Hi guys, I got an Audi A6 2003 model today and have a few things to fix to get it in optimal status, which mechanic repairs AUDI cars in Nigeria?
I know it's a German car but do I go to a Benz mechanic or its got its own specialist?

Sorry about your ordeal. However i have some questions.
1. Where do you reside?
2. When you scanned did you do a full system or scan or just engine? Pls kindly scan the whole system and let us have the details. Also if the scan result is in pdf, i would love to have it via email or whatsapp for better analysis.
Guessing off the top of my head, since engine moves on reverse but not in drive... It might not be mechanical.
3. After the repair was done, was the car moving forward atleast?
Can U possibly restore the original parts that were removed? And see how the vehicle responds.

2. it was a full system scan but I don't have the result. The mechanic can and work on the codes.
3. Yes the car was moving but not accelerating.

Will check that and revert.

Thanks for creating this thread. I recently got a used Audi A6 Quatrro, 2003 model. The engine runs fine when bough, tested by 3 mechanics. Two weeks ago the car developed overheating issues. The temperature gauge goes above half almost 5mins after startup. Had to make a long journey from Ibadan to Kogi state with, stopping occasionally to refill with water. Gave it to 'renown' mecho here who specializes in Benz and German cars. He said the gaskets are burnt, water pump is faulty and airflowmeter is faulty.
He then go ahead to recommend I change the engine but folks says he wants to rip me off that the engine is good. Please help me, I am confused as this is my first car.

03) 2.7L V6 32V.
04 5-Speed Tiptronic.
05) 2003
06) Euro
07) Permanent AWD.

All these are addition to the overheating issue

12) Engine died whilst driving. Noise before it stopped, does not sound normal cranking, or doesn't crank at all.
13) Engine idles lumpy (misfire evident).
14) Check Engine Light illuminated.

18) Coolant level normal, engine overheating
21) Blue smoke from exhaust, marked drop in engine performance.

53) Cruise control doesn't operate.
54) ABS warning light is on.
57) Battery keeps going flat, battery warning light NOT illuminated.
58) Alarm sounds randomly
60) Central locking does not work.
61) Electric window does not work.
62) Electric mirror does not work.
63) Electric sunroof does not work.
65) One or more doors fails to unlock.

69) Poor radio reception.
70) Audio volume adjusts itself randomly.

Please assist me. My [b]Audi A6 2003 V6 Turbocharger [/b]engine initialy had an overheating issue. Alas I was not in Lagos or Ibadan where I can access Audi experts. I gave it to a local mechanic to check, he suggested changing the gasket and flushing the radiator. All was done.

While i was trying to check the quality of work done, I discovered that the car isn't starting once as before, then the car can't accelerate.

To cust the story short, we changed mass air flow sensor, throtle mouth sensor, and even the throtle perdal. Now the car can only accelerate while reverse gear but won't do so in drive. Rewire said it's a mechanical issue, the mechanic disagreed saying it's an electrical issue. I'm presently stucked and don't know what to do. Both were suggesting i change the engine and the gear.

had a rescan on the car and it's showing MAP sensor fault.

Please help me.

Well I dont know about your experience sha. but I got my car on Jiji and its after pricing and making enquiries from different sellers. Some i made enquiry only once and either their price or the car condition turned me off. Not everyone is a scam though. Also got some furniture there as well.

Some people get too defensive over nothing. Nobody is saying the Altima is a bad car, but compared to the DC the Honda is better in terms of reliability and ease of mantenance. Does that mean we are bad mouthing Nissan Altima? Op wants advice and in this case the better car he can choose is the Honda, unless if he is someone that has very good knowledge about cars then no problem going for the Altima. If a car needs special care to function well then automatically it is less reliable than the one that doesn't need any special care. TRUTH
