@Lordpeckxy

Most businesses tend to secure their likely domain names months/years even before the business takes off.

I know you must have burned time and energy, structuring your business around the business name, but I strongly suggest you go back to the drawing board to brainstorm on a new name that will also fit into your company's goals, vision, mission, and ideas.

Some have suggested adding the letter "s" or a word to the name you originally intended to use. Others have suggested adding "ng." All good suggestions BUT, if you have any slight feeling that this business will have an international footprint in future (near/distant), stick with .com and stay away from ng. For this same reason (international presence), I suggest you go for an entirely new business name, with matching domain name.

But if you do not intend to have presence (online or offline) outside Nigeria, you can retain the exact business name and domain name (as long as you are not infringing on any trademark right), but go with the .ng extension, or like someone else said, add "ng" to the domain name.

Good luck

I will give your suggestion a close consideration, as you have said, I will go back to the drawing board, and rebrand the title.

why didn't you register the name in time, what where you waiting for?
Its a Businesss Idea I coined out early this year, the Business Name is something that has been existing in another country since 2018.

Then research the best tool for the job
Make a plan or a wireframe that describe what u are going to do and the part you want others to do

No code should be written until there is a design else the project will fail. In software development the easiest part is code implementation, this is not a project in which functions would be thrown about

Code written should be in oop, which requires components design and good naming practice, Java is good for enterprises app because of it oop concepts,
So oop is pretty important.

<u>Why people should participate</u>
If you are noob u will gain experience quickly because most people learn on the job
It will teach u how to collaborate, and how to endure others critise ur code
It will teach you how to use Google, stack overflow, stackexchange...
There are a lot benefits
Of Course we are going to wireframe our proposed application and take every necessary step required in developing a software which includes both the System Design and Detail Design, not to forget, it is still in fore-play, but I sure believe we can do it.!!!
But we can take other lesser projects, if you guys think its a little too wide.!!!

Firstly, you need to know that the law establishing business in Taiwan and Nigeria differs which simply means you can REGISTER your business name here in Nigeria so far the business name is not registered as trademark in other part of the world.

Secondly, you can not register same domain name when creating your website URL..NEVER! Will advice you add 'ng' to your domain name to differentiate yours e.g. www.(your domain name)ng.com OR at best you change your domain name.

I hope this helps?
I see your point, thanks for the enlightment.!

Language do matter especially when you're looking at efficiency and cost.
Why do you think game engines are written in C, C++,?
Why do you think OSes are written in C, few C++ RUST etc ?
Database Systems ?
Real-time (Embedded) Systems ?
Aircraft ?
You heard of HFT ?

And when your services keep going down because the Java app keeps running out of memory, you:
1. Either keep spending on acquiring more servers to meet up JVM never ending demends.
2. Re-write in a more efficient language like: C++, RUST, where you can do all that 8GB in less than 80MB.

I'm still yet to see my services go beyond 20MB.
well analyzed....

We will be creating an application very similar to Opay but this time it will be nairaland as a case study.
Its a general platform, am not the only coder now, everyone contributes...
I guess everyone knows Opay, if its a little too heavy we could do others, I have some bit and bits of ideas and things to create.!
So whose up for the challenge.!!!
If you have any suggestions on what to create or how to create it, your suggestion is welcome.

Business / Help! My Business Name Is Already In Existence In Another Country, What Do I Do? by Lordpeckxy(m): 12:12am On Apr 27, 2020
Hello Nairalanders...
Am creating an E-commerce web application of which I was to launch at the suppose end of this lockdown. The problem is that the business and domain name I desperately want to use, is already in existence in another country(taiwan to be specific).
Am at a fix here, I don't know what to do, should I go ahead with the name or what?
Its a little daunting as that is what I have envisioned my business to be.
Is there anyway around it?
Your suggestions and Enlightment is most appreciated.

great. But why not add a line break instead? <br /> after each input instead of paragraphs?
A Problem can be solved in different ways...
In that Program, I used the paragraph tag, U recommend the break tag, another could choose to use CSS to adjust the contents.!!!
Whichever Case, it very much depends on the developer.

nice work but you should have separated the javascript and and css into different pages from the html. That way the code is clean and readable
Its was Just a Simple Program...
Maintainance Is not verily much Needed, if the codes were much, then seprating them would be recommended.!!
Just as I say, Knowledge Is vital, If the coder doesn't like it Embedded, then he could create an external file and import them...
Which Ever Case, It all depends on the Programmer.!!!
