Cristiano Ronaldo usually provides a match-winning moment – but he prevented Juventus from taking all three points against Sassuolo. With Juventus looking for a winner in the last 20 minutes, Paulo Dybala received the ball in the area and unleashed a strike on the turn. However, Ronaldo was standing near the goal-line and inadvertently stopped the shot from troubling the goalkeeper so the score remained at 2-2. Politics › Re: Rivers Is Not A Christian State, Wike - Punch Editorial by lordkay10(m): 9:29am On Dec 02, 2019 |
NaMeAboki: OP was on point until he made the same mistake many others continue to make concerning adoption of Sharia in the 12 northern states.
Let us get this very clear; so far Wike is only governor to declare a particular religion (Christianity) for his state; I repeat, no other other governor has done what Wike did - including those northern governors who introduced sharia penal code in their states.
There is a big difference between adopting a religious law (alongside others) targeted only at it's adherents (Sharia for Muslims only) against adopting or declaring a particular faith (Christianity) as the blanket and only religion (at the exclusion of others) for a state - as Wike did.
Unfortunately, many Nigerians are being deliberately misled by those opposed to Sharia (CAN, the media etc) into believing otherwise - it is even more unfortunate that many seemingly intelligent folks have been gullible enough to have fallen for this false narrative; including the OP. Brilliant! |

U really don't get it, when did Mike and other PDP losers suddenly start loving politicians in APC? Mike should at least be happy that Osinbajo is being 'sidelined' Well, for the discerning mind, we know what they want, they see Osinbajo as a potential successor to Buhari, so they're hell-bent on doing anything to create unnecessary rift between him and his boss, thereby hurting his chances. If the current issues were to have occurred in Buhari's 1st term, he would have been the target of these evil men to pick holes to hurt his 2nd term ambition, but since Buhari is now ineligible for another term, he's out of the picture for now and the focus now is on Osinbajo Mike and his co-travellers should shove their unsolicited advice up their ass, Osinbajo doesn't need advice from the devil |

SMH...this guy only appeals to those with low IQ, there's nothing savage about this, rather Reno is making a mockery of himself for not knowing (or pretending not to know) that a VP cannot sign a bill into law unless such powers is transmitted to him by the President, if he would be out of the country for a specified period, or at his discretion. If the VP had signed this same bill these miscreants are yapping about, the hypocrite would still be the first person to tell his horde of low IQ followers how Buhari has been delegating his statutory roles to Osinbajo. Only those still hurting from the back-to-back election defeat look forward to his incorehent tweets usually devoid of logic, as a form of consolation. Dem go wail taya, Osinbajo no send anybody |

Simply farmers taking advantage of the shock in the market to make more profits that inflicts misery on others. Nigerians are Nigeria's problems |

The very same people who mindlessly clamor for their "son" or "daughter" to attain an office, even though he or she may be totally unsuitable in terms of character, experience or education, is that pretty much all of them would be more than happy to emigrate to Western countries where neither they nor anyone who looked like them could ever dream of running the country, if only they were granted the opportunity! ... The reason for the obsession for tribal dominance is not far-fetched, it's nothing but for bragging rights, Africans are egoistic in nature |

Politics › Re: PDP Set To Sack Staff, Notifies Workers by lordkay10(m): 12:28pm On Sep 18, 2019 |
Zeemam: The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has notified staff at its headquarters and at the Peoples Democratic Institute, of its plan to sack them.
The NWC set up a committee on the matter but is yet to receive and discuss the report of the committee.
It was further learnt that the downsizing of the workers was the main agenda of a recent meeting between the staff of PDP and PDI and an official of PDP NWC, who requested not to be named.
It was also gathered that the party plans to pay the staff that would be affected their severance allowances as contained in the party’s Establishment Manual signed by the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
According to the highlights of the meeting signed by the Chairman of the PDP/PDI Staff Welfare Committee, Mr. Innocent Nwankwo, the monthly wage bill of the establishment staff (PDP/PDI) amounted to about N15m while their total staff strength is 96.
It was learnt that the plan to downsize the workers was necessitated by the need to rightsize the workforce, reduce redundant staff members and the over-bloated wage bill.
Nwankwo said that the rightsizing was not necessarily because the party’s fortune was dwindling.
He added that the party was still strong financially as it had 16 State Governors, 44 senators, 131 House of Representatives members and about 390 members of States’ Houses of Assembly.
Read more: https://www.chronicle.ng/2019/09/broke-pdp-notifies-staff-impending-sack/ @bolded, so the financial strength of the party is a function of how many members it has holding elective positions. Democracy is not for Africans |

festacman: It smacks of either ignorance or mischief when PDP members emotionally harp on the PEPT's lawful "affidavit for certificates" ruling to denigrate its painstaking judgement.
What Justice Garba JCA said yesterday in his lead judgement was that in line with the existing electoral law, candidates are not compelled to attach their educational certificates after stating their qualifications in the vital INEC forms provided they back it up with properly sworn affidavit.
This ruling simply implies that while there is nothing wrong with attaching one's certificates whether forged or not, there is also nothing wrong with swearing affidavits that the qualifications you stated in the forms are true.
In these days of rampant forgery, attaching certificates does not prove anything. Also in these days of suspicious claims of credentials loss through fire, robbery or termites/rodent activities, swearing affidavit proves nothing. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Therefore, the authenticity of attached certificates or claims in sworn affidavits can only be verified by proper investigations.
In a situation where any of the certificates is found to be forged or any of the information on the sworn affidavit is found to be false, then a crime has been committed. Theese kind of comments renew my hope that all is not lost, we still have sane people on nairaland. Kudos!!! |
