This is really expensive o
If you don't really need 20gb you can call or go to the store to ask for a lower plan
i pay 35$ (tax excluded) for 10gb and i don't even use it up at the end of the month since im in school most of the time and there's wifi everywhere
Freedom is really good sha they have some network coverage on the subway.

Wsx2:

The cbs already knows the length of visa they will give you at point of entry because they will ask you at entry when you are starting your program and when you are likely to finish it. They will add extra months to your completion date Because they know you may not finish your program at exact date your school stated.

Everyone should come with money bills are real over here. Here is phone bill for this month when I am not even paying for device I bought my own phone. This is just 20gb plan

Maybe twice a day, I even got desperate and started sending mails to MPs around the Greater Toronto Area.
Of course they didn't help but it was just to fulfill all righteousness.
My GCMS notes still hasn't arrived sef.

Congratulations. How often did you send webforms after 12 weeks passed?

Hello Lola,

Did you get response or update after you submitted the Form IMM5257 or ppr just drop and how long did it take.

Thank you

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lolathegenie: 5:21pm On Oct 16, 2022
@coooooooks 'Congratulations!!

Please focus on school. I know people try to work but please, if at all possible, get 100% in your classes, talk with ALL your teachers: let them all know your name.

Volunteer with profs or even TAs. A top grade is the best gift you could give yourself.'

I don't plan on working until maybe the holidays tbh
The 100% is a work in progress o
I hope my teachers know me because I'm the only black girl in most of my classes.
I don't know why I just saw this now but thank you so much for the encouragement <3
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lolathegenie: 5:18pm On Oct 16, 2022
Yes i couldn't meet up with the travel date
The visa would expire yes.
The timeframe is usually meant to allow you get there before your studies start but i don't know why they decided to do that to me o lol
olutoyiin:
Congratulations on your successful landing. I just saw you had a previous study visa that you didn't use because of the counterfoil date. Does IRCC gives one deadline in which they must travel or have their visas revoked? Whats the time frame or Grace period given? This cannywaka is truly not for the faint hearted. I had thought you could travel anytime you had the visa.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lolathegenie: 4:49pm On Oct 16, 2022
They asked for my visa I showed them on my passport
I doubt they'll ask for vaccination proof anymore sha
But that's basically it
Maybe also where you're going to in Canada and proof of that too
Good luck!

Who used ethiopian airline recently? What documents did they request for as a student?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lolathegenie: 1:40am On Oct 09, 2022
I will advise you to be calm lol
Just gather all the necessary documents you need. You can even go for upfront medical before submitting your application just to get it over with.
Fill in the questionnaire on your portal and just get whatever documents you think will help them understand your situation.
Make sure you have a statement of purpose and don't forget to fill the temporary visa application form in the optional documents section.
In case of any delays, a deferral is always an option.
Good luck - from a fellow undergrad.

birchwood:
Hi all,

I'm an prospective undergraduate student to a school in Canada.

I graduated from secondary school this year.

I have gotten my admission letter for winter 2023 to the glory of God.

I know it's a bit late to start applying for a study permit, but how long does it usually take? I plan on applying online.

What documents do I need for seamless application process and what are the steps I have to go through after applying?

Like, a timeline of events that happen after applying.

I have been reading this thread for some time now, and the majority of timelines and requirements I see are those of people going for postgraduate courses.

To be very honest, I am scared that I won't get it on time, even though my parents are telling me to relax.

Anyways, any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you in advance

LANDING GIST!!!
Hey guys,
So the drive to the airport last week Friday was pretty stress-free for me, my dad and my brothers followed me.
They each carried one of my boxes so they didn't have to bribe anyone at the entrance to enter. We got to the check-in queue for Ethiopia Airlines which was a bit long but we were able to skip it by talking to one of their officials.
So within 30 minutes, I was done. Saying goodbye at immigration was the hardest part of the trip since they couldn't follow me any further.
I just swallowed my tears and I keep on trying to remind myself that I'll see all of them again.
My flight began boarding at around 12:40 and by 2:00 we had taken off.
This was my first time traveling alone so I was a bit nervous but I met a very nice lady who was also transiting to Toronto so we stuck together.
Finding the boarding gate wasn't hard, but I had to open my carry-on almost 4 times , it is well sha.
The second leg was longer (14 hours) but I occupied myself with some movies and shows. (Please try and bring a powerbank don't make the same mistake I did).
We sha finally arrived safely on Saturday morning 8 am Toronto time and everyone clapped for the pilot because omo e no easy.
I followed the signs to arrivals and filled in the declaration form. They sha led me and a bunch of other people to immigration where we waited for a while before the CBSA agent came. Please obey all their instructions word for word o.
He had already printed the study permits so all he did was stamp my passport to show I entered and wished me goodluck!
He also liked my name and he apparently graduated from the school I'm going to.

My aunt was waiting for me at the arrivals and we were able to set up my bank account and also get a phone number and plan for me. We also did some shopping as I was to move into my accommodation on Sunday.
I've now moved in and I've been attending classes physically now, the only problem is remembering where my classes are

Thank you so much to everyone who answered my questions no matter how silly they seemed.
Let me go and read o.

It's not random
It's supposed to be filled by all applicants from countries that require visa

Wealthh:

Maybe it’s a random document to be uploaded by all applicants...cuz like have seen 4different people that are asked to upload it as well

Use a webform

Letuspraytogod:
I’ve filled the form already.
How do I upload it? PLEASE can anyone answer me right now I’m begging.
I need to submit this form tonight, how can I upload it. There’s no option for uploading on the Column.
Thanks I’m advance

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by lolathegenie: 8:56pm On Sep 18, 2022
It's very necessary oh
Provided you're not from a visa-exempt country (which Nigeria definitely isn't) you must apply for a TRV
TRV is what they give when they stamp your passport, it is what grants you entry into Canada while the study permit lets you Study in Canada.
Please fill it as soon as possible

Letuspraytogod:

just login and checked my documents submitted right now.
Everything has been submitted until I reached “optional documents”

It’s asking for (Application for a Temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada IMM 5257) even tho Study permit application was provided.

Deadline to be submitted October 8.

Is this VERY necessary to upload and if yes, how do I go about it right now? Please.

Hello guys I've come back to post my timeline

2nd time applicant by the way
Applied June 9th
When I applied my previous medical was still valid so I had to wait for it to expire before doing another one
Submitted upfront medical - July 12th
Medical passed - August 3rd
At this point, I was already hoping PPR would come before my birthday which is August 16th but IRCC had other plans for me it seems
Waited and waited, Started sending webforms immediately application reached 12 weeks
Then eligibility review started 1st of September yay!
After that, I kept logging in every day until last week I just decided to check my submitted documents and noticed that the client information section had a deadline of 3rd of October. I quickly drafted a letter of explanation with the help of my uncle and my parents
and I submitted it via webforms and to 4 Nairobi visa office email addresses.
The status of the client information is still showing 'Not provided'
Finally yesterday, PPR while I was in online class.

Documents submitted
1. IMM1294
2. birth certificate
3. passport
4. letter of acceptance & confirmation of enrolment
5. mybankstatement & scholarship letter
6. digital photo
7. IMM5645
8. IMM5257
9. Proof of upfront medical exam

That's pretty much it!
For any June/July applicants don't worry too much you're next!

i know it’s medical request that’s why i’m asking usually there’s a section to upload additional documents requested in the documents section of your application

that’s why i’m asking if you uploaded it there too. not just webform and mail

Lolaflair:

It was medical request not upfront and i also sent ircc the request and all after i got them from iom
