I had the opportunity to sit on an interview panel recently, and all I can say is—many of you are simply not ready for the job market.

Let me break this down:

You couldn’t answer basic interview questions, yet when asked if you had any questions, you’re asking, “Is there any other role apart from the one advertised?” Are you here for a job or shopping around?

During the interview, you were literally pressing your phone while being asked a question. I had to call your attention before you awkwardly tucked it between your legs. Really?

You say you currently earn ₦750k, yet you’re interviewing for a role that pays ₦300k. Make that make sense. Why are you here?

You casually told the panel that your current job is your “Plan A,” and this one is “Plan B.” Since it’s a hybrid role, you’d use your free time to run your personal business. So, you’re applying for a backup plan?

You claimed to be a CFO in your previous job, but you couldn’t explain the most basic accounting principles. How does that add up?

Again, you couldn't answer key questions, but you're confidently asking if there are other positions available? Focus on the one you're failing at first.

Your sister called during the interview, asking to speak to the panel because you’re running late for a church program? Is this a job interview or a family meeting?

You said your Excel skill is 8/10, but when given a simple task, you were frozen—just staring at the screen saying, “I’ve forgotten it.” 🤦🏽‍♂️

Please, if you’re going to attend interviews, come correct.
Dress well, prepare well, act like you want the job, and most importantly—respect the process.

One thing I would do to check professionalism and confidence then was, drag them out of the pre-meditated questions and answer and dabble into reality. You immediately see them stuttering..

Someone who claimed to have good knowledge of excel spreadsheet was asked to add 1 to 100 on a spreadsheet and re-save the file in his or her name, they still miss such simple task.

At a point I kept questioning my sanity till I pleaded with a friend to handle the interview while I pose around the hall like an applicant to see if we had been fair all along. Behold, it was just all a scam on the part of the applicants.

I just had to settle for “learn on the job” tactics.

Show me that man, and I will show you a low value man without discipline. A man without a strong, respectable network of friends. A man without shame. A man without order in his life. A man who does not demand accountability because he himself lacks it. A man she will call a whimp and she will eventually cheat on with someone who demands accountability from her.

As per a man bickering with women, she is also correct.

A sensible man creates boundaries and enforces them, and never renegotiates them. Calling out a boundary MUST NOT INVOLVE Shouting and quarrelling. Don’t get into arguments with her, especially with logic and facts. Tell her once and enforce it. Remove time, remove resources, remove protection, remove provision, remove validation. No reaction/overreaction IS YOUR TRUE WEAPON. But how do you do these things when you do not have value way above her. If you can be easily replaced, then all you have is your self resect. Keep that intact and walk away from a woman who does not respect your boundaries. You are a man and easily manipulated to lose emotional control with someone you are to lead? Don't bring yourself down to that level. Why should I waste energy speaking with logic to a brain and mind run by emotions? Choose your words wisely. Not too much talk. Don’t argue like a child.

And when the “I don’t care attitude” extends to her feelings, she changes his name to “insensitive man”. When the “I don’t care” is extended to finances, you see them brooding about..

There is nothing anyone wants that the society does not have to offer. But if you can’t tolerate a man at his weaknesses you obviously don’t deserve him at his best..

there is a point you get so used to samsung that you will find it very difficult to cope with many other devices. I sometimes use my samsung phone for months without putting it off for a day, and i don't get to bother about how many apps left on.

the truth is, you have to be mindful of your chipset as much as you are worried about phone overheating especially if you live in an area with poor network reception. This same poor network also have effect on you battery health as consequence of hotness. snapdragon 650 upwards is the jerk if you consider poor reception where you live without it posing strong effect on your battery health and tremendous hotness..

Do not generalise please. You discourage one of your youths by this assumption. Same way some people would tell you they can't make anything out of 10 million naira, some people are actually earning their living through a daily business hustle of less than a million naira.

Life is not as complex if one learn to cut his or her coat according to available resources..

I feel so excited to even think a few Nigerian youths still have a mindset of starting small and growing a business with consistent but mindful effort.

Without taking much of your time, I would advise to discover yourself business wise through available resources and capital strength.

For example, every environment you find yourself has its own potential.

You may have to use some online resources to check people's mindset and most searched items and that should enable you know what to invest in.

Check out Google trend to know what people are looking for online and do some comparison. Google trend allows you to compare geographical search between commodities for example, it allows you to know if people buys phone more than they are actually sourcing for a laptop in a particular city where you live..

For example if you have the 200k to invest. You may be considering buying and reselling a laptop, a mobile phone or refrigerator. Google trend allows you compare the demand for these 3 at various time in that city. This allows you to peep before you leap.

You can invest on mobile phone for a start with that amount of money. Meanwhile you have to learn to be disciplined and consistent.

You can buy a mobile phone from a good source for like 150k, test run it for just a day to be sure of any faults then upload it on jiji. Don't be greedy, compare Lagos prices with prices in your area, it is called market scan. Then u will be able to know how much you are adding up to make you a profitable sales. Don't bebtempted to put so much as profit because your city price is so high.

Focus on turnover, how many times you can buy and resell in a week. If you make profit of 20k on each gadget you sold, and area able to run sales like 3 times a week, you are in profit of 60k per week already..

Legitimate business grow slowly and steadily with consistent and committed efforts..

But you can actually change the screen of that you S22 perfectly and still enjoy it for a couple of years while u save up for another phone conveniently. S22 is a good phone and would still be relevant in technology market in years to come.

With around 150k, u should have a perfect screen replacement without glitches and still enjoy that lovely phone
