Good evening everyone,
Has anyone recently renewed their child’s U.S. passport in Lagos? How was the process, and were there any new requirements or changes that parents should be aware of?
Given the current immigration-related developments, I’d also appreciate any recent experiences or updates. Is the renewal process still running as usual, or have there been any noticeable changes?
Thank you. |

Nonkala: Gdeven my pple So I went to the interview on Jan 26, 2024 and was rejected the 3rd time. I had my first visa Jan 2014 and I stated birth and appeared very heavy, had another birth ending 2015. then 2nd visa tru drop box in 2016. Drop box for the 3rd visa in 2018 for child birth was returned and we were rejected(hubby , myself and first child) . This was that Trump admin most of those that birthed were refused. We appeared again 2019 and VO refused the 2nd time that it was beyond him. We applied in 2022 and got date Jan 2024 wch we went. VO asked wr we wr going to I said vacation Houston, somehow we landed on the birth matter again and she asked for all receipts and was typing, next she issued the blue paper and said rejection was based on the other 2 rejections. I insisted what was the reason so we address it, she said she is not in the position to guide me. I wrote to the usatravelsoc email, insisting to know the reason for the rejections as we also don’t intend to migrate illegally as we have good income and UK and Canada visas too. The desk officer kept replying it was based on the blue paper wch is on home and financial ties. I have written d 5th mail and ended it wt the VO did not grant us a fair hearing as she can’t refuse us visas on financial ties wtout asking our source of income or looking at stmts. she is yet to respond ds 5th email Pls what do u advise we do as some advised immigration lawyer, who knows an affordable lawyer that can handle this if it’ warrants a lawyer Since then til now, our profile shows passport wt the embassy . Thanks Hi, any update on finding an immigration lawyer and re applying so far? I am in the same boat as you. |

Hello great Mamas in the house, i had my babies in the US in 2014 and in 2016 respectively and both visas i applied for the purpose of birthing. I was transparent with my dealing and i used Elpaso Texas with Dr Esparati. I have zero balances for both kids and never took any aid from the USA. Paid all bills to Zero Kobo. It’s been hell trying to renew since my last visa expired in 2017 from getting date to being rejected twice with no explanation. I have applied 3 times now since 2018/2019 and was rejected the last rejection was in December 2023 after waiting over 1year for appointment date. Am i doing something wrong or is anyone experiencing this? I’m as clean as i find it difficult to pay to get an earlier appointment date not cos of the money but cos i love to run far from anything not straight forward. I don’t know if to re apply or what to do. I have never used any agent for my applications. I’ve travelled to other countries in between this rejection. I need advice please and what to do. Like i said i have zero bills unpaid. Like i paid even the bills that came in the mail after i was back in nigeria afterbirth. I paid from here. So when i say zero bill i mean zero bills. And i didn’t take medic aid, i paid what i was charged out of pocket.
In terms of work I’m not doing bad so is my spouse and my status has changed way better from my last visas. |

flourishing247: How much did you pay? This will give people an idea on the best advice to give you. I used dr esparati in Elpaso. Delsol Medical center. Hospital, doctor was a total of $6,425 And I paid all in full for both kids. |

babyfaiz: When was that? I mean the last two times you were refused a visa? Things have gotten better now since the Trump era. What was their reasons for refusing you a visa? 1st refusal was in 2021 then I re applied and got an appointment for Dec 2023 and the regular blue paper. V.O- What do u do Me & hubby: we mentioned what we do V.O- Will you be requiring any medical attention this time. Us- Not atall V.O- You had both your kids in the USA. Did you use any medical assistance Us: No we didn’t as we cleared all bills and here is our itemized bills and zero balance statements of both kids (2014 & 2016) V.O- Unfortunately you are not eligible at this time. That was how it went. I offered to show my documents she turned them down. |

Myfavour22: Thanks a lot I appreciate this. I hope someone also drops the link soon
I’ll answer the parts I’m really sure of and leave the rest for the experts. Please don’t give anyone your children’s ssn oh, they’ll use it to collect your kids benefit and even incur loan which will be waiting for them when they grow. Citizenship by birth is the only type of citizenship that can never be revoked in the US, however you’ll need to renew their passports if it’s been up to 5 years that it was issued, which can be done at the US embassy in Nigeria. For the interview dates, there are groups you can join to check for closer dates for b1/b2 visa, please check the USA visit visa thread for links or ask. I think you should put your mind at ease and be prayerful for the interview, they have been many cases of prior rejections due to birthing and then subsequent visa granted to same people, just get all your documents in check |

Good day House, trust we are all doing great. Wishing all our expecting mums a safe delivery. Ive been an ardent member of this birthing thread since 2014 for my son and 2016 for my daughter via this thread. To d glory of God I had no issues and all. However, I’ve had a pressing concerns I need help/clarity on. 1st, my visa expired since 2018 I tried Renewing prior covid but was rejected (during d trump birthing saga) I was asked to bring my Itemized bill. Sorted that from Del sol Medical (Dr Esparati) tried getting an appointment again but unfortunately I got for Dec 2023. Is there a means of getting earlier dates ? 2ndly, I’ve been hearing people say I should be earning money from d govt for my kids. How true or possible is this? Someone even asked I give her their ssn which I declined. Lastly, we haven’t traveled with d kids to USA since 2017 is there anything like revoking citizenship if d child stays out of the country over a certain period? I will really appreciate all responses towards this. Thanks |

emeldamicheals: I just called them and they said they can get me a vbac dr. that is affiliated to del so but this is after I come in and have paid. So I think I will leave everything pending till I enter elpaso. If I get a dr that will deliver me at del so. I will go for it, if not I will deliver at UMC. I will just make a booking with intown suites for one week and subsequently make the rest while I stay.
@ lollarojo, my flight's proposed time to get to elpaso is 18:51 almost 7pm. So we can't get a room even after booking online. Wahala dey ooo. Wetin I wan come do. Let me call them and if dis is correct then we have to get a room for one night in a hotel then check into intown suites the nxt day. I no fit sleep 4 airport with my children nah. have u tried booking his grace lodge seems cheaper and homely especially for we with kids.Thats where im using th..also if u can get any mom in intown then u send cash to and they pay for a week and get ur room key for u, so when u land ur room key is available, changing hotels is tiring esp for 1 night when u all wd b jetlagged and tired..and as for vbac der is a Dr Yolanda Lagunas dt uses delsol and providence..i was supposed to use her but Dr Martel eventually accepted me after so much talks cos he birthed my 1st son and i am comfortable with him...also ive been sending moneygram via firstbank to elpaso and im using form A to process my hospital payment and doctors fee but its been a week i filled d form now no joy yet..trying to explore pta options as i ve less dan 2wks to travel.. |

emeldamicheals: Hi everyone and how are u all doing? I opened stanbic bank acc yesterday. Checked out black market which was 304 as @ yesterday. Praying seriously it falls or they lift PTA b4 2 weeks time since am leaving in 3 wks time. I got our tickets yesterday for me, mum and my twin girls. Lufthansa from abuja to elpaso 1,167,224 for all of us. 2 adults and 2 children I pray God perfects the rest of my plan especially dis whole dollar craziness. Please, to ask some questions. 1) How long does it take to get reply from embassy when u send notification of intent cos I intend sending it a bit closer to my travel time. 2) El paso mama's do u pay to make a reservation with in town suites. 3) What is the best network to use in el paso. International calls to nigeria friendly network. 4) Del so hospital told me they don't send prices via email. It was only coveyed vocally though I will be using UMC. I have doctor's letter. Is it very necessary to have email from hospital as well. I have email from UMC but the doctor that sent me correspondence is affiliated to del so hospital. 5) My flight goes via houston. Am scared shaa but God dey. I have 3 hrs 45 mins lay over only b4 proceeding to el paso. Hope I won't miss the flight since am with kids and I dnt know if lufthansa puts u on another flight if u miss ur flight cos of immigration. 6) I couldn't book for wheel chair cos they guy said it could trigger suspicions like if I was really fit blah blah blah... 7) Hope its no much stress with Lufthanss to add infant and hope its not too expensive either.
Thanks everyone and Sorry for the jamb questions. I love to type and sometimes I loose track of how much I have typed. Pls, am still waiting to collabo with mama's with birthing itinerary like me. Expectant mama's due in March. Elpaso bound... You can email me shaa on emeldamicheals@gmail.com i sent u a mail but didnt get a response maybe we wd ve discussed better as i have used elpaso before for my first and will be going in 2weeks again for the next..anyway if ure using intown suite u have to make sure u get there before 7pm as to check in else u might get stranded till the next day, someone mentioned staying over at d airport till the next morning because if same issue and u sure dont want to go thru that..i got ba ticket to elpaso via dallas..also letter of intent will ve replied within 48hrs from experience..UMC is kinda far from intown suites u will be spending alot on cab and mayb u try getting a place near der or change hospitals to delsol its just few mins from intown and the clinic..in elpaso i got tmobile for local calls and downloaded rebtel app for international calls and it was very affordable and easy to access...i dont see why you cant book wheelchair, if it will help its best u ignore that speculation and save urself d stress..goodluck |
