I think we need to be careful about this issue.

I think the prophet is right by escalating what he is perceiving. As long as the Governor seeks to control public preaching/licensing by different religious body, I also think that if this law is passed and succeeds, it will be an easy ground towards the Islamization of Kaduna and the entire Northern Region.

As a christian, I think the gospel should be preached to everyone and everywhere. I do not support any form of religious bill. It is a spiritual affair and for those who abuse it, God has ways of exposing and dealing with them. Rev King and co. and examples.

The study says tomatoes cut the risk of prostate cancer by as much as 20% ─ if eaten in 10 servings per week. One portion is counted as 150g of tomatoes, half a tin of baked beans, a slice of pizza with tomato puree, tomato-based pasta sauce or a glass of tomato juice. The researchers, from Universities of Bristol, Cambridge and Oxford, believe a chemical known as lycopene in tomatoes protects against the prostate cancer, which is a major killer of black men globally. The scientists, Vanessa Er, of the University of Bristol, also said men who doubled their intake of fruit and vegetables to the recommended five portions a day reduced their risk by nearly 25%. The study examined the diets and lifestyles of nearly 14,000 men aged between 50 and 69. Those who ate at least ten portions of tomatoes a week turned out to be 18 per cent less likely to develop prostate cancer compared to those who had none, or very few. However, they urged men not to eat too much baked beans, pizza and pasta sauce because of the high levels of salt. Er said: “Our findings suggest that tomatoes may be important in prostate cancer prevention. “We also found men who ate more fruits and vegetables had a reduced risk of prostate cancer. The risk reduction figure for men who ate five or more portions of fruit or vegetables, compared to those who ate less than two and a half portions, was 24%.” She urged men to rely on whole foods rather than supplements and stick to a diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables. She also suggested staying healthy and active and maintaining “an ideal weight”. But experts are of the opinion that there is no yet sufficient proof that tomatoes can prevent against prostate cancer. However, experts said there was not enough evidence for conclusive proof that tomatoes protected against prostate cancer because it is difficult to separate the effects of one type of food from another. A healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables together with regular exercise is by far the best option is always recommended by doctors.

tzetzefly: Whether you use that visa or not, it matters not. A dropbox is only possible when your application is for the same category of visa previously issued and it is within a year since expiration.

I have a friend who got a 2years multiple entry US visa in october 2012 but yet to travel.

The Visa will be expiring october 2014 (this year). He's not been able to travel. Although, he's been to the US sometimes in 2008 for a conference. He also got a 2 year visa then (2008-2010). That was the only time he used that visa.

Also, he's got 3 expired UK visas on his passports (one as a student).

The issue now is he's NOT too sure if he'll still be able to travel to the US with this present visa.

Last year September during our last class in our membership school in my church, A member anonymously asked the senior pastor for an advice for a careless mistake he made.

Here is it:

A 33 year old single guy who's been a virgin for this long and vowed never to be involved in sexual intercourse with any woman until his wedding night. Unfortunately, a week to that day after much pressure, he succumbed and did it. He then admitted that ever since, the only thought and feelings he gets is just to have more and more sex.

I face a great amount of sexual temptation everyday too and really need to get married quick. Paul said he that thinks he's behaving in an inappriopriate way towards a virgin should get married to her.

My brother, please, don't relent because greater temptations are coming your way sooner than you expect.

MY ADVICE:

- Try to stop flirting on social networks as this opens doors for temptations.
- Like someone said above, beware of that lady you almost got laid with.
- As much as possible, avoid being idle and guard your thoughts and your heart diligently.
- Spend time with God's word and Pray frequently.
- If you are still in school, be active in fellowship and join evangelism group.

Pls, I need more advice.

There is a friend who got into a relationship with a girl months back. The guy is a working class but the girl finished her NYSC 3 months ago. The guy painstakingly supported the girl in job search which he said has run upto hundreds of applications. He has also helped in various ways financial and in other requirements to succeed in job interviews. Fortunately, the girl got a job offer from a good company at VI.

The Issue
The girl resides in delta state with her parents.Her mum is currently recovering from a threatening ailment(PS) which requires family members to be around for perfect and complete recovery. The presence of the girl in question speeds up the recovery of the mother but not any other person while her absence tends to slow it down or somewhat makes it a little on the bad.

Now, the girl's father initially declined the girl's decision to go resume on the said date (on the grounds that her presence is a very important factor to her mum's recovery) but after several plea, he succumbed and released her. Unfortunately, when she travelled back to lagos to pick up the letter, she had been replaced by another candidate. She had to go back to delta state.

Just about 1 month later, my friend helped her secure another interview in another company at VI but on telling her dad about the interview to enable her travel, the dad declined and told her that lagos is too far.He advised her about getting a job around delta state.
Note that within the space of that 1 month, arrangements were made for someone(an expert midwife) to take care of the mother and besides, some of the girl's siblings reside in delta (in the same town) but not in the family house. But the father still insists that the girl stays around.

My friend is actually thinking of getting married to her latest early next year but the plan was for both of them to get something doing. My friend works at VI too.
My dear friend and the girl are in serious dilemma on what to do now.

Calling off the relationship is very hard because:
1. They love each other so dearly; and
2. It's not the girl's fault and she can't disobey her father but honour him.

Please, your candid advice will be welcomed.

Iowa Supreme Court to Reconsider Case of Woman Fired for Being 'Irresistible'

A woman fired from her job for being too "irresistible" will get another chance at her sex-discrimination lawsuit after the Iowa Supreme Court ruled this week to reconsider the case.

Melissa Nelson says she spent 10 happy years working as a dental hygienist for Dr. James Knight until he blindsided her with a pink slip, claiming Nelson was a threat to his marriage.

The all-male Iowa State Supreme Court ruled in December that Knight was within his legal rights when he fired Nelson because the termination was not based on gender.

'Irresistible' Dental Assistant Fired

Knight's attorney says the decision to terminate Nelson was legal, telling ABC News he believes the court will reaffirm its decision because "the law has not changed."

"Dr. Knight's dismissal of Mrs. Nelson was perfectly legal according to all of the well-established case law not only in Iowa but in every other jurisdiction that has considered similar claims," attorney Stu Cochrane said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Nelson hopes that even if the law hasn't changed, how the judges interpret it will.

"I can tell you she was surprised and delighted by the news that the Iowa Supreme Court has withdrawn its earlier ruling," Nelson's attorney, Paige Fiedler, told ABC News in a statement. "Not only does this breathe new life into her court case, it eliminates what many of us believed was a harmful legal and misguided precedent."

State Supreme Court Rules 'Irresistible' Employees Can Be Fired

The decision drew national attention and sparked much controversy.

"The only thing that's changed here is the public's reaction to the decision, which was mostly negative," said Ryan Koopmans, a Des Moines attorney who is not affiliated with the case.

Koopmans says the justices will not hear new evidence in the case but will likely be issuing a new opinion.

"There really is no reason to grant rehearing six months after the decision was made unless someone is seriously considering changing their mind," he said. "I think we'll definitely see at least one opinion in favor of Melissa, the question is whether it is the majority opinion or dissenting opinion."

Nelson, a married mother of two, was summoned to a meeting with Knight in 2010 while a pastor was present. Knight then read from a prepared statement telling Nelson she was fired.

Nelson sued, claiming her firing was a form of gender discrimination.

According to court documents, Knight made reference to what he believed was Nelson's infrequent sex life, saying, "That's like having a Lamborghini in the garage and never driving it."

Six months before Nelson was fired, she and her boss began exchanging text messages about work and personal matters, such as updates about each of their children's activities, the justices wrote.

The messages were mostly mundane, but Nelson said she recalled one text she received from her boss asking "how often she experienced an orgasm."

Nelson did not respond to the text and never indicated that she was uncomfortable with Knight's question, according to court documents.

Soon after, Knight's wife, Jeanne, who also works at the practice, found out about the text messaging and ordered her husband to fire Nelson.

The couple then consulted with a senior pastor at their church and he agreed that Nelson should be terminated in order to protect their marriage, according to Cochrane, Knight's attorney.

From the latest development above, The guy was a bit too harsh but then he couldn't control himself and had to give in to his wife's suggestion to fire Mrs Nelson. It's more like amputating an obvious source of temptation to save his marriage.

Not to worry, you are not alone in these thoughts, most men in your shoes share similar misgivings. Novelist Tony Parsons famously once said “his pennis literally would have dropped off” in a long term relationship where his partner earned more than him. Ok well, that’s a bit cynical Tony. But the truth is that people actually feel this way. How do they deal with it? Well, lets see.



Take the story of Julius a schoolteacher, who happens to fall in love with a banker. They soon got married and are blessed with children. His wife’s salary is more than his, making her the breadwinner of the house. She funded their 4-bedroom apartment and cars. She even funds vacation and the children’s school fees. Julius doesn’t mind abdicating his natural responsibility as a breadwinner. In fact he makes it up by being at home on time, going through home work with his kids, making sure dinner is ready for his wife and patiently waiting for her every night till she is back. He believes if he can’t meet up financially then he should compensate in other areas of family life.



Evelyn on the other hand is married to a Lawyer whom she met and dated back in University. She now works with an oil company and earns his six months pay in one month. But that’s how far her edge over her husband goes. He instructs her to pay all or part of her salaries into his account every month and gives her an allowance for the month. She says, it’s not a situation she likes, but after several rebuffs by her threatened her marriage, she gave in.



Emma, a Medical Doctor, has over the years established himself as a seasoned consultant. His wife works for a multinational and is equally successful. On the average she earns well over her husband but he doesn’t mind, he likes ambitious women and pushes his wife to achieve more. He believes his earnings, though less than that of his wife is enough to cater for his family. He takes care of everything in the house, even if it means borrowing; he will not allow his wife to spend a dime. To him, a man must take charge.



Adelice an Accountant for one of the top accounting firms in Lagos is married to a self-employed businessman etc. He believes by nature he should be the breadwinner but he can’t turn away from the steady income that comes the way of his wife as his is far from regular. In fact, when they initially got married he almost asked her to resign believing her job may one day make her insolent. He thanks his stars he didn’t do that. Today, his wife’s steady income augments his sporadic earnings as they both contribute to the day-to-day running of their home. He gets to take care of one off payments like rent, vacation, school fees etc while the wife takes care of consumables like food, fuel, utility bills etc.



Peter and his wife of two years have had issues dealing with her job. She earns far more than he does, a situation he hasn’t been able to deal with. To make matters worse, she regularly comes home late from work. It just doesn’t go down well with his traditional beliefs. “A woman must be under a man no matter what”. His wife loves him so much and can no longer stand the incessant quarrels at home. She accepts his instruction to resign since he can’t find a better paying job. Now they live on his salary.



The above, depicts how most families deal with this thorny issue. If it were you, who would you be? Julius? Evelyn? Emma? Adelice? Or Peter? Adelice and her husband seem to be a model middle class couple. A husband and a wife should find ways to contribute to the family’s finances. It shouldn’t be the sole responsibility of one person. Women like their men being in charge even if they earn more. A man is naturally the leader of the house and should do so not by inertia but by actions. It is important to recognize the role women now play in modern society and in family building. They should be encouraged to advance their careers and allowed the independence to manage their finances. Times have changed such that behind every successful family is a successful woman.
