's time. And I believe this was one of the main reasons GEJ lost the elections because they took security for granted, played politics with defeating Boko Haram that destroyed thousands of thousands of lives. When Buhari came in, he modified the security architecture and changed military strategies and they recorded significant success against Boko Haram and restored security and peace, relatively far better than GEJ time. However, in 2017/2018, only God knows what went wrong, security crisis all over again. First it was with the herdsmen militia running rampage killing civilians all around, and Boko Haram is gaining ground again to the point of taking territories again, and the security of the nation is speedily retrogressing back to the insecurities of the GEJ era. It is a big shame and a big blow to this government. If Buhari is truly serious about securing the nation and winning the fight against the evil elements, with all the heavy casualties being recorded and success being made by enemy forces, then by now he ought to have reviewed and reorganized the security apparatus of the nation, which must include replacing the service chiefs and security heads under whose leadership, command and watch which such disastrous security collapse is happening. It doesn't mean he hates them, it just means you need to change strategy and change staff to accomplish a better result. If not that PDP is such a damaged goods and disoriented opposition party, by now it would be expected that Buhari would lose the election for the same reason GEJ lost, which is massive insecurity in the nation. But fortunately for APC, there is no credible opposition on ground. However, I think President Buhari needs to do better and review the security handlers that have suddenly gone from doing excellent jobs to not so doing well. Imagine if you have a home lesson teacher teaching your child, and the child starts performing well in his studies but then later the child begins to fail in subjects he used to pass before or the child begins to fail qualifying exams repeatedly year after year. Won't you hire another better teacher to take over? That's the thing. President Buhari with his military background ought to know better and do better. Even Obj changed service chiefs when necessary, and the truth is even when not necessary, service chiefs are changed as a matter of routine, for fresher ideas and newer better tactics in protecting the nation. President Buhari I wish you could read this, this is 2019, please do better for the security of Nigeria and change whatever and whomever needs to be changed to keep the nation and its citizens safe. I give you kudos for this your submission, it's unbiase, you said it the way it is you're not like those who have brain but they can't reasoning but they do that with their anus.
