Call this number 08139841391: Bedc customer care.
Ask them for key change token. The problem could be your unit has gone down very well. It's a problem in some meters.
Tell them you bought the token online through quickteller.
They will ask for meter number and tariff index number. Let them know that Quickteller does not give tariff index number. Within 24 hours you should get two 20-20 digit codes. Thanks bro |
Nairaland General › Benin Electricity Distribution Company Is Frustrating My Life by lordkay10(op): 4:51pm On Apr 28, 2021 |
Good day folks. It has been a turbulent period for me since BEDC installed their prepaid meter at my residence. The meter came with 100 units of electricity which the staff told me would be free of charge However, when I made an attempt to top-up the units when it was running low from a vendor, I was told I have to pay for the "free" 100 units before I would be able to top up. I had no choice than to part with 11,000 naira to pay off the 'debt' and buy 5000 naira worth of units for the top-up. I was told to proceed to the BEDC area office close to where I bought the units to obtain activation tokens being my first transaction on the meter. At the BEDC area office, the customer care agent gave me a series of code to enter on my meter when I get home for activation, and wait for another set of code from the BEDC headoffice via SMS, without which I wouldn't be able to load the top-up tokens I purchased. After following these instructions, I waited in vain for the final code from BEDC which wasn't forthcoming. I placed several calls to their hotline with some below-par agents attending to me at different points, each with a different method of how to solve my problem. Well, I finally got a competent agent who promised to escalate my case, and wait for 24hrs to receive the code I finally got the code the next two days but not after making series of threats to their hotline, and I was able to load my top-up tokens. But this is just the beginning Almost a month passed and I would need to top-up again. This time, I opted to do it online via quickteller since my meter has been 'activated'. I made payment but didn't get my tokens until after 24 hours. I proceeded to load the meter but I got an error message. I proceeded to call their hotline as usual but no luck this time, my calls keep on getting rejected. I paused for a while and tried again after few hours and I was finally able to speak with agent who told me I need to fill a certain complaint form on their website, after which I would be sent another kind of token from their headoffice I proceeded to fill the form on their website but the form wasn't submitted because "my meter number does not exist" I tried to get across to the customer care agent again to notify them of the development but their hotline has been unreachable since my last call. I proceeded to make a google search of their alternate complaint lines(if any) and I was shocked to see that the two other lines quoted on their website, each had 10 digits instead of 11, thereby making those numbers invalid. I've been in total darkness since then, not because I didn't pay my bills, but for the inefficiency of Benin Electricity Distribution Company Mods, kindly help me take this to frontpage for more views |

kayjay69: Bros, I don't subscribe to your solution sorry.
This issue is not political, you are implicitly asking us to vote for PDP and I have said it severally on Nairaland and for all who care to listen, anyone who makes this about APC vs PDP is an enemy of Nigeria and as bad as Buhari and Tinubu.
You want me to vote for the other useless political party that is simply lying in wait to continue what the present party is busy doing. I am not dumb bro.
Nigeria's problems are structural and we must push for restructuring not some BS about voting for some candidate who is as useless as the present government (maybe to a lesser degree). We are tired of empty rhetoric, it is time for real change not incremental negligible gains. With people like you, there's hope. Say no to APC/PDP |

Politics › Re: Tony Momoh To Buhari: Listen To Demands Of #EndSARS Protesters by lordkay10(m): 3:03pm On Oct 20, 2020 |
Kingdemu: I never had an encounter with members of police SARS, but I stood in solidarity with the agitators even though we slightly differ in terms of the fate of the unit.
While I am for it's reform, the protesters are for it's decommissioning. In the end, the protesters had their way, the government succumbed to their demand and decommissioned it.
At this juncture, having made the gov't to disband the unit and quickly rolled out modalities towards reforming the Nigerian police, what was expected of the protesters was the suspension of the protest and instead monitor the process of implementing the reforms to ensure that it is effected to the later.
Where they started losing it was when some of those supporting the protests began to insult, malign and even blackmail those who question why they continued with the protest after what was seen by all as an initial success.
Also, perhaps intoxicated by the euphoria, other Nigerians who complained that their lives were made miserable as a result of the blockade of the road by the protesters were not left out in the insults.
Soon the protesters started behaving like the SARS they were up against, asking people to live with the hardship, that they were fighting for their salvation. That was a wrong thing to do. You can't force people into supporting your movement, you make your movement appeal to them, and none of which is by denying them their freedom of movement and telling them to live with it.
Now the protesters are saying thugs have infiltrated them, pointing accusing fingers at the ruling party. Whether the accusation is true or not is not the issue, what is the issue is that they gave room for whoever drafted the thugs by not listening to the voice of reason.
If they had listened, and quickly announced the suspension of the protest to give the government the benefit of the doubt, whoever planned the said 'infiltration' of the thugs would have done that, and their protest would have been a complete success.
Now they are busy trying to dissociate themselves from the thugs which will be difficult. Whether they were brought in to disrupt the protest or not, they are using your umbrella and hashtag. At this point, learn to take responsibility of your mistakes and move on, otherwise your own call for government to take responsibility will be a hoax. May your wisdom never go dry. These are the type of posts I love to interact with on this forum, thumbs up to you bro |

kayjay69: I have said this before and I am saying it again for all who care to listen.
What we should be agitating for is an end to bad governance and restructuring the country. The minute you make this about APC vs PDP or Buhari must go, you have alienating alot of people who you need to be on your side.
I dislike Buhari as much as the average Nigerian but Buhari did not cause all the problems we face today, he did amplify them no doubt. But if you like sack Buhari and put Atiku, even bring back Jonathan, the end results will still be the same.
The main cause of our problems is the ruling elite taking advantage of the rotten Nigeria system, restructuring or splitting Nigeria is the only real way out of the conundrum we face. You've got so much wisdom. You just spoke my mind |

With government wasting 1 trillion naira, part of which comes from loans and grants to make up the 22 naira per kWh.
The power sector has been running at a loss since privatisation. It's the reason why we don't have sufficient light, because the sector is not earning sufficient money to fix things
Matters are made worse by discos not providing meters, and people not paying their bills. You're a rare breed. 99.9% Nigerians don't think this way, they just want manna to fall from heaven. It's garbage in, garbage out.... there's no shortcut to success, u just have to pay a price |
