MAYOWAAK: While Nigerian governors were busy meeting and strategising non-stop on who should be the next chairman of the Political Billionaires’ Club, popularly known as the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), the Ruler of Dubai – a state in the United Arab Emirates – was busy unveiling plans to build three world-class hospitals and 40 new clinics to promote “medical tourism”. His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the plan was to build hospitals comparable to any medical facility anywhere in the world. They will also build five-star hotels next door to the facilities for the relatives of patients. The objective is to add another dimension to the Dubai story – trade, travel, real estate and now medical tourism. That is vision. That is leadership.Insightful. A food for thought. No one has put it better like. Like i said in my earlier post, this calls for sober reflection, and not calling for the crucifixion of obiagelli. It grieved me to have elected leaders leaving our shore to far away india, cuba, dubai for medical attention. What happen to the average Nigerians who can afford such? That is callous, wickedness and total disregard to the very right of the populace. Yet, gullible as some are, will come here to attack anyone whose opinion of the bad state of the nation contract theirs. Every factor for development; population, oil, solid minerals are within our bound but failure of leadership which breed ethnicity, religious intolerance, corruption and general backwardness should take the centre stage of this topic and not this shallow thinking express here today. How many of you are comforting watching those sick patients being displayed on AIT soliciting for funds running into millions to be transported and treated in India thus increasing the Gdp of that country, quite shameful. That is a clear evident of failed leadership. Development transceds couple of good houses and office blocks to availability of basic and adequate amenities and service utilities which presently, is grossly lacking. Pls, stop calling for Obi's head. |
What has development got to do with diversity or population. Are we more populated or diversified than china, yet they have moved forward. Some Nigerians are just full of excuses. Pictures like these are meant to make us sober, reflective and objective in our choice and quest for better leadership rather than engage in some meaningless arguement which never takes us anywhere. Bad Leadership has been the undoing of this great country, and not ethnicity or religion. Puting aside emotions and reaching out for the man whom the cap fit irrespective of parties should be our concern. Obi and horus, pls fire on, i love pictures. |
Symphony007: you PDP lapdogs are so myopic that you think anybody who is not for your robbery gang is in the APC. You are crafting a dem versus us attitude....well dear. I don't belive of the PDP you mentioned because one way or the other, they had the means to help the nigerian people but did'nt. I belive the nigerian political system needs an overhaul. New people need to get involved. Somebody like pat utomi. That man has a passion for this country.Symphony, why wasting time responding to fellow of the same feather. So appalling that anyone who disagreed with their blood sucking party is tagged an opposition. Every sane Nigerian is not unaware of the depth of rot (corruption, impunity etc) that pdp led gov't over the years had instituted, yet a supposed sane man will see no wrong or harm in this. The law of madness is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. 14 yrs in a life of a child is enough to have him successfuly evolve physically, mentaly and emotionaly, when such is lacking, then something is graveously wrong that demand an urgent fix. Like you said sir, an urgent over haul of d system is what is required irrespective of parties involve. Playing politics with the lives of millions of Nigerians in the name of partisanship base on emotion and ethnicity (na my kins man), is being childish, mindless and wicked. |

Christians in kd had proven over the years that they are not a push over in reprisal attack and counter attack. All this ranting is meaningless. An eye for an eye, blood for blood, still remain a norm among kd Christians. Like someone rightly said, civility is not timidity. If he thinks he can use inflammatory and deregotory remarks to incite his zombie followers against Christians, he should remember that Christians in Kd have never been caught unaware, and as history has proven, time shall tell who eventualy bears the brunt. A word is enough for the beared cleric. |
Igbos have not shown real seriousness in governance over the years. Their pechant or unquenchable taste for gains rather than leadership has seen them running to pinch tent with whosoever is at the centre. Clean, clear ideology over their stomach is what is required. You can't be agitating for a presidency, at the same time clamouring for a Biafran state, and in another hand making claims that Gej is an igbo president. All of these doesn't add up. It will be save to say that Gej is currently serving their term base on your claims. Politics is won with ideology and not on the alter of threat, sentiment, deceit and falsehood which is the 'tactical' weapons currently and wrongly deployed by both South east and south south. |
laughterclub: MEN ARE WISE NOW. HE CAN DO IT ALONE AND SAVE ALOT OF MONEY N FAME HE WANTS,BY DOING LIKE JESUS.HIS A PROPHET..HIT HIM JESUS LET HIS MIND HOT UPYou belong to the night club no doubt. Sorry, no insult intended. We need someone to enginnered and motivate the youths, and Pastor falls into that catogory. Pastor don't only talk but match words with actions. The struggle is not for everyone, atleast not for spoilers like you who patronised gov't for tribal reasons. We need ppl who are tired of the situations, men and women who are intelligent enough to recognise and apprecite good governance when ever they see one. People not blinded by tribal hatred, ppl ready to take d bull by the horn to demand a drastic turn around of the fortune of this great country Nigeria. Do you belong here? I love my country Nigeria, above my tribe, above my clan and above my region. Come rain, come shine, come what may, i pledged to defend her unity. Haters who clamour for seccession, disintegration, you can go to the moon for all i care, but pls don't hurt my NIGERIA she's all i got. |
Pastor Bakare has proven over again as a hard liner on national issues that bothered on perceived injustice on the ppl. His role at the subsidy fraud instituted by the fg quickly comes to mind, a man that nationalism and patriotism runs in his vain. Little wondered, he teamed up with Buhari, a disciplinarian, a detribalised man (irrespective of the propagandas) to redeem this nation from the murderors clutches of those who have sworn to keep us in perpetual penury. Unfortunately, some will rather read ethnicity and religion into it. We must align with this move among other things to press home our demands. |
Erotex: u are talking out of sense!! Incase if u dont knowAnd who exactly rely on gov't to chop? Pdp has never served anyones' interest and since over 14yrs now, d igbos have been alianated and removed from d schemes of things in d pdp. Your hatred for buhari and tinubu has blinded your eyes to recognise any sound reasoning from d opposition. Who ever lied to you that other regions are afraid of seccession, that person realy lied to you. Have ever ask yourself how has d igbos in Lagos, Kaduna or Kano benefited d ppl there? Instead, it is d igbos that are d biggest beneficiaries of their host communities, hence a parasites. Biafran seccession will be a sign of relief and a wake up call to northerners and d west. Be careful what you wish for. |
Statements like, "go and apologise to d oga, stop fighting your brother" and d likes, shows how politically myopic we are. Politics in d western world is about doggedness but here we have reduced politics to d level of native or village meeting, where one man's voice is d voice of god and no one dare oppose him. What Amaechi has demonstrated so far is nothing short of a true democrat who knows his onion and will defend it with everything. This brings to mind d fracas between Obj and Atiku, while d former was using every means available to discredit his vice, d latter stick to democratic principle, and eventually, he Atiku was recognise for his bravery. Amaechi mustn't win anytin, but posterity will judge who d better man was. |
Islam stinks. A rotten religion of confussed ppl with disgusting practices. |
Op, you have spoken well. Like you rightly said, we shared many things in common ranging from population, religion and ethnic diversity but strickingly, they seems to have moved ahead with respect to dev. The answer to our challenges is not far fetch, it simply lies with leadership and their unquenchable taste for power. When you have d right ppl to saddle d affairs of this great country without political affiliation; great thinkers, idealist, upright, competent, God loving and God fearing, detribalize, ppl that have d interest of d masses at heart, die heart leaders and passionate for d country, i bet you, Nigeria will get back on track. The break down of law and order, corruption, wickedness, division are not caused by religion or ethnic diff, but has been hijacked and maniptlated by politician for selfish ambition. Some might blame d North for some of d crises that bedeviled d nation due to their peachant for violence cos of their religious adhearance, while that is true, it is not exclusive to them alone because up front in d south south, east and west, there are incessant cases of arm robbery and kidnerpping. Unfortunately some of they perpetrators are ppl sponsored by politicians during their elections. The social ills can be over turn or corrected by us d eletorate base on d decision we make to vote d right person. Ethnic sentiment will not take us anywhere. Like indian, we must strive for good leadership irrespective of party or tribe. |
kettykin: Forbes, an American magazine has named 40 most influential People in Africa. On number one on the list is Nigeria’s 80-year-old literary icon, Chinua Achebe Achebe, who has written several novels, is best known with Things Fall Apart, which won him fame and was translated into over 57 other languages. And how has his literature benefited us. He was part and parcel of d chaos that almost disintegrate Nigerians with his published fairy tales of biafran account. He's more of a disaster than an accomplisher, except for tribal jingoist, brain washed, ethnic bias mind like you who out of frustration would rather swallowed everytin he said hook, line and sinker without verifying fact. |
Most ppl ordinary wave aside integrity over political gains. Obasonjo is the cause of the woes this country is experiencing today. He remains the biggest calaminity and failure that ever infested this country. As d former head of state, no meaningful accomplishment could be subscribed to him. Unfortunately, even after he left office, he also succeeded in imposing on us ppl not totaly prepared for such an office that demand competence, exposure, and integrity. Only those who feels he's still relevant politically still patronise him and hence eugolise him for political relevance. But all this display of godfatherism and show of relevance are cosmetic, cos the foundation they stand had long crack and will soon give way. When it does, he and his like will not survive it. Only time shall tell. |
Gbawe.:God bless you Gbawe. He never cease to amaze me, he always find excuse to discredit just about any one that disregard his paid masters. It is moronic to leave the message and attack the messanger. If the panalists have stated the obvious, it is ideal to counter them by bringing out facts that suggest or revealed that government claim of performance is tangible and factual, whipping sentiment without facing issue is dellusional. The panalists had made an important revelation, but all of these is unnecessary, we see these glaring failures on a daily basis; on d street, in d market places, and in many homes. Only sold out clown like one insincere9eria will offer their souls to d devil for a momentarily pleasure of crumbs from d master's table. |

What makes you different from a mantally derange man. It's ppl like you that perform those impiccable acts you mention above without d slightest conscience, so unfortunate that, you don't seems to have a problem with ppl with those quetionable character that you just sited? Oh, i remember, all of you are in d same league. Personaly, I can't just imagine myself getting intimate with a 12yr old not to talk of a 9yr old. So disgusting. You have lost touch of what human feelings are. |
Rooneyboy: Who the hell is this deranged fellowRonney, God bless you. You served him exactly what i had in mind. Only a sick, pervated and moronic lost soul would ever descended to such level. Islam is demonic. |
slimyem: Knowing that most Nigerian protests end in futility,I wouldn't waste time and energy joining in this one. If they succeed in making these idiot senators revert this law,I'd be really surprised. Was the fuel subsidy protest in futility? At least we achieve some measure of consolation. Don't be counted among the cowards. No insult intended. |
Don Demu: U bunch of jobless folks who hate the word PEACE. How e tek concern u? As d law no come make am mandatory to marry or marry off an underaged babe makes it a matter of free will. May be u guys are just being jealous cos u quiet well know how tight a 9yr old will be down there and ur fake religious belief will not allow you have a tasteA psychiactric sub human like you. What makes you think any one is as cursed as you and your fellow muslims. Islam and its adhearers are a curse; child molestation, terrorism, sharia all of these and many characterised your religion. Hypocrite. Who knows, very soon, you may want bombing of churches to be legalise since it is enshrine in ur quoran. Bunch of nit - wit. You should bow ur head in shame, instead of displaying plain stupidity. You are a disgust. The attendant medical effect alone, couple wit it social ills, is enough for any right thinking man to totaly disregard it. |
A supposed achievement that has not reflected in the lives of average Ngerians is nothing short of paper work designed and framed to deceive the masses. Inspite of the billions accrued to d national coffer, yet with very little to show for. The over hyped railway is a laughing stock compared to what is obtainable in other countries with little resources. At a time others are celebrating a more sorphisticated rail line, here we are revamping what Britain left behind over 60yrs back, yet fraudently committing billions to already existed project. The earlier the gov't realise it has lost touch with the ppl, hence vacating seat for a more prepared hands, else any attempt to rig this same gov't back could meet a brick wall, and the end may be devastating. |
He sacrifices integrity and principles on d bases of greed and low moral. I guess, he must be grinding where ever he is now. |
We have whethered thro tougher challenges in d past unscratched. 2015 will come and go and nothing will happen, but that is not to say that, irregularies, malpractices which is synonimous with pdp will not be met with stifer opposition. We all know what pdp is capable of, because events of d past few months has clearly indicate it is a party that is desperate to hold on to power not minding who get hurt. They have proven time again to be a dangerious party. The systematic break down of order, the random hit of d polity, the dishonesty of d executive, unabated corruption, failure to fulfilled electoral promises are catalyst if not properly managed and address could lead to major unrest and subsequently, may prompt d military to take over. The sustainability of our democracy rest on all parties to engage d rules of fair play in the coming election void of rancour and blackmail. |
Giving the circumstances that led to the escalation and d wide spread of the insurgency, i.e d brutality and massacre of its unarmed members by f.g, was on that premise that Buhari express his disgust and demand for an amicable route for settlement. It was d unprofessional handling of d situation by d fg that has caused us to bear d brunch at this point in time. The General at no point vent support 4 the group. He was being objective, but unfortunately, those bent on destruction, readily found an occation to labelled him a sympathiser just to reduce him politically. Less we forget that, he Buhari had dealt with a similar notorious group like this b4 and successful. The challenge b4 fg now is to minimize civilian casualities in their bid to dislodge the islamic group and stop unnecessary whinning. |

naijathings: When you meet a man or woman who has common sense and natural management skills and is street-wise and knows how to keep your secret and is homely, cheerful, honest.... then you start asking for a degree just because you MUST marry a graduate.. then you yourself have failed in wisdom. You are no doubt an epitome of wisdom. God bless u 4 making sense from a sound base wisdom. This thing you have and express, that's what we call knowledge, and it can be bought. @when you find the one 4 u, u will know, has summarise d essence of intimacy. Only d wise at heart knows this, not 4 everybody. |
The fear of Buhari is the beginning of wisdom for Pdp. The falsehood and scam all in an attempt to mud the General's name is nothing short of fear to cover their short coming. The General remains the only serving Head of state with an undented image. I challenge Pdp and their pundits to bring forth any accusation against him if they have any. All this propaganda will not save them, the knot their days are numbered, and probably trying all the could to shift our attentions from their rotten attrocities which we are all aware of except offcourse for their apologist by labelling a ditribalised, highly discipline General with unfounded and baseless allegation all in a bid to curry d sympathys of Nigerians. Only gullible folks will be scam into believing this trash. |
wisdom-w:That explain why most Nigerians don't take you ppl serious, always lacking in principle and idea. Try to approach issue with objective. |
|
Desperation has obviously set in for pdp, just about anything to grab power by all means. Odumakin ceased from being d General's spokes man 2yrs ago and as such, his statement does not reflect that of d General. The inordinate desire of the pdp for power is setting a dangerious precedence for our democracy. If this continued unabated, this no doubt is an invitation for anarchy. The set- up is premature, childish and abysmal. |
